Two "Sleeper" 2 ch Desktop Pro Audio Systems

Hey AVSForum Members, I was flipping through my local music store catalog and noticed two systems that have some great potentials for a great playback system and are less than a Lexus with the Levinson Branded Factory Radio.

System One:

JBL LSR 2300 Series Monitors and MSC1

LSR2328P

LSR 2010P

2 X

MSC1

Key features
Robust monitor construction (limiters, overload protection, and can handle abuse)
USB input (Mac / PC)
Room Mode Correction DSP (RMC)
Analog input
Dual Monitor output
Dual Subwoofer output

System Two:

KRK VTX Series and KRK Ergo RMC

KRK Subwoofers

2 X

Key features
Robust monitor construction (limiters, overload protection, and can handle abuse)
Firewire input (Mac / PC)
Room Mode Correction DSP (RMC) (Mfg Claimed 24bit/96Khz DAC)
Analog input
Dual Monitor output
Dual Subwoofer output

I think that the trend (here and elsewhere in modern Hifi) is that we all want some sort of Room Mode Correction and we want high quality playback. AND for some of us who sit at the computer most of the time why not incorporate good computer sound into the mix?

I figure, take one of these systems with dual subwoofers; a nice Audio Oriented Desk OR the Studio Monitors set up on some nice stands a few feet back from the computer & few feet from the back wall; and some room treatment one would have an excellent playback system that has all the modern belles and wistles AND the practical use location (our favorite place in front of the computer on AVSForum- of course )

Thoughts?

Do you own/have you listened to both of those systems? That is similar to what I am looking at price point wise so I am looking for some opinions. Do you find that your monitors block some of your sound with where you have your speakers mounted?

I don't own either. looking at their components, brand, and system theory I felt that these would be "A" way into Room Corrected High Fidelity.

The music stores that sell the products I listed sell all sorts of stands specifically for these monitors. In the picture provided example, again not my own, I'd imagine that those flat screens have some effect on the overal sound, but do not degrade it to the point of un-listen-able.

Sorry if I couldn't help, with a first hand opinion.
