Let us know if you find something worth using. I've been keeping slots 2 and 3 empty and just running it with an ACOG. I'm curious if there's a benefit to any of the other attachments - thought laser might be good for hip shooting, but don't want to give my position away for mid to long range shots.


This is exactly what my experience has been. Grip didn't seem to affect mid-to-long range shots pre-patch, but feel like I've lost some accuracy with it on AR's since. I still use it with the carbines as well - and the underslung is perfect for the quick switchover.

Server does auto balance but 30 seconds into a match when the other side drops off it gets lame killing three people with 200 tickets left. So you have to do some balancing or waste 20 minutes waiting. Like I said the server is a game unto itself.

I only set up one rotation, mostly to see if anyone would like the lesser ticket values and with the idea of making everyone "sort of" happy...or at least not having to endure some long as Hell match in a mode they couldn't stand. It's not possible to setup a percentage of tickets per map...it applies the count to all maps, at least from what I was able to see.

200% tickets on any map is painful to me. There are tons of servers out there with 500% tickets...even on maps I like, I don't find it fun in any way. I like the variety. Plus, if you think it blows to be in a game where you're getting crushed on normal, try it for an hour.

Auto balance only goes so far. I typically try to give the other team at least one extra person, just to keep them interested and in the server. We do have some non-AVS regulars that have been dropping in on a daily basis already, so we must be doing something right.

(Or maybe it's just the fact that they're looking for nude women and like beer! I tried to get mph in a chat to see if he was OK with me adding that, since it's doubtful than anyone non-AVS knows what it means, but he was apparently busy.)

Okay, let's try to get some kind of count. I think it would be best if we kept our individual total number of votes as low as possible. Basically maps we can't do without, and maps we would really like to see in the rotation.

I'll start by selecting a few myself. I have noticed my map style changes and I will revisit this poll, as I think everyone should, and update my personal votes to include additional maps that I didn't realize I liked so much, or change one I have had enough of. This would allow a rolling current rotation desired list.

Please everybody vote, even if you will hardly spend time on our server. I feel this will bring better gaming to everybody. I still think avs vs. avs is where we will find the most fun.

Comes with the territory of a server. Have to decide if you want a popular server, or a server that makes you happy. The balance between there is great. However I've yet to come home at 10-11 (central) and see the avs server stacked with more than 6-8 guys. I'll flip over to 4-5 others that I frequent and they are at 20+ guys every night at all times.
IMO that's still why you need 2 servers. The one that you pack and the other that you tinker with.
My vote goes to 200% Popular CQ maps. but my vote doesn't matter since i've yet to give any money to MPH (<<<----key factor no matter what he says).

Edit-- And we do need more AVS-AVS. to the point of if there is more than 4 guys we should be splitting teams unless there is another group of guys in there that play together. Just IMO. But games are way better when there are 2-3-4 guys on each team that are doing work. Everyone has their specialty and ppl they prefer to play with so I don't think it would really be that big of a problem. We all do a good job of balancing games no matter what team we are on.

Now my first selections are not to say that I don't like rush, or I that I don't like big CQ maps. I do like both and would be fine playing them, especially if by chance we had a server loaded with avs'ers. Up until lately I liked big CQ maps the best probably, so obviously I would still "like" them. But I have really enjoyed some rush lately as well, but have trouble making a final decision on what to select. But mainly I just feel like some, too many, map / game mode combos are just not...idk...excellent.

I really think with setting up a server map selection and the corresponding game mode is crucial, and should be well thought out. I feel some maps just do not line up with certain game modes correctly, and other game modes on those maps are really good. For example I think a couple maps are really good for TDM but most other the maps are just underutilized for TDM. I think dice could have done a much better job here.

I also feel some maps are just a little ridiculous on rush but are solid on CQ. Like the other day, Tumult and I were playing rush on Bazaar. That first little room is just plain silly. Everyone throwing grenades in and out of it. I mean it's like a 10 x 12 ft room. The game ended right there. What the hell? But I have excellent experiences of CQ on Bazaar. Actually I'm not against playing rush on Bazaar again, it's just that I maybe I haven't played enough on that map, because I came away with the idea that that map/game mode combo was broken because of that scenario.

IDK. I go to setup the rotations and try to select a really good one, but frankly I feel my options are kind of limited. It's odd, but just too many map / game mode combos just don't seem to be...excellent.

