OK guys, I have kind of a random question. I have a soccer league I am in, games are late around 7 or 8. The games are in my work town and my house is 20 minutes away in a different town. This means I have 2-3 hours to kill somedays before I go home. I set up a 360 in my office to play BF3 during those 2-3 hours.

Question, would there be any way that corporate headquarters could see that there is a 360 using the internet in our local office? Our ISP is a local cable company, Charter, and we have a business package. I know our IT can remotely login to our work comps, but would they know if there was a 360 on our local office intrawebs>?

They can follow the IP address and see where it's going (xbox live servers). They can log the MAC address. It would be difficult for them to investigate and come to the conclusion that it's YOUR xbox. In order to even get that kind of attention, there would need to be some kind of major bandwidth spike, which XBL probably wouldn't produce.

Are you looking to do this during your own time or work time? If it's during work time, then that's your choice and you take the risk. Personally, I even have difficulty bringing in a PSP to my work. Doesn't look good at all!

My own time of course, no way would I boot it up in the middle of the day..... just after 5 when i have a few hours to kill and I cant go home yet

If you are on wired, they may assign specific IP addresses to specific network drops (this is common with industrial switches - any DHCP machine at that drop will have a predetermined IP), in which case they will know exactly which network connection is the Xbox (if they recognize it as Xbox traffic, which they will probably figure out... if they care).

Are they giant hardasses about your desktop machines? That should give you a clue about if they'll be hardasses about this.

Good games fellas. I don't know why I got disconnected but when I came back online the game was full. Nice comeback win on sharqi, even with the crazy lag! It was probably me causing all the lag issues.
Yeah it was pretty nuts.

I can't believe how insanely accurate I was with that USAS/frags. I was up on the very top of the crane over Gulf of Oman (small conquest) C, and managing to take out guys at B! Pissed off a lot of people. Sadly, claymores don't work like they used to in BF2. Nothing beat throwing down a claymore at the end of a ladder and having an enemy climb all the way up a crane only to blow up at the top!

Anyhoo yeah we had some great comebacks. Good games but yeah laggy at times and I also hate conquest assault
post #7060 of 14306
Yeah Duke and Razor I was going to jump in with you guys but the other avs'ers I was playing with were only good for another game so we just stayed together. Went to look for you guys and you were already off. So you guys had a server all to yourselves. Nice.

They are not hardasses at all. No web page blocking. So I think I'm fine.

Had some really fun AVS vs. AVS scrimmage games tonight, good times! Duke decided to start up a game of regular rush on a server that had no players on it, and for the first few rounds, we had the server all to ourselves! It was myself, Bar0n Br0wn, CaptainSmokiee, hksvr4, JShmoopy, and Stee Train vs. Duke Broadway, Bertman85, Bullshark316, Revel1911, and TemperingOwl (+1 random on their side). It was interesting to see that it took several rounds before any randoms started joining in, so in the future if you guys are looking to play AVS vs. AVS, grab an open server and give it a shot!

When I saw you guys were on Kharg Rush I almost bailed to join but thought that would've been highly offensive to lowgn, shiles, and the others. If I would've known you had an AVS vs AVS thing going on I probably would've suggested to everyone that we join in and fill up the server. Epic.

C4 Mcom works good. Kill the person arming or disarming. Revel was whoring the chopper on wake island. I think he went like 30's in kills. He didnt' get it till the end. We decided to take the hits because we didn't have enough guys to defend the last B crate in the trailer. So we said "F-it" everyone go to "B" now and got the win.

Gulf of Oman?, Duke was using the USAS-12 and mortar while Bertman was trying to kill with the MAV. LOL... We had two parties going so we only heard our team mates. Super fun time.

Why would you go on top of a crane to snipe with a shotgun?

I would have jumped over but I only had 1 game left or so by that time.

1. I'd never been up on the crane. And I wanted to see if the BF2 claymore trick worked. Sadly, it doesn't.

2. I hate sniping but I wanted to see what I could do with the USAS/Frag combo.

3. Because I can.

4. For the lolz.

I've been "claymored" while climbing a ladder before. It was a few months ago, however. Patch?

