Then it syncs and plays in whatever format is on the Blu-ray.
Initially, I thought it might be some issue arising from the cable I was using or my employing the second HDMI output on the OPPO. However, I have to go through the same procedure if I switch to another input to play, say, my Wadia or even my tuner.
Anyone have an idea of whether this is a fixable software problem or is a hardware failure needing repair back at Theta Digital?
HDMI crap like this is - no fun!!!
I can tell you all about it!@@@
My now gone Marantz UD9004 HDMI into CB3 HD had serious issues with the CB3 HD not recognizing multi-channel PCM bitstreams and only recognizing incoming two channel PCM instead.
I also picked up an Oppo 93 and initially for a few weeks no issues at all, but I was also using the Marantz and not using the Oppo full time. But just before the new Theta Compli I ordered had come in, the Oppo also started having serious issues with the CB3 HD not recognizing multi-channel PCM bitstreams and only recognizing incoming two channel PCM instead. Thrning off and back on the Oppo sometimes would cure the problem, sometimes it wouldn't.
Well, the UD9004 is sold. The Oppo 93 isn't being used. The Theta Compli Blu is PERFECT, no problems at all. I am a happy camper. My "thoery", which has not been verified by any "Deep Throat" within ATI-Theta, is that Theta used the Compli Blu as they set up programming for the CB3 HD, and that the two are a match made in heaven!!!@@@
