It's great a new game is coming but I would like it better if ea could just fix bfc2 first. All I get is no games available. ea are cork soakers. Wont get bf3 until issues resolved.

Maggie, I've had the same issues both Wednesday and Thursday. I was finally able to get on around 11 p.m. EST last night. Hopefully the issue is fixed for you as well.

I'm sure it'll be OK, but I think the graphical limitations of the PS3 have been pretty much found.

The PC version, on the other hand, I'm very excited about. BC2 was a graphic-gasm.

multiplat game have and never will be the pinicle of GFX whoredom, because there all pretty much made for PC and dumbed down for the console.

The PS3 still has plenty of surprises, but you'll only see them on 1st party games who are coding to it's strengths and don't have to worry about cross platform performance.

24 vs 24, prone, and jets. sign me up. not to mention there will be maps located in new york, and iirc, paris. i also think the game is supposed to be fully unveiled in early march.

here you go; snagged this from the battlefield forums. sounds like an official press release to me. i found this yesterday and today dice confirmed three of the details, so i think it's legit. the poster didn't post a link, so i don't know where the info came from. but it all sounds good to me.

If the console version of the game will in any way reflect on PC's I will hate on consoles forever. If there was ever a game that belongs only on a PC, it's this one.

Partially . BF2 is huge and robust game. In comparison, Bad Company games feel... well nerfed... so I hope that these games, outside of environment destructibility, have no influences on BF3's development.

Gameplay teaser... 2011 has a lot of potentially great games, but this is my most anticipated.

Is it 24 v 24 or 12 v 12 (24 total) like BC2? PC is supposed to be 32 v 32.

Dice is considering 3D and Move support for Battlefield 3.

BF2 released almost 6 years ago was up to 64 players online... so I'd hope the PC version had 64 player support.

Hopefully they push the hardware and try to get as many people as they can get on PS3 as long as it runs w/o lag

12 vs 12 works good on BFBC2 with the squad spawning. Makes it seem like 32 vs 32 sometimes

Thing they need to improve on is match making. There will be 12 vs 12, game ends. Next game starts and now its 12 vs 5. WTF! Take 3 and add it to the other team. 9 vs 8. Plus I will join like 4 different games with like 2 vs 3 or 3 vs 1. Take all thsoe people and stick them in one game!

A new Battlefield 3 trailer has just been released. 12 minutes of game play footage. I must say, BF3 looks pretty incredible. I can't wait until this comes out. Here is the trailer:

I just hope the EA servers are better for this game than Fifa... I hope they aren't using the same servers lol.

I've had no issues with the servers for BFBC2. For the most part, the FIFA servers have been fine for me. The odd thing is, every time I play someone on a quick match after I turn on the game to play, I always get "connection timed out". After that, everything is fine. I do get occasional lag. I do think they can be better though. If you don't have a nat type 1 or 2, you will have a lot of problems.

Totally agreed. I also strongly dislike the current map selection process - it should be possible to list what maps you are wanting to play and have the session limited to those. With BFBC2 there is no actual control beyond what map you start on.

Cheers

battlefield 2 was the sole reason i built a $2500 gaming PC, I only hope that the PS3 version can be at least as good as BF2, anything more would be a bonus.
This game looks better and better as we see more and more gaming content. I'm trying to find a way to get a BETA key for the PS3 but cannot really find any options other than buying Medal of Honor. I have more than 500hrs of time logged on BFBC2 and still play it whenever I get the chance. I can only imagine that Battlefield will be even better. Tried to get into the COD games but they are just not for me. Could not find any need to keep playing them so I can honestly say that BFBC2 has a much superior replay value. Anyone out there have any other ideas for getting a PS3 Battlefield 3 BETA key code?

I'm a little late to reply to this but... man... I'm 100% behind you. EA's servers, at least for FIFA, are total crap. Laggy, and many times is down for whatever reason locking me out of UT and online modes. BFBC2 I've had some issues as well with lag, server disconnects, etc. With BF3 coming... I'm most likely getting the 360 version (most friends I'll play it with are on xbox) but I'm probably getting the PC version as well, soon as I build a new rig. I hate EA's servers.

It's the Amazon gold box deal for the next 2 hours. $14.99

My guess is there will be an open beta at some point. People that bought MOH will probably just get earlier access.

Not quite, go read many of the PC game boards across the net, the biggest complaint is how most games are simply console ports. All you get with 90% of games is better textures, higher resolutions, AA, and if you are lucky, 60fps (some console ports are only 30fps even on the PC)

Battlefield 3 is rare in that they are building this for the PC, with nothing from the consoles holding it back. The PS3 is the lead platform for the console move, but it is heavily handicapped compared to the PC.
