One of my all-time favorite movies will be out on BD on June 7. Anyone else looking forward to this one?

Great news! The DVD was pretty sad.

I've reviewed this twice in the pre-1979 thread, here and here.

I've always wanted to see this, and I like John Huston and have all of his other movies out on Blu-ray so far. Hopefully this will be one of Warner's new-transfer and not old-master-dump titles.

From the Digital Bits: Warner Home Video has set The Man Who Would Be King for Blu-ray release on 6/7 (SRP $34.99) in Blu-ray Book packaging. Extras will include the Call It Magic: The Making of The Man Who Would Be King featurette.

Connery... Cain... Huston... MINE!

I can't imagine it wouldn't be. The DVD is terrible.

Exactly this movie has not looked good at home ever, I hope Warner put some work in to a new master

Excellent movie! Hope it gets the attention it deserves or I'll pass (psst, Warner?). June 7th just might be a great day now (this one AND Josey Wales).

I wonder how long until a standard edition comes out. I noticed that this one is a digibook. These Warner digibooks are marketed as attractive collectors' pieces and priced at a premium but at the same time they really don't make much of an impression (for me, at least) when they show them off with some lazy photoshop jobs for the book covers. The CLASH OF THE TITANS had a terrible book cover and the least I can say is that this one has a better book cover than that one.

Mine too, in fact we just watched this 2-disc (netflix) at our last movie fest featuring the guys "top ten" favs...can't wait to see and hear the BR offering although the story and the acting are what place this one near the top.

I'm hoping for a regular UK edition myself. They quickly re-released Clash of the Titans, but that was an exception, most of the newer Digibook titles are still not available as anything else, and for the older ones they've waited 1-2 years to release regular editions.

Dear WB,
If you must use rubbish cover art then never put the beautiful poster art in the BOOK!!
