Walking back to my office from a meeting and just got so excited I had to take a pic of the Garden.

PLAYOFFS START TONIGHT!!! Definitely watching the Philly/Pitt game. Should be a great starter.

I'll be watching that game, too! Unfortunately, I won't get home until sometime in the 2nd period. Half a game is better than NONE! And it will have to be on the 65". I don't have a cable box on the projector yet.

65", you poor baby....

Directv just informed me that my HD DVR for the basement was dropped off this morning and my 25' HDMI cable came in from Monoprice. Wife will probably have the good tv but thats fine with me. No projector yet but I can get the bar tv setup to watch the games tonight while I work on finishing the basement.

Not sure how much work I will get done but it sounds good...

What a great first night of Hockey!! I hate the Flyers but I hate the Penguins more so I was happy about that game. Good for Nashville, its just good for the game to have outside teams winning. And the Canucks can't lose fast enough.

Anyways, onto actual theater things. The 27" Planar Monitor I picked up looked nice with the HD DVR. It's good enough for now but I think an actual TV may work better there. There is no volume, input control from a remote for one thing. The speakers on it are very tinny also.

A FLYERS win is ALWAYS a great day of hockey!

QUESTION!!

I found an Onkyo 606 on craigslist for $50. Seller states it works fine but shuts down randomly and doesnt want to bother fixing it.

Looking up on Google it seems like he may have some loose wires or bad connection somewhere. Should I chance it???? He sounds like he cant be bothered with it.

That's a pretty good price. When ever I've had a problem with my older Onkyo's I have taken them to Tops Electronics off Rte 125 in Haverhill (Ward Hill). I think it runs about $80 for a diagnostics/quote and the fee is then applied to the repair. I've always found their service reasonable and quick.

It does sound good but $60 plus $80 for diagnostic plus any extra parts to replace starts adding up. I heard the HDMI board on those go too. I may throw a low ball offer at him.

Bruins 1-0. Great game last night. Washington was defending their roookie goalie a little too much and will never win if they dont up the offensive attack. They have to trust him.

Just wanted to give you an idea of what the total cost could be for the Onkyo.

Go Bruins!!! Go Celtics!!!

Of course and thanks. Haven't heard back so probably just let it go. Been looking at the new Onkyos or even snagging last years models on their site returbished.

Had my Daughters 11th B-day party on Saturday and at her request it was a Bruins Party. Wish I had the basement done but everyone crammed in the front room made it feel like the old Boston Garden.

Our friend offered to make her cake and she went above and beyond.

Took in a Sox game with my son, nephew and Bro-in-law Sunday

Did finally get some work done Monday, Patriots day. Not bad for my first set of stairs ever I think.

So, now that the Sox have started playing will progress slow down or speed up?

I'm a fan but not a huge one. Playoffs mostly because the season is just too long. Nice weather is the death of me working in the basement.

Not pleased with Kreijci and Seguin in my playoff pool. Please give them a kick in the backside for me.

Simply awful. The two top lines have been no where. But then again caps top lines haven't done much either. Really been a defensive series.

Hopefully the Bruins can fight through it and get out of this first round.

I just want to say, GO FLYERS!

You know what, I was pushing for them too. They look like the team to beat but watch out for that second round slump.

Bruins stayed alive but my heartburn is getting worse during games. My wife and daughter keep yelling at me for being loud. And for unleashing my best "Thor" impression on my coffee table when Ovechkin tied it.

It's only round one and I'm way too into it. Even watched the Kings kick out the 'Nucks in OT last night.

Watched that game on my bar tv/monitor and definitely want to upgrade to an actual TV. The picture is great but I hate not being able to use a remote for the monitor I have now.

Now we just need Ottawa to win and really screw things up.

That's kind of what I'm hoping for.

Second round slump? They had a fourth and fifth game slump! But they DID look better yesterday. Hoping an extra couple days of rest will give them a good boost in round 2.

I'm subscribed for the hockey talk! I'll stick around for the theater building.

Looks like this will be a fun build Puck25 - good luck!

Big game tonight! Sorry all but I'm a Rangers fan.

Should be 3 great games coming up. I am truely nervous for tonight. Bruins have to pull this out. I dont expect them to win another cup but getting out of the first round would be nice.

Very surprised the Rangers have had so much trouble with Ottowa. I expect the Rangers to finish it off tomorrow night though but you never know.

Watched the Devils / Panthers game last night. Very sloppy, very unskilled game play. Brodeur is looking old. (Coming from an ageing goalie myself ).

I want to complain but Boston has really had it good. Tough loss to take especially when you are sitting in the ER with your wife ( she been having stomach pains and fever but hopefully not too serious). I flipped on the tv to see what was going on in overtime and Washington scored at that exact moment. Great luck I have.

Did I mention it's my birthday too. Oh well. Flyers are my team now.
Yeah - tough loss last night. I was fine going into last night's game until I heard Mikey on sports radio on the way home last night essentially guaranteeing the Bruins win last night. We never win when they do that.....there should be a humble rule. Hope your wife is okay

So Bruins are out....Flyers are out..... Now what???

I have enjoyed watching the Rangers play but I also love that Brodeur and the Devils have made it this far. I think a Kings / Rangers final would be good.

Nothing note worthy really in the basement. Fixed the wall next to the stairs. Would like to some point do actual oak treads and a white sideskirt on the stairs.

Was browsing around here looking at all the work getting done in other peoples places and feeling low. Havent been working on the basement that much other than some minor stuff but been working on other things. My daughters room needed a good paint job. Put a ceiling fan in the dining room. Starting to dig into our bedroom now for an overhaul. That should get me ready for a nice fall finish in the basement when its a lot cooler down there.

My daughters room.

Someone gave us a beautiful bed but they painted it black. Broke out the sander and plan to paint it white.

Found a silverstone HTPC case for $40 on craiglist. Moved my old Dell into it pretty easily.

More room, better flow and just looks better in the rack
