Brian and I decided to play a couple rounds of Wake Island, and that's our full round. Yeah I got hatemail. And an epic story of weirdness to boot:

I started off in Brian's AH as gunner, and we proceeded to kill some things and fly over C. I saw a Flanker, so you know what I just had to do. Hopped out, held down B and landed right in the cockpit. I would find out later that was a mistake. READ ON!

A few dozen kills and no deaths later, there are now 3 jets and 2 choppers in the air. And lots of pissed off Russians. Stinger after stinger until the inevitable - GASP - disabled. I bailed out over the end of the runway, figuring I'd just grab another jet. HOWEVER

I couldn't move my character. All I could do is look left and look right. No guns or RPG showed up. All I could do is walk like a total moron. Basically, I had the same motions available as the gunner in the AH has, and I could also move forward, left, right, and backward, though I couldn't turn my whole body - just my head. After a while, I realized there's no way to properly wait for the jet, so I figured I'd try swimming to see if I could turn in the water. IT WORKED!

So I swam around, angled myself right behind the runway, and as soon as I reached the shore again, I'm once again looking at a 45 degree angle to the runway. But that didn't stop me! I sidestepped my way to the jet and hopped in. Wish I had that on video. Must've been hilarious to Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

The best part of that match is that we were losing it for at least half the game. Brian was by himself in the chopper (seriously no one wanted to gun for him!). I had their Flanker and whored out Guided Missile for all its spotting and fire 'n'forget goodness. Even when we got two random squadmates, Brian was still alone! They chose to spawn in the F-35s instead. Last 20 tickets we were down by 5 or 6, but capped 4/5 flags. Ticket bleed aaaaannnnnddddd VICTORY!

Snake, nice flying. I would of definitely crashed more than a few times in that span. That was kinda weird in that moment you were getting shot by the other chopper.

Zath, that's an impressive game. It would have been cool to see vid of that and your glitchy body.

No body, no HUD (other than crosshairs), no gun. Very freaky!

To replicate the glitch, simply jump from the AH gunner seat straight into a vehicle and then get out. Might only be jets.

Yeah I may just start recording my sessions just for the hell of it. Whatever happened to RecordFest anyways? We all need to get something going one night! I'd really like to be able to see everyone's perspective on the same game. Like if 5 people recorded a round and all submitted their uncut YouTube videos with suggested highlights. That'd be awesome!

No I still have it.

Shmoopy and I were helping the ground people by taking out their choppers and tanks and also we did some flying into buildings. That could be considered an objective to some people.


I think I am going to start an "Epic fails of the week" segment on youtube. I laugh at times watching people play and I feel as if others should laugh also.

Nothing special, pretty boring round for me. I cut out the many misses I had on choppers attempting to snipe the pilot. Pretty much got footage of mph getting sniped, a random on our team trying to shoot me, and zath blowing up stuff.

Thanks for posting that up, Trail! Great shots. Loved MPH having his dead body blown off my tank! Also loved the chopper at the very end going backwards into the water and flaring just before splashdown!

And nothing says "I WANT KILLZ!" like driving the Vodnik out to the carrier LOLOLOLOL

Guess we forgot to read the server rules "no spawn raping" oops!

Haha yeah at one point we tried to let them have "chimpanzee" flag but that failed. I totally suck with sniper rifles, those were the only kills I had the entire match. I learned a new thing that game when you told me the vodnik was amphibious. I didn't even know a chopper could fall like that! Lol at the flares!

I say next time we all switch over and try to reverse spawn camp. I think with you, hapi, mph and me it could of been done. We may have had to sabotage the tanks in the water before switching though:D

That would be something to spawn trap the enemy on one side then the other. I'm up for the challenge.

I'm also down to play more vehicle maps.

Zath, that was an awesome game! My heart was beeting very hard and I had no clue what the ending score was. I was in the chopper FOREVER and felt good. Since they nerfed the chopper I havent used it much but I prob captured 15-20 flags that game with it! I have to check battle log when I get home smile.gif I will be on later for anyone on.

So yesterday I played quite a bit of hardcore mode with no HUD or minimap, and I liked it. All facets of the game took time to adjust to that hardcore style. My M98B really liked it. I think I'll play it some more in the future.

YES! Thumbs up to that, in my opinion hardcore is the only way to go.....minimap on or off. Very satisfying to take someone down with 2-3 shots as opposed to the bullet sponges that players usually are in vanilla mode, especially with my horrible aim.

I'm utterly shocked that you don't play Hardcore all the time. If I sniped even 10% of time you do, I'd be all over it. Other than running out of ammo inadvertently, there's no downside if you're sniping.

I actually prefer hardcore over core. But there is one aspect about it that does bother me. Accuracy doesnt matter. I can full auto snipe with the MP7. Since I only need to land 3-4 bullets at a far distance I can burst fire more bullets. I cant do this in core since I would need to land 6+ bullets and most likely the player would have moved by that time. I know because I have done it. Other minor issues but overall I do prefer it. I play core because thats what everyone else plays. Ill be on in a little while. Hopefully I catch some of you on tonight.

I've played hardcore before, but found that sometimes my own teammates are the enemy. Numerous occasions I'd be shot down by my own teammate so his friend could get in the jet, too. Then there's the guys on Noshahr Rush who C4'd their own Tunguska because that guy was hogging all the kills.

When I play hardcore, I get frustrated. I get sniped or killed by campers at every corner. I die because when I run into someone, I hesitate to figure out if that person is on my team or not (much easier in BC2 due to 2 uniform sets), and meanwhile the person ends up being my enemy and kills me. When I get frustrated, I just start killing everything that moves. Usually I'll get auto-kicked and find another game to play.

That said, I'm up for hardcore. Anyone wanna be in my squad? LOLOLOLOL
