Tool to Increase Viewing Angle?

I just bought a Pro-Form Performance 1450 treadmill with an LCD screen in it. Unfortunately they didn't think to make the angle of the screen adjustable and I'm 5'3". That makes the viewing angle too great and all I see is gray shapes instead of the actual screen (it shows Google Maps while you run and it's the main reason I bought this treadmill). The viewing angle is pretty bad and I'd have to be about 5" taller to really see the screen correctly.

Is there something I can physically put over the 10" screen so I can see the picture? I'm guessing this is a long shot but I figured this group might have a MacGyver solution for me. I really don't want to have to take this monster treadmill back to the store.

Thanks for any suggestions!

the only solution I can recommend is to get some 5" workout shoes! Ha Ha but I think you are going to have to take the treadmill back! sorry

Yeah I thought about running in heels but in the end I decided against it.

I guess I could make one of those mirrored tubes we made as kids in order to see around corners. It's a stupid solution but I'm not sure there is another one. I really want to keep this treadmill.

The treadmill may have a video out jack for those who wants to project the image on a huge screen?

The only way I can think of would be to take the plastic frame off the treadmill, and physically put something under the screen to change the angle and prop it up. Not sure how the screen is actually mounted though. Maybe you could take a picture or two? Or give us a link to the treadmill?

Also, just curious, whats the Google Maps thing on it? Its a treadmill, which doesnt move, so I'm confused as to why you need a gps lol.

This is an effective and instant solution: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Yxw_kdg2cz...tformShoes.gif

Heres a picture of your threadmill: http://www.treadmilladviser.com/prof...ance-1450.html

The Dilbert solution would be to cut the legs on the side by about 5 inches instead of trying to adjust the console video screen. Save the pieces so you can restore it somewhat if you decide to sell your threadmill. Most people seldom exercize for long because its exhausting.

Ah right I realized there is another solution: Find a sheet of high refractive material and place it at an angle and it will bend the light for you but it might not bend it enough. The higher the refractive index the better. The image will also be compressed in height.
