I didn't wipe them down with anything other than a dry cloth, so yeh, a wet sponge will make them look better. I just didn't have the time as they take about 15-20 minutes each to box up. It doesn't look like it should take that long, but I have to put the shipping box together, cut the inner cardboard to the correct size, hot glue the foam, cut the thick corner protectors, wipe down the speaker, take off the grill to make sure they look okay, then pack them all up, print labels, etc.
That's great news that there was no damage. I guess my packing skills on those should be fine then. The massively thick corner protectors I found probably helped a lot. I used a hot glue gun to hold that thick foam to the piece of cardboard. Just curious, did it stay in place? I thought it would keep the speaker in place inside the box.
I'm not going to have gobs of perfect cabinets though. If they have dings that show wood, they get gutted. Kinda sucks because the cabinet is still solid, but doesn't look really good.
I just filled the back of my pick up truck with empty cabinets! Some looked okay, but their grills were a bit rough. Not sure how to handle that. But for $45????? Still a good deal.
Then again, these would be easy to rebuild anyway, so getting the guts isn't that bad.
