Bought the premium last night. Apparently the close quarters was giving everyone problems. I kept locking up while downloading.

Mine locked up every time I was about to start on one of the new maps, the old ones worked fine with the new game modes.

Heads up on CQ:

You need to re-download the maps from the PSN store in order for them to work (believe it's under New Releases / Add-On Content). I didn't delete the original download, just re-downloaded them from the store and was able to get into a game this morning.

I had the same problem as well. I believe after about 6 tries it finally worked for me. I checked out 2 of the new maps. Some of the new weapons look cool but you have to unlock them from completing assignments.

No, but I've been killed a lot by it. I also got my new maps to finally work by re-downloading them again. If anyone is considering purchasing the Premium or new maps, I suggest you do it from the PS Store instead of the in-game store, it seems to be less prone to bugs.

Same here. I was getting killed by that gun a lot last night. I unlocked the SPAS-12 shotgun while playing last night. I really like that shotgun. The range seems better compared to the 870MCS. What does everything think of the new game mode Gun Master? I played bunch of rounds and I'm really liking that mode. I'm not a huge fan of close quarter fighting since I prefer large maps with vehicles, but I really do like the new Close Quarter Maps. It's going to take a little bit to get used to the maps. They all seem like a big maze.

Anyone else having troubles with vehicle controls since Close Quarters? Last night I when I attempted to drive a tank the turret was randomly jumping all over the place making them unusable.

No problems like that. I do occassionally get a bit too anxious getting to an objective in an abrams and find myself doing a J turn without trying.

If its double xp all week then I will set a goal. Minimum of 10 level ups. I think I could pull 15 though.

I have an xp story. Me and a couple guys on my team were wanting to get some people on our server that had been vacant for a couple days so we switched to the big points game, conquest domination, set the tickets to 750 and just waited. A few minutes in we decided to just boost our points some until people started coming in. We went in a circle taking objectives from each other without killing to just get the points. 30 minutes later when we had a huge increase in the amount of people to join we all 3 were very far along with the points. The match lasted total of 70 minutes, 40 of which the server was full or nearly full, and my points after the xp at the end of the map was a little over 215,000. Not bad for a little over an hours work. That's the first time I done that and sticking in the server worked. It remained full till we all logged off and I would guess that I ranked up twice in a couple hours.

If you're talking about the update that went live in early June, I would say no. At first, I thought it was fixed. But after a few games, I found the hit detection was still very hit and miss. Some guys drop in a few shots while others can take half a mag and still show 100 percent health in the kill cam. As far as I'm concerned, dedicated servers are a joke. At least these are. I don't remember having nearly as many lag issues with Bad Company 2.

So - is it just me, or does the Support Class offer the best opportunity to rack up huge numbers of kills?

It seems like in every game I play, the guys at the top of the Kill scoreboard are support guys.

That's not a complaint or anything, just an observation, and I'm looking for validation or not... Opinions?

Well, that´s not entirely true, I used to be a CAMPIN FEGGET (look for SHOSHO´s Youtube channel)tongue.gif and normally was one of the best players of the game, now lost "the touch" and that doesn´t happen anymore, but still can get a very nice game with the support class or the engineer one or the assault class, it depends on the circumstances of the game.wink.gif

I don't care how many points I get for the class - I love playing engineer class just so I have a counter to the vehicles/tanks.

I hate when one of them rolls up on my flag and dominates it.

Found a SWEET spot to retake the C flag on that Grand Bizzarre map. If one of those grenade launching tanks takes it over (which happens a lot) just hug the right side of the spawn (assuming you're on the team spawning near C). You'll see a garage with a stairway that is still in the starting spawn area. Take the stairway and you can camp next to a couple HVAC boxes and get a birds eye view of almost all of C. When that vehicle stops, drop a rocket right on top of it.

Instant death since it pierces the top of the vehicle where there is no armor.

I've been playing as assault a lot more lately. I'm really liking the m16a3. Have that gun with a holo sight with foregrip and suppressor and its hard to stop.

As far as the engineer class I have been playing it a lot more too, just not as much as assault. I love using the mtar. My only gripes about it is that it is only a close quarters gun and it takes way too long to reload comparative to other carbines. That is a beast of a gun on its on. Seems like when I have that gun the only way someone can kill me is if they get me from behind or I'm reloading. If you haven't unlocked it, bust your tail right now to try and get it.

Thanks for the advice on the MTAR. I'll have to check that one out.

Any advice out there for switching to a silenced weapon? I keep finding myself in situations defending flags where I KNOW I'd be able to hold down the fort longer if I wasn't burning a hole in the enemies mini-map every time I squeezed the trigger.

I've been hesitant to adopt it because I don't like the prospect of losing accuracy at distance.

I second that. The freakin MTAR definitely wins up close gunfights that I usually lose. Rate of fire is crazy. Definitely just for up close situations though. What I'll do is run it with RPG/SMAW also equipped, and anyone who's standing still at range is gonna get a rocket instead of trying to hit them with the MTAR.
