Building media room: Need Help!

We are building a new home and finally have the space/funds to build a dedicated home theater/media room! I've been wanting one of these for a while and want to make sure I do things right, the first time, from a design perspective. Can you help me with any insight into any changes you would make to the basic layout (we are still a few weeks away from framing).

This will be a 7.2 system with a projector/screen and 2 rows of theater seating (no equipment has been purchased...lots of research to be done here....)

In the back of the room, there is a cutout for a bar sink, refrigerator and a component cabinet that is accessible from the rear (attic)

I am seeking input on:
1) Door placement - Originally the architect had the door on the side, but this seemed to interfere with the side speaker placement. So I am thinking that a door in the back of the room would be better. I am worried about my rear speaker placement now that the door is there. I think this will depend on the type of speakers that I purchase, but I am not interested in any in-wall/in-ceiling speakers for this system. Need advice....
2) Noting the size of the room, what is the optimal placement for the platform? Is a 6" setup appropriate? Ceiling height is scheduled to be 9'.

What else am I missing? Overall impressions? Good design, what things do I need to look out for?

Thanks!!!!!

We need more information:

Type and amount of seating
Screen size and position on the wall (height)
Alternative door locations (not shown)

There is a riser height calculator in the sticky threads, I'm betting 6 inches isn't enough.

Talk to us about your thoughts on soundproofing, speakers types/location, front of the theater design and prewiring for projector and speakers.

Sorry it took me so long to respond. I will probably do a 106" Da Lite fixed screen. I am not sure on position on the wall, as this is configurable at this point. I expect seating for 6 (2 rows of three seats).

Thanks for the riser height calculator nod...I found it.

I am considering the following speakers:

- Energy (CF-70 Towers, CC-10 Center, CR-10 Surrounds)
- PSB (Image T6 Towers, C5 Center, S5 Surround)
- KEF (iQ50 Towers, iQ60C Center, iQ10 surround)
- Aperion (Intimus 6T Towers, 6C Center, 5B or 4BP Surrounds)
- Paradigm (SE 3 Towers, SE Center, SE1 Surround)
- Monitor Audio (RX8 Towers, RX Center, RXFX or RX2 Surrounds)
- Axiom (M60 v3 Towers, VP150 Center, QS8 Surrounds)

The front of the theater design will be the fixed screen mounted to the wall. Center channel below the screen...not sure what else I can tell you. It is being wired for 7.2

so door options are either in the back right corner or somewhere on the right wall which faces the hallway (trying not to interfere with the side speakers or the rear speakers.
