Hey Josh,

Just saw this post. Are they really nice shape and are they the plastic ones- the new style 8330a? Any pictures?

Thanks,

Robert

I am curious if some JBL 2506 stands for 2360 horns are still available. I already have the horns and throat adapters ;-)

I've been meaning to PM Erich about this as well; perhaps he'll see it here. smile.gif

2360 horns rarely find a good home and often aim to the dump. I wonder what people do with throat adapters and bases. Those horns are too big for home, and too old for theaters. Is the 2360 one of JBL's most unloved horn? smile.gif How come despite its size, it doesn't go below 500Hz? cool.gif

It does and can but I think the technicals about it's "limit" being ~500hz are moreso based upon the capability of the compression driver and it handling those lower frequencies at commercial output levels.

The bases that I had were wooden and they got pitched. I may have kept a couple, but I'd have to double check.

I have all the throat adapters.

There was an audio link that showed someone cutting about 8" off the outer portion of those big horns, but I'm not sure where it is.

Hmmm... Seeing that eBay has no stands offered, and that anyway those are quite heavy to ship, I will produce a small batch of JBL 2506C stands made from aluminum to cut on shipping costs (1/3 the weight). I need some made for myself, anyway. Making a pair of 5 pairs will be the same work.

As I could not source BL 2506 stands anywhere, I just had five sets made. My company designs racecar parts, so stands was a pretty quick job. They are laser cut from aluminum and lighter than the original stands (cheaper to ship too). They should be bolted to a piece of plywood for improved rearward stability even though the pictures shows they got tested with rubber feet. I have 4 extra sets available.

Those look really nice Lee! PM sent. smile.gif

I bolted the stands to a piece of 1/2" thick Russian Birch plywood with countersunk bolts from the bottom up. It's now very stable and stiff. enough.
