Is it possible? Factory to HD in a flash?

autotoys.com told me that I could convert my 2005 toyota camry factory radio to HD as well as aux and usb connections with some sort of converter that they sell. I am a newbie and haven't the faintest idea how this could be done.

Can this be done for about $100 or what are my choices if any?

Will the sound quality be good? etc.

In other words, I can get the above features run through my factory radio. Sounds too good to be true. Is it?

Maybe they are referring to the JVC KTHDPK1 Transportable HD Receiver with Car Kit.......................

Yes they do sell converters/gateways for factory radios. If you have a factory radio with a Satellite button, you will be able to see HD Radio info (artist/title info). The converter emulates a factory Satellite tuner which plugs into the Satellite port of your factory radio. Some converters have a pass thru option to connect both your factory satellite tuner and HD Radio tuner. Some even have an aux input/ IPOD hookup. Look for brands like iSimple, Axxess, and PAC Audio. I have one in my Honda Ridgeline and I love keeping the factory look and hate having aftermarket parts stick out like a sore thumb.

There are some cons though.... My Isimple gateway will not allow more than 6 presets. My steering wheel radio controls now have a mind of their own (changing stations only). You got to do your homework and see what works with your car's factory radio the best.
