$800 5.1 or 7.1 Setup Help!!!!!!!

I'm looking for a home theatre package around $800. I'm plugging in my PS3, so a receiver and speakers are all that I need. I researched for a month about this, and on that note, I'm still left with a boatload of options, an I'm not sure which to choose. All I'm looking for is a 7.1 (read: capable) receiver and a decent set of speakers.

I looked at these options so far:

Onyko 7300 or 9300 THX are my HTIB bets. They look pretty good for their price and from reviews (at least from older iterations), their speakers aren't too shabby. However, both of their respective receivers are capable of only Audyssey 2EQ. Is there a big difference between that and the MultEQ?

I also looked at the Denon 591BA, which comes with the Boston Acoustics speaker package. I wasn't too keen on it, considering it can't expand to 7.1.

Then, when I saw the price for the 9300 THX of about $800, I realized (and read) that I can piece together a setup myself. For this, I looked at an Energy RC-Micro or Take Classic set with a Denon 1911 or a Pioneer 1020K.

Which is the best route to go down? I'm open for completely different setups and suggestions as well.

Hmm...I've been thinking about that too, what receiver/speaker combo do you suggest?

I'm looking at the Pioneer 1120 or the Yamaha 667, but is that uneccesary for my budget?

I've heard about that strategy around the forum.

What are good speakers/receiver mates then? I'm still looking for 5.1, so I'd rather have a cheaper receiver and a 5.1 speaker package than opt for a 2.1 or 3.1 option with a more expensive receiver.

I've found a pretty good combination on Amazon for just a bit over my budget.

A Pioneer 1020-k for under $400
and the Mirage Nanosat 5.1 for $500

It comes right around $860. Should I splurge for it?

Size isn't an issue...I just thought this was a pretty good deal.

On Amazon there's the same Jamos setup with a Denon 1911 or a Pioneer 1020-k for $70 more. i'm thinking that, considering the 1911 has superior Audyssey technology(MultEQ). I'm also worried about the Onkyo's heat issues.

How do the Jamos compare to say Energy Take Classics or the Mirages? I understand they're smaller speakers, but would they underperform the Jamos?

Pioneer 1020-K or Denon? I'm leaning towards the Pioneer for its GUI and iPod integration, and I heard its MCACC calibration is just as good as the 1911

There was this $669 deal on the Pionner and 1020-k from 6ave, but it has since dissappeared. Should I just side with the Denon then? And another question on topic, when would the Denon lineup get updated?

20*18*7.5, so a good 2700 sq. feet. my tv is on the "left" side of the room though, so the sound field only need to reach about 10*18*7.5.

I've been shopping around, and I still want the deal for the S-426 with a 1020-k for $669. However, I'm having trouble finding any good review of the speaker set. Can anyone attest to this system?

Well, after quite a while, I've come to a decision: Jamo S606, BIC F12, and the Denon 891. After cables and all it comes just under $1200 (yea, sort of a budget "expansion" )

What you guys think before I plop down my final order?

I'm buying quite a bit of accs. and stuff, and since you asked:

Some:

HDMI cables, 100 ft of 16 gauge wire from monoprice, some banana plugs from monoprice, a Toslink cable (from TV to receiver), a subwoofer (RCA) cable, some wood speaker stands for the surrounds, and a wire cutter

it all adds up to about 90 bucks, so if i'm missing anything or paying too much, let me know!

From the looks of it...the Jamo S606 are aesthetically more elegant. And the S606's towers have that 8" woofer. So if you're buying the S426 by itself, look into the S606, since they're only about 70 bucks more. I want to say the S606 sounds better, but obviously I haven't heard either so I can't give you much advice there. Then again, if you're buying one of those "combos" that includes a S426 and a receiver, those also look like great deals.
