Hapi, I tried to respond to you on the battlelog but most of this message got deleted, luckily I copied first.
I played my first two full rounds of BF3 on PC today. I figured 32 man Conquest on Metro sounded a little easier than other maps/gamemodes. It was pretty painful, with me determined to go the keyboard mouse route.
Steep, steep learning curve. I really only played a couple games of Metro. I was very much lost. I constantly had my fingers on the wrong buttons. My team got destroyed both matches. I got killed over and over by a hacker. Other people complained too, and the guy was gone quickly, but that changed the whole game. IMO, this was the reason they escaped their spawn and took B back. This guy was one shotting with his Type 88...or it seemed that way to me. I wasn't sure though until others started complaining as well.
IDK, I got stuck in the chat box button once on accident, and couldn't figure out how to escape it and get back in the game. I had to restart my pc...lol.
Yeah, it was pretty bad. The first game I went 8-28, and it hurt...http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/battlereport/show/1/69606017/362598461/
. The 2nd game I went 31-36, but it felt like 14-90...http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/battlereport/show/1/69609500/362598461/
. I literally couldn't more. I always ended up on the wrong key, and then would have to look down at the keyboard to get going again.
I never did figure out how to pull the difibs and revive a guy. Pressed every button on the keyboard too...one by one, but still no deal. IDK, WTF.
I think I need to get a good list of BF3 keystroke commands and put them in place, possibly mapping a couple things to my mouse.
Also my mouse software is being difficult and won't let me in to make adjustments.
Other than that, the graphics are stupid good. The sound is better as well. The input lag improvement and overall fluidity of the gameplay is very noticeable. So is the larger player count. I played in a 32 man server. Not as many servers as xbox it seemed though, by a large margin.
I'm determined not to plug in my xbox controller, though I might have to soon, because I can only imagine how nice this be on the big plasma screen, sitting in my big easy chair with a controller in hand. Like yowsers.
I jumped into an empty server on Caspian Border. The tanks seem incredibly accurate and way better feeling when swinging the cannon around compared to xbox. The attack chopper felt like it was almost impossible to crash, even though I did crash everytime. But that was mainly because I was weirded out by the mouse controls / confused. I need to make mouse adjustments. Jets seemed possibly more confusing than xbox, but I'm not sure.
I'm glad I was trying to keep up with anybody, like in party chat, because that would have been painful for them. Plus I need a mic or something. My headset still work, but not my mic.
More to come.
