LMGs are about the same. I believe the first or second unlock is most accurate. Bipod greatly improves all of them in that dept though.

Your motion sensor stays put as long as it doesn't get blown up (usually). There is no telling with the spawn beacon though. That thing will just randomly blow up sometimes. Others I'll change kits and i'll notice after 5-10 minutes (and a few deaths) that its still up where I left it.
Still stickin by it, I'll take my SV or M95 with the acog anyday. Anything that isn't face to face you outrange and out damage big time. Even with suppression firing at you the enemy basically has to zig zag and run in circles trying to get in cover so you don't either shoot him again or HS him.
Then again its habit for me to aim high center, so i get more headshots than most others. to each their own!
Still my fav. tactic on Seine! Hold the bulding between D & B. You control D from all but the russian spawn. You control the alley and from D,A--->C, and the stairs going up from A-->C. Your motion beacon watches the building overlooking A. A stupid amount of kills, and basically the area on lock down, especially if you have a couple guys. The two just cover each other as you keep D&B capped and the rest is all killing lanes.

SOFLAM will still actively spot but only if something goes in it's direct line of sight, so if you point at a busy road you might get some locks. You can remotely control it, so don't want to be standing directly behind it when using it.

MAV doubles as a motion sensor if you just land it somewhere and leave unattended. If you're flying around in the air and are really high up, it will start "floating" down back to ground. And you can always start controlling it again from anywhere on the map as long as enemies don't blow it up.

Best support weapon is definitely the M249. I normally run bipod and IRNV but the Kobra RDS is pretty good as well. I'll pull out the Kobra on lighter maps and run IRNV on darker maps (Tehran highway and Op Metro).

I'm close to unlocking the AN94 for assault, is this thing as good as it was on BC2? I was deadly with that gun in BC2. Right now I'm rocking the M416 with iron sights, forgrip, and heavy barrel and it does pretty well.

It sucks that they are taking away the tank mines when you die, they should definitely just mimic how it was on bc2 giving you a max of 5 or 6.

And seriously? Nerfing the mortars? Who honestly complained about them? I've died maybe 10 times by them.

Just be aware that the USAS-12 has ZERO range, regardless of whether you're using; slug, flak, or plain ol' rounds. It's only for up-close-and-personal "fighting." Although it's not much of a "fight" unless you run into a huge wave of guys or if they're at any distance. BLAM, BLAM, BLAM, BLAM, BLAM, BLAM, BLAM! Seven full autoshots in just over one second obliterate everything in your path quite easily.

Campers and snipers complained about mortars. Waah, why can't I sit in my perch for the whole map? Waah!

AN94 in BF3 is decent. Some people seem to love it, others hate it. I agree it was one of my favorite (and fastest) platinums in BC2!

You can actually snipe people pretty well with it once you get used to the bullet drop (frags) and learn to single-fire

Thanks. I'm going to have to play around with them - wasn't sure if the MAV only worked when piloting it.

Not sure if it's post-patch, but it seems the motion sensor blows up when you respawn. The spawn beacon only blows up if it's been destroyed or if you spawn on your own beacon.

There's also a problem now when picking up your motion sensor - sometimes it will randomly switch kits on you...even if a kit isn't nearby. It wouldn't be bad if your recon kit was then on the ground - but you get stuck with whatever kit it randomly gives you.

The south-side building across the street from D & B (the one closer to B)?

I love that map - it's such a great map. I scored over 13k points one match just going around in circles capping points (in game points). Have yet to even come close to scoring it again.

One other thing: IRNV is useless now. Terrible.

A legit way to get suppressor and MCOM defend ribbons is to start a squad Rush match. Join a empty server, then have one guy switch over to the other side. Duke, razor, revel and I did this and everyone collected the ribbons. Expect for Duke because he was the one attacking but he did manage to get massive points for killing and arming.
MAV goes away if you respawn as recon, does not if you use another kit. Same with the spawn point, but the spawn point should stay until you spawn on it or it gets destroyed.

I'm also running into MAV issues when resupplied. The one that is deployed stays out but is no longer controllable. Drop the resupplied one and the previous dies. Had a few times where I wanted to move it around but the action was too heavy and I'd dropped a new I would have lost the motion sensor where the action was.

Oh someone was looking for a good place for knife kills? Try TDM. Seems like a lot more opportunities. Was at about 95 knifings Saturday and am at 107 now, think a couple were in rush but 10 or so from only an hour or so of TDM.

Just started using the AN94. So far, I can't say it's nearly as beastly as it was in BF2(iron sight SUCKS)...Also, I thought everyone might be interested in this(if it hasn't been posted yet) http://denkirson.xanga.com/756891604/bf3/

How does anyone use the PKP Pecheneg enough to unlock attachments? The iron sights on that thing are so terrible. I guess I'm going to try to use it in situations where I can hip-fire and get a bunch of kills. I was really excited when I unlocked it, but I cannot use it at all. I have the same problem with the AEK-971. I just cannot aim that thing. I unlocked the grip which has helped, but I really need a sight (15 kills away from the KOBRA RDS).

I also figured out how to get javelin hits - you have to aim upwards before you shoot. I haven't gotten one hit marker when just shooting straight. Sometimes it seems to randomly miss though. I prefer to just use the SMAW/RPG, or even better - C4!

I played a few games last night, but it sucks when your team doesn't rush when playing rush. When you attack you really have to run up to the bombs and set them before the defense gets a good defense set up. On the first set of M-COMs on Tehran Highway, I ran all the way to A, killed a few guys and set it. I was watching the bomb for a second but I died and there was no one around to kill the guy so he disarmed it. After that they started sniping and set up a decent perimeter that was nearly impossible to break. I need to play a bit more recon so I can unlock the MAV. I never seem to be on a team with a guy using a MAV. Recon isn't a very popular class. I don't like using it too much because you have no defense against vehicles. I think DICE knew this and that's why all of the recon equipment stays on the battlefield if you respawn as a difference class (and it doesn't get destroyed).

