Battlefield 3 - Page 250

I run reflex RDS on almost all my guns. It has a decent field of view, least useless markings (almost ALL other sights), best maneuverability and best aim down sight speed. If you're playing aggressive and rushing fast then I can't praise it enough. I know it is very much a preferrence thing though, however "whatever you're comfortable with" didn't sound too helpful....but whatever you're comfortable with :P

Thanks for all the input on the sights guys, I'll be sure to test those out to find out "what I'm comfortable with", as the professor put it.

Had fun playing conquest with some of the crew tonight, I usually don't play much of that so it was a nice change of pace, and good to play with some of the folks I don't usually get the chance to. There was even a Harp sighting tonight, woohoo!!

Razor in terms of scopes I pretty much run Kobra on all guns except LMGs. For those I go with the US holo. I tried ACOG briefly and just didn't work good for my style since I'm typically close-mid range firefights.

Sorry for bailing on the party last night. Rush just was not fun for me at all being stuck on the other team pretty much the whole time. Switched to team deathmatch & had a little fun, especially on the newer maps. I usually forget that mode is even there, lol.

Good fun last night, except for the fact that myself and Xars couldn't get on the other team with all you ****ers. After several straight losses (and some of this so called spawn raping everyone is crying about on Tehran Hwy..)I had to go. One good thing....I got to knife Hoosier on Caspian when he got out of his beat up tank to repair....hehehe!

Yeah that sucked. I kept hoping you guys would get on our team cause you both kept killing me. I nailed someone with some well tossed grenades on Noshar I was pleased about.

Haven't been playing too much. There's just something off about BF3 that I can't quite put my finger on that makes it no where near as fun as BC2. I came extremely close to putting BC2 in last night actually.

As much as I loved it during its time, I doubt I could go back to it after BF3. Overall, I think its quite a bit better. I still have some complaints, but most can be worked out with patches. Jet whores in BF3 are less of a factor than chopper whores in BC2.

Would love me some BC2 maps on BF3 if they could pull it off.

You got me good with grenades on Noshar and Damavand Peak. Only played a few games last night, all losses. Damavand Peak was an especially fun loss though, with Lord Xars Nexus and me going for 60 combined kills against you guys.

I doubt BC2 would be as fun going back, but I've been tempted to a couple of times. Like I said I'm not really sure what it is.

The new maps for BF3 are a lot more fun so it may just be the lack of true destruction on the first maps that released with the game. BC2 maps would be an awesome add-on.

I was playing the ME3 demo with the wife. Yeah, movement sucks compared to this game.

Yeah, I really enjoy playing the new maps. It sucks when we are playing a server with only the old maps. I like the mixed ones a lot more.

Yea had a good time last night. Best part about about going against the group is listening to the affects of my actions good and bad. Many funny experiences for all!

Pretty sweet. Is the pilot just exiting the jet and his momentum is still taking him upward? He's not doing anything with the parachute right?

Finally got the repair torch kill after many many failed attempts. I got it torching a stationary mav. I tried to torch a spawn beacon but it didn't work and one of my teammates blew it up before I could try a diff angle. Harp even talked me into baiting the enemy with an empty tank. We left an empty tank sitting there for the other team to pick up, meanwhile I'm camped out in some rocks with my torch in hand. Unfortunately no takers. It was pretty funny though chasing tanks around with my torch hearing harp chanting "get em, get em, get em..." good games man!

He deployed the parachute - can't aim or shoot without the 'chute.

You can while your momentum carries you. Then you start to fall and you can't shoot and have to open the chute.

That's gotta be one of the top video game stunts ever!

Awesome stunt, and he was still moving upward, no chute deployed yet. Right after shooting he starts to fall, you can see the "arms out" animation kick in just before he jumps in the second jet.

Is there a set of noob tips somewhere? I have played shooters for over 10 years but never feel comfortable when I play BF3. Any quick tips for kits would be appreciated.

It's not your typical shooter, try playing it like Call of Duty and you'll just get eaten alive. The biggest tip I can give is play with a group who knows what they're doing, otherwise you'll be like I was the other day on a team who couldn't get off the carrier when attacking on Kharg...

Vehicles > Infantry, if you can hop in a tank or LAV your chances of survival just jumped up...a lot.

Also, 2 big differences from other shooters are Spawning on teammates and tickets.

In the BF series, if you are in a squad you have the option to spawn on a teammate, or spawn at base. 9 times out of 10 it should be better to spawn on a teammate, but make sure they aren't in the line of fire. You can tell where they are on the map as when you select their name, a little circle will show around them on the minimap, also you may be able to tell by the game screen as you learn the maps. It can be advantageous to spawn at the base to get a vehicle or if it is unsafe. Sometimes all your squad mates are dead and you have to spawn at the base.

Tickets are usually counted down (up for deathmatch). You have a set number and once it reaches 0 you lose. For each death, a ticket is lost. In conquest, there is also ticket bleed meaning you lose more tickets if you hold less flags than your opponent. The more the discrepancy, the faster they bleed. In rush you have 75-100 tickets to blow up both MCOMS. Once you do that, you move on to the next section of the map and your tickets replenish back to 75 or 100 (depends on the map). Attackers win if they go through all stages and arm and blow all MCOMs. Defenders just have to stop the attackers once to win. Meaning in any phase, if they get all your tickets (or kills), they win and the game is over. In Rush, the game usually gives you one attack and one defend per map before it switches. Conquest (CQ) will just switch to the next map after the game.

I played conquest and made sure I was on the same squad as my friends. It is very similar to domination in COD although t was a little confusing at first because we would cap a flag but not wait there long enough to start getting points.
