I've been using the ColorHCFR software for a while now with much success.
One thing I always run into is a bit of confusion on the best Contrast setting.
For LCDs, the ideal setting should get you an ftL reading 30 - 40 when measuring the 100 IRE window. I often find myself confused since this feels like a considerable range.
In general, is it more ideal to be at the lower end of the range, middle or higher end? Or, does it depend more on external factors such as room lighting, etc.?
I'm purposely not mentioning which LCD or metering device as I'm really only asking for general thoughts on the subject or advice about best practices.
Any help is greatly appreciate.