Speaking of Duke and that mortar, did they buff the mortar in a recent patch? I would never get killed in one shot by it in the past. Mortars are so annoying that I understand why people use them. I started carrying it so that I could counter Duke, but then I felt like I was wasting the equipment slot because I would use it just to get rid of him.

Mortars are useful for flushing out people that are defending an Mcomm. It pushes then back in to hiding giving them a chance to arm. Also good for defending an armed mcomm. Mortars works really well on small maps like grand barzaar. Flushing enemy camping at the end of the hallway. Also good for moving tanks that are stationed in one spot.

That wasn't aimed at you, it was an inside joke for Razor and Duke. But I'm totally cool with you approving as well.
I haven't found mortars very effective after the December patch. I'll get tons of hit markers and... nothing. A few seconds later, "kill assist 50/70/90". Only time I usually get a kill is another mortarer.

At the same time, they're insanely annoying against me if I'm in a vehicle. It's just nearly impossible to repair a disabled vehicle while getting mortared.

Also, there have been times that I've been shooting at an enemy only to lose them because my teammate back at the base fired a smoke round at them.

Wasn't it you that posted how to see through smoke?

well sure. And by the time the icon showed up from moving the gun back and forth they were already around a corner.

I've done some crazy stuff with C4. I was on top on a building and dropped C4 near a oncoming tank and took it out. Put C4 in buildings where the Mcomm is and taken out people hiding behind walls. Placed c4 on walls to take out tanks. C4 works good on small maps with alot of buildings. Grand Barzaar, is a good example. Defending on the 3rd set of crates. Place C4 on the one by the little hallway. Wait until they are all bunched up. I took out 4 guys at once. The blast radius is pretty big. I also like using C4 because it gives my sub a really good work out.
Yeah i gotta run support/C4 more often, don't use it nearly enough.

One thing I miss is you can't "throw" C4 like in BC2. Is there any move you can do the throw the C4 farther in BF3?
It's funny that you posted the "BFF" video Zath as today was the first time I've ever felt truly plagued by moronic randoms driving.

Episode 1: Grand Bazaar - US
Their BMP pushes towards our spawn, I sneak up behind and disable it in our LAV. Their driver jumps out and gets killed, so I hop out of our LAV and run to repair it (I had a gunner with me and he takes over driving). Repair the BMP to full health and hop in...and there's a random teammate already sitting in there. Oh, no worries, he's a lvl 3 Commander, surely he won't be a moron!

To quote Lana from Archer...Nooooooooooope!

Guy drives over to their spawn (running into random objects and buildings the whole way there) and drives into an alcove out of bounds and gets stuck. Vehicle destroyed.

Episode 2: Seine Crossing - Russia.
I spawn near the tank but there is another guy closer. Oh, no problem, I'll gun. He drives over to the road between B and A...and hops out. Just leaves. His squadmate jumps into the driver's seat before I realize we needed a driver...and cannot friggin drive. He's driving in circles, instead of pushing towards an objective he drives us back to our spawn. He then goes towards A and sees the enemy tank which he proceeds to shoot at with his LMG until our team disables their tanks with rockets. Only then does he decide to switch to his main gun and get the final hit. He then drives past A and sits shooting at enemies in the building next to A (which he can't hit). He does this until their tank spawns (which he is completely oblivious to despite the fact that it's marked on the mini-map and I'm shooting at it with the HMG trying to get his attention). Sitting there with his ass end towards the enemy tank and two hits later he's disabled. I hop out thinking I'll at least keep him alive while he retreats behind cover...

Noooooooooooope! Not gonna happen...instead he sits there (not even firing) until the tank is destroyed and we get overrun...

Episode 3: Caspian Border - US.
Sweet, I spawned near the chopper...but there's a random nearby. Oh sweet, he's a lvl 60 Commander! We are gonna stomp the bad guys!!! He hops in and I gun for him...and he doesn't know how to use a flare? Seriously? I mean literally, I flare when we get missiled and he does nothing for the followup. He does this both times he's piloting, when I finally pilot he actually gets some kills but UGH...

But why oh why!?!?