Oh well, maybe that poll will help straighten things around.

I haven't played much lately but I have a lot going on currently. However my top 5 would be

I like both modes so I tried to mix up my selections. I would love to add SQDM in but limiting to 16 sucks for all other modes.

I could add a few more but I figure picking a top 5 is fair.

Personally, I agree that high ticket servers are painful, though I do want to try finding a jet map with insanely high tickets to see how long I can stay airborne. Would be a fun challenge.. once. Just like Super Smash Brothers 4 players 99 stock. Woo!

Okay, I just spent the past HOUR setting up a new rotation, picking maps based upon what I thought they were "best for." Given the feedback for CQ over Rush, it pretty much goes;

Big Map CQ
Small Map CQ
Big Map CQ
TDM
Big Map CQ
Small Map CQ
Big Map CQ
Rush
...
Patttern repeats with different maps.

I also tried to alternate the BF3 maps with the BF2 maps, so everyone gets a little variety. People still get their vehicles, others get close-quarter combat. Left the ticket count at 70% so that the CQ rounds go quicker; it doesn't affect TDM or Rush to my knowledge. I can't think of a way to create a better balance. There are hundreds of "24/7, XXX Map(s) Only, 500% Ticket" servers out there, so this is aimed in a different direction.

Again, this took me a FULL HOUR to go through, so I didn't just throw it together haphazardly. If anyone want to change a setup, please do so with one of the ones that are standard DICE Presets like "BF3 Favorites" so we can see if this might be something people are interested in.

You need to copy and post your own table every time too - you can't update someone else's quoted table. If I quote Atlienz, it doesn't show the table - and if I quote you, it doesn't include Atlienz picks.

Maybe a Google spreadsheet would be easier.

If there's competition, I'll play on any map. I'm with Snake though - I say if there's 6 or more AVS'ers without significant competition, split up the party. I never return to a server I roll or get rolled on - I'll only favorite a server where it comes down to the end of the match.

Big ticket servers are fun. It really does add yet another level of depth. I need to try a Caspian or Firestorm though. Probably not an everyday thing but a good bit of fun when you have the time.

Bazaar rush is awesome! First set of mcoms requires a blitzkrieg attack. On defense it's a blast sitting in that room and guarding. It can be taken/defended but it all comes down to a teams communication.

I don't have any particular map preferences myself. I'll play any of it on any mode and be happy. If I get an itch there's plenty of servers to scratch it on.

Ya.. And just clarifying. Everyone has people they play with more. I tend to match up more with Lowgn, harp and kilmore the most. Usually just due to our schedules tending to line up. I dunno if true but i tend to see spyder and nexus often etc..
If we are rolling odds are I'm gonna switch teams and try to get one or two of these guys to come help. Nobody needs to get pissy about it going either way. Hell I join the other team quite a bit and get steam rolled. It's all worth those one or two knife kills on avs'rs to me =P

Spyder- I can dig that rotation. I'd still prefer 100% tho =P

Lol exactly. I usually tend to get a good chuckle whenever i see you C4 an avs'r. If i'm on the oppo team I'm ALWAYS looking around for a support guy laying in the bushes or being sneaky lol

Yeah if Nexus is on the other team I'm always looking for him, I won't even dare get in a vehicle either!

Maybe it's been answered before, but can you see the ticket count when browsing servers? I can't tell you how many times we've joined a server only to find out that the score is something like 800 to 600.

Through Battlelog you are supposedly now able to but I've not tried it. Also means you have to have a computer up at the same time.

That happens to me EVERY time I play(several times per match). It's like they're firing magic bullets that bend around corners. It's the one thing I really hate about this game!

Well you know he has the sprint perk on. He is probably the squirmiest I have played with. If on the opposing team, and I'm in a tank he just somehow appears with those pleasure packs.

He has a weakness though, and that is he also likes to be in tanks. I teabagged nexus last night after I destroyed his tank.

2nd the act of trying to get another avsers tags. I don't even knife that much, but I make an extra effort if they're not looking my way. On a random I usually just shoot them in the back.

I always laugh when nexus c4's me. I think it's hilarious the lengths he goes to set up traps.
I can't say I laughed when spyder shot me in the face with the mass dart round though.
