Nice. we converted the custom wine cellar into our home gym space, cause we don't drink!

Time to take up drinking... Wine drinking is as important as exercising (and a whole lot more enjoyable)!

I just sold my 06 4S (black and Sand Beige like yours). It had 25K miles and loaded. Great time to sell a used car. Good luck.

I'm not really into cars but here's my Cayman. I put a whopping 1500 miles on it last year.

One of my hobbies is photography. Here are some recent landscape shots

In case any of you are Canon gearheads:

Jeff and all other car enthusiasts...

I am taking a straw poll regarding my Porsche options in that as noted earlier I am in search of a Porsche 911 C4S/Turbo with the 993 body of which I went to see two today...

I have summarized the two cars in the attached PDF/spreadsheet noting that I have highlighted the differences for ease of comparison...

I am aware that the pricing is higher than it would be in the USA but remember that I live in Canada and this is one of the prices we pay for living here...I am not terribly interested in bring a USA car to Canada as I feel there is comfort from purchasing locally as both vendors have agreed to have an inspection performed by a world renown Porsche dealer here in Toronto...but, that said, feel free to comment on this as well...

Am looking forward to your thoughts after which I will tell you where I am leaning...

Thanks. I wish HT gear resale value held up the way glass does. I'd have much better gear. A 400 2.8L bought several years ago has the same value today.

The 7D is a nice body if the AF is without issues. I've owned three and two were lacking in AF. The 1D MKIV is awesome even at high ISOs but I still prefer full frame.

Rob,

Great photos!

What camera settings, lens, shutter priority, etc and filters did you use? Could you give an amateur like myself explanation as how you took such gorgeous photos?

Thanks!

Thanks Jeff. Both shots were with a 5D MK II and a Zeiss 21 Distagon (manual focus lens) held with a Gitzo tripod and shutter release cable. They were shot in manual mode (I believe it was F/10), ISO 100, and several minutes exposure time (tripod mounted) using a 10 stop ND filter and a B+W circular polarizer. Editing was done in Lightroom 3 on a 27" IPS panel monitor.

The toughest part of the shots were retaining a bit of patience. It was very windy with plenty of blowing sand and salt water. When exposure times are in the minutes wind causes tripod shake and also defocuses (manual focus).

Very cool. Thanks for the explanation . But why 'minutes long exposures'? What effect does that provide than a far shorter exposure?

Gorgeous stuff!

Thanks. The ten stop ND allows for the long shutter time. The long exposure allows for the capture of the motion of the water and results in the softened look of the waves and ocean in general. It also allows for the visualization of the mist and ocean spray.

How does a 10 stop ND filter allow for such? that it is so stopped down (and dark) that it allows very little light in (hence need for ultra long exposures)?

Thanks!

Thanks!

It then allows for a more "fluid" capture of movement (usually water, clouds, etc.). Another interesting use is photographing urban environments where you want to eliminate people and vehicles in motion.

Here is a link to my GT2....we have not dynoed her yet buy after the last round of upgrades we expect her to make close to 800 rwhp on C16.

My SC M3 is in there, she dynoed 644 before the motor blew. The Infinity and Cayenne Twin Turbo. Have been sold.

I have a C63 and an E350 also but no pics on that link.

These are from a photo shoot we did for fun last summer

Here is one from a cruise last year:

CM,

You must have a hell of a time in the morning. I would stress out over which I would want to drive that day. Or have you assigned certain ones to certain days of the week? Which is your daily?

Thanks. There is a good story behind my car involving a huge internet spat (car forums are evn worse than this forum in that regards) between myself and a gent by the name of Jamie Carter.

Jamie is famous in the Supra community (or maybe infamous is a better description) for calling people out on forums and then flying out and racing them for money. Jamie also built the first 700 plus rwhp GT2.

Well, Jamie called me out and flew into my town to race me. I normally would not agree to a street race but al my friends were on my case.

Here is what happened. Oh, and this was before my new full 3 inch exhaust and a new tune that allows me to run higher boost. 2 days later the car I ran against did 207 at the Texas Mile

Awesome, what does it make "599" hahaha

I had the great pleasure of being "Nanny" to a Carrera GT belonging to one of my Clients for a week last summer as he let me borrow it (and he insured it) for me to drive my good lady to Lake Como where we stayed at the Tremezzo. A very nice bonus for a job well done on my part, if I do say so myself. A 750km round trip that I will never forget.....a stunning car, with a stunning girl and a great destination, what more could you wish for from a holiday......

That is a hilarious video. What a fun time.

Though I have no plans to mod my Turbo S at this point, I can see the day down the road where I might. Particularly after I spend 2 days at Porsche's driving school in Alabama (May). I figured, I may as well get some help in driving at this point.

Since my car has a PDK transmission, there seems to be some unknown data on whether the PDK transmission can handle so much more HP... So, I have to wait and see.

Great video, thanks for sharing! That was incredibly fast (on a highway)!

Mike,

That is one gorgeous car and big time mods! And those women, I gotta get to some Porsche events!

Ceramic brakes? If so, how long do they last you and how often do you track?

Also, you added the GT3 seats?

How often do you track?
