Hey guys,

Great job with the site - very fast! I keep reading talk of vb4 being great but have heard difficulties in moving large forums to it.

Interested in your thoughts (even if by PM)

Thanks

From what I understand, it's not possible for a heavilly modified site of our size.

We looked at it a number of times. Put it this way, their last update had over 400 fixes. From what I have read, some of those that have large sites that made the move without thinking to much about it, they have to turn off a lot of the options. Maybe 4.1 will be better and we will look again.

Interesting first post.

I think its better to take a look at Xenforo instead, which can be found at www.xenforo.com

Thanks...well aware of it and also well aware they are currently in a lawsuit. So the future of the software is in question. As such, a large site such as AVS could not take that chance either until that is resolved. But yes, it seems very nice in it's current state of development. Being with VB for as long as we have, I know the developers of that software.

FWIW I have no problems and really quite like VB at AVS but my comments are only from a end users prospective, moderators or those using it more may have different opinions which I'd respect.
