Thanks guys for your kind words. For now all is "well" as we are playing the waiting game brought on by multiple doctors......sounds fun right?!?! Don't even get me started. The joy of a $4000 CT scan basically for nothing thus far makes me smile from ear to ear. Hopefully we will get an actual "firm diagnosis" sometime soon but for now patience is key. She is actually feeling much better than she had been the past week but me being so meticulous I HAVE to know what is/was wrong and do what is needed to treat her back to good health.

Anyway I have headed back into the theater recently to start to knock out the rest of the screen wall, build a 2nd riser for my back row of seating, get my acoustic treatments hung and all the other "little" things on my list that have been waiting for me since the projector was hung. So to kick off my "weekend of progress" here we go.............

First here is the last picture of progress I posted waaaay back on page 27 just to catch us all up to date.....

Basically I built the 2 side and one column below the screen the same way that I did my 4 surround columns. I made 3 removable fabric covered frames for the front of each column to access the speakers behind.

I didnt take any of the side columns with the covers in place yet but will. Stay tuned more to come soon Oh and DAMN do I need a "real" camera!!

So I was able to get a few more things done yesterday though not as much as I wanted. I got all my acoustic panels wrapped (the black ones) and received the others from the UPS guy. Here are a few of them.......



I also decided to build a 2nd riser to sit on my main riser for the 2nd row to sit on. This had to raise my back row up roughly 7" as the main riser is a little over 5". I originally built the main riser so short as the seats I had "planned'' to purchase had a 7" lift on the back row. Well things changed and now I needed a bit more. I used 2x6's with 3/4" ply on the bottom and on top.


Getting the same carpet to wrap this riser was going to be a pain and very costly so I decided to try something else (cheaper). Menards had some black all weather carpet similar to what car speaker boxes are wrapped with. The stuff is jet black and matched well with my existing carpet. I wrapped the base separate.


A little spray adhesive and I was good to go. Then the top I used 1x2 select pine to create a lip on the top which gives me an overhang to conceal some lighting under the top. I painted the 1x2's black and will use the black carpet on the top. The riser is just a bit larger than my seats (hint) so most of it wont ever be seen.

Hopefully today I can get the rest of the riser complete. I also plan to get the acoustic panels up on the walls and some other odds and ends complete. Oh and did I mention a few weeks ago a MAJOR THEATER RELATED PURCHASE???

Did someone say snack tray???



I have opened them and they are in the theater but are not in place to take pictures. I will get them in place and some pics soon. Yes Craig they are from Roman. After a couple "road bumps" in the order/delivery/inspection process I think I finally have 5 seats in "new" condition and ready to rock complete with swivel (not snack)trays.......lol.

I did not mention the word "snack trays" that was Brad. I think he "may" have misread the empty boxes as they do not say "snack" they saw "swivel"..........Can California people read? Geeeesh!

Now I will proceed to DUUUUUUUUUUUCK!