I think it's probably glitched pre-patch than. If i place my motion sensor away from my spawn beacon more often then not it will not blow up after i die. If they are side by side it will blow up with the spawn beacon. But then again, 1 in 4 times i will spawn on my beacon and it won't blow up. I honestly have no idea.

Yep thats the building. Its pretty funny when they finally decide to try and get you out of the building as well. you know exactly where they are. I keep getting chuck norris knife kills. Just jump out of the windows above them and run right behind them, they are way to focused on the building and never expect you to be right behind them. Once you have done that a few times to them I'll usually just lay down on the second floor and wait for them to come up the stairs. Flip on the tac light when they come around the corner and they are pretty defenseless. Call it camping if you want but its also going out and capping the two points. Have had multiple 30+ kill games with under 5 deaths. Good on K/d but almost always a win as well.

We were getting stomped by some guys doing that, but I managed to clear out that building with an 870 and a Rambo attitude. I normally find the fighting over the C control point on Seine Crossing is the most intense.

Yep, thats what i like about it though is that you can also partially watch over C. If you blow out a wall on the building between C and the "camp" building you can see even more including the garage that is a pretty big spawn point on C. Its hard to fight when couple people with shottys come up though =(

PKP = <3.

Burst fire it - 2 or 3 shots. Use bipod. I actually loved the irons. Very used to it from Bad Company 2
post #5297 of 14294
wouldn't exactly call it legit hk but I guess that works defender was a PITA for me to get and it is doable without boosting, C4 on the MCOM which maybe isn't much better to some people ha. I have a feeling they will change it eventually as they did in BC2 where if you get kills near the MCOM defending it counts.

Played some TDM today and besides knifing its great to get unlocks for your gun since all infrantry and CQC.

It is a shame that they nerfed the IRNV that much. On dark/indoor maps I can't see **** and feel like I need it. Wish they just made it that it didn't work outside instead of the all around nerf they did.

I'm waiting till the patch hits. Apparently, it significantly reduces the xp necessary for unlocks.

btw lots of speculation that the patch hits tomorrow.

160k points to the G3. If I remember correctly, it used to be 400k+.

I want the EMR!

Duke and I played some Squad Rush today. Were getting rolled. It's a different game type, for sure.

Recon class...I almost exclusively use the SKS. I started using the SKS the other day with the HOLO sights (like Zath said he imagined he would use it...a long time ago) and it works really well on some of the smaller maps. But really the SKS works well with almost any scope/sight. I had been using it mainly with the russian 7x scope that it comes with, but recently have been trying the 4x scopes and holos. Some of the bigger maps a bipod and a 7x or even a 12x scope work pretty well.

Assualt class...almost exclusively the F2000. That is a really nice gun. Holo mainly, but also a 4x scope.

Recently unlocked the USAS shotty and have been enjoying that.

The .44 scoped Magnum does not seem to be working out for me. I can't seem to get kills with it. I thought 2 hits were kills with that gun. Guess not. It is too hard to steady, too slow to reload and seems to be inaccurate (I guess I just can't seem to get headshots).

I have been leaving the SOFLAM in my recon class. Guess I need to start using the MAV again. I didn't realize it would spot by itself.

Speaking of the MAV. I was driving a tank yesterday and I am pretty sure a MAV was locking onto me and slowly draining my power. It was very perturbing. It was messing up my vision and destroying me fairly quickly. I got out of the tank to see if someone was using the repair tool on me, but nobody around except that damn MAV. Those things are so frustrating though.

One time on Conquest Metro I saw someone park their MAV on top of the subway train. I was running around trying to find the damn thing forever to destroy it, because I heard it beeping and all.

First thing I am doing with the new patch is dropping the giant tower on Caspian Border!

New dashboard update comes tomorrow. For those of you who don't have it... I think you'll like it. The entire thing is Kinect-enabled.

If the patch arrives for co-op, I'd definitely be down for playing some.

You'll love the USAS. Thanks for remembering something I posted from ages ago LOL!

I have also had terrible luck with the 44 scoped. I'm using the G18 now and loving it. 3 bullets per trigger just makes it perfect for those "oh, ****" situations.
Good games with mphfrom77. Night started horribly. Just couldn't get anything going. Mph joined and us and a random started rolling good. Got a 571m headshot on Kharg from a bunker to some retards standing on the carrier. In fact I know I got two maybe three long balls off em. Dam choppers though, remind me again why stingers are nerfed?

Yeah, so you do need to add a link in your sig to all your videos.

Yeah I mainly use the suppressed G18 for all of my pistols.

Just got kicked out of a server after playing 2 on 10 of you guys and waiting to join up with you guys. ugh
post #5308 of 14294
I have tried to use the choppers and jets recently but it is confusing. The videos are from PC gaming and the console version is not even close. I keep trying the going high swoop down on opponents but I never saw the pc guy get "stuck" gaining altitude and at the turn point can't seem to drop down smoothly. Any one with tips for this ? MPH If you didn't notice I suck, and my Beagle ate my mic, otherwise it was fun watching some of your tactics .

Still can't connect to EA for some reason. Maybe it's time for a server upgrade ?
yep server maintenance last night from 3am-7am related to BTK expansion.

New Wake Island trailer aww yeah I love this map. Not sure why only 3 cap points though instead of 5, did they shrink the map??
