Strange Lamp Probelm with Optoma H79 and H78DC3

Ok, I thought my lamp died in my H79 last night. Suddenly the red lamp light came on shortly after starting of the projector. So, after trying several times to get it to work (reseating the lamp and such) I switched the H79 lamp into my Optoma H78DC3 (hich had a non working lamp in it) and the H79's lamp works fine in the H78DC3.

The other lamp that was in the H78DC starts up fine on the H79, but shuts down after a minute or so (seems it actually runs longer than the "broken" lamp that runs perfect on the H78). The H78 lamps comes on and runs longer on the H79 then the H78 though.

I want to get a spare bare bulb to put in the housing, but I'm not so sure. This is really odd. Can anyone help me figure this one out?

Thanks1
