All I can say is.. AWESOME

Again this one looks great, tops on my list this year. Still wanna see something not run on a supercomputer.

This all looks fine and dandy but if the movement in the game is as wooden as the movement in BC2 then this one just won't work for me. I couldn't get past that in BC2 so I am hoping somehow they made things a little more fluid/natural.

Still it should be a big hit and sell tons of copies.

I pray they keep it just the way it is in BC2. KZ3 was ruined by them trying to COD'ize it.

Prone will add another element to the movement, but for the most part, I felt movement in BC2 was perfect.

Interesting because I find no issues with the movemnet in BC2 (but everyone sees things different).

It's slower no question but just a little adjustment to me. I'd worry about balance if they speed it up much. With the distances in the maps it could easily render snipers ineffective.

Agreed.

Movement is just fine in BC2 and should not be compared to COD because it's two very different games.

1000x yes. It's not COD, please, please don't try to make it that way...

I just built a PC using all second-hand components. Only thing I recycled was my case.

Intel core i7-930
Asus Rampage II Gene mobo
6 GB Corsair XMS3 memory (I actually bought that new)
XFX Radeon 6850 video card
OCZ Gamexstream 750w PSU
Windows 7 64 bit

I think my total out of pocket cost was around $480

Did you watch the video? That was gameplay footage..

This one sreams for my PC. It wouldn't surprise me if I pick it up for the 360 as well, I did the same for Battlefield BC2. Too many friends play on the 360 to ignore, not really anybody I know really games on a pc.

That's my thinking, too. I'll forego the graphical beauty in favor of more coordinated attacks and hanging out with the AVS crew.

So that you can teabag, then shoot your gun in the air celebrating your kill on a AVS member. lol. I'll get you Zath, I'll get you.

How'd you know?

A last stand style sequence for non critical (limb or belly shots) that is significantly shorter than the current time in which you can be revived.

I definitely like the revive feature as it keeps the fight going and changes the dynamic considerably from just dying, especially considering how big the maps are in BC compared to a game like COD but, if I've shot someone through the eyeball, they shouldn't be getting back up. Also, if I've been fragged in the knee, I should get a few seconds of primary or secondary weapon action while trying to crawl my ass to cover to be revived/patched up. Perhaps even limited medic supplies (5 revives per life) or a medivac type situation.

Also, perhaps a button sequence combo in which to enable faster reloads or not coming off the optic when cycling a bolt on a sniper rifle. Enhances that panic factor a bit when you find yourself short on ammo. Also adds a bit of realism as one's fine motor skills are likely to suffer under pressure.

A few COD sized (smaller shoot-house style) maps. Not many, maybe 2 but it would be a nice change to have them thrown in there for a few quick games.

Just some thoughts.

New trailer....

Haven't been able to watch it yet, but they said a 12 minute reveal will be out later this month (I think it said April 17th).

pretty cool.

There is also a video with some leaked footage of the same trailer. It is a little different from the final version in the link above but does show scenes where you are piloting a tank and a jet. It also shows some of their particle lighting effects with the frostbite engine.

Nice video. The part I'm looking forward to is the audio on this game. I think BC2 has the best audio in any war game and looking at these video's, BF3 is going to be even better.

Man this game is making me want to buy a high end PC to play it in all of it's glory. I really want to see this running on the consoles to see how big of a difference it is going to be. I just can't see this looking anything like THAT on 360 or PS3.

I just preordered for PC...

I am upgrading my video card before but here are my current specs...

Quad core 3ghz
8gb ram
140gb ssd
Nvidia 6800 ultra
Win 7 pro

I will change my video card to a gtx570, 580 or 590...

I wonder if the game is being developed:

1. separately for consoles and PC?
2. ported from console to pc?
3. ported from pc to console?

my guess would be no. 2, but we can hope for no. 1.

If I remember right, it is 3.
I'd say it's a mixture of number 1 & 3.

It's being developed on PC as the lead platform, though there are certain elements that will be PC only (64 player and larger maps) that can't be translated to consoles. Consoles will have a population of 24, and the maps will be scaled down in size to support this, though jets will supposedly still have reign over the entire map (ground troops would be restricted to the smaller map). I'd assume given these differences, that some development would run parallel.

Question: those of you that are getting a gaming PC. Why not wait until late summer or even until the games comes out to build a PC? I mean it could be 6months later until the game comes out.
yeah waiting always leads to cheaper prices/better stuff
