I have a feeling us day and date folks will be seeing a lot of that as well as getting a bit owned for the first couple of days by the folks that already have these maps down.
I watched the vids on the MW3 forums for each map, they all look decent. Nothing really jumps out at me as a Trailer Park, Favela, or Nuketown but I can't wait for tomorrow to jump in and check them out. Is it me or is everyone moving faster than before?
HSV.. I cant believe you have the balls to post that. I shouldnt have pushed you though, I knew what the PB meant.. lol. Everybody just keep quiet and act like nothing happened. Move along people.. nothing to see here.
Anyways.. I do have some good news:
Looks like Amazon has already charged my card:
11/7/2011 Pending Amazon.com $46.99
The Hardened edition was $99.99.. I had a $20 bonus credit applied from when I purchased Gears3 & $33 credit from trading in GT5. Thats why the total price is only $46.99
Daekwan, I saw this last time you ordered a game from Amazon where your total ended in $xx.99. All release day orders I've ever placed with Amazon add $0.99 for release day delivery and end up being $xx.98. Unless you have Prime, maybe that's a different story. May want to verify...
Its always like that.. the first week belongs to the absolute hardcore COD nerds (no offense BD lol) who bought the game early, have the study guides, been watching the youtube video tips, know what guns/perks/killstreaks/hiding spots are best.
But by the time the 1st month has passed.. and everybody has atleast one prestige under their belt the advantage is gone. And players who naturally excel in FPS games.. due to smart play or team work start to take over. I remember with MW2.. I was frustrated as hell because it felt like I was always getting killed and didnt know why. By the time I hit my first prestige my KDR was back to a 1.00 and now I was able to handle myself in 1 v 1 or 1 v 2 situations, what areas to avoid, I knew the maps/guns/perks and more importantly I played smarter overall.

Yep Primetime here baby!
If you use it enough, it pays for itself pretty quickly. What I like most about Prime is that it means I no longer need to run to Best Buy, Target or Walmart for most goods. Chances are I can wait 2 days for delivery to get the best price, and if I really-really needed.. order by 6pm and its there the next day.
Its absolutely amazing for getting things both cheap & quickly.

Wait a minute. Crow + SS + LT1 (sounds like a Camaro guy)
You arent also a member of Corvette Forum are you?
I usually lone wolf it in COD games and get my AVS teamwork fix in BFBC2, BF3 games, but I'd like to see what added dimension real teamwork (and cool people to play with) brings to the COD series.
I lurk on AVS a lot and don't post much. But like someone else said, I feel like I kind of know some of you just based on your posts here and in other threads. I'm more down with the Battlefield guys and know some of you from that series, but am looking forward to playing COD with the rest of you.

Yep. Honestly the competition these first few days has been BRUTAL. Im almost wishing they reset stats cause mine ain't too hot right now.
I'm got about 15 hours of MP in. The leveling goes pretty quickly, not as fast as blops, but probably the same as MW2.
There aren't really any standout maps for being great or terrible. Lots of variety. All of a consistent quality, none make me groan like derail or wasteland. Better than blops maps IMO as each map has a pretty consistent theme/design. Takes a couple weeks to shake this stuff out.
BD,
I heard there are 16 MP maps on the disc. Are all of those available for Survival Mode? Also, how many different Co-Op missions are there?
Thanks,
M-Dog
Yep. 16 survival and 16 missions.
The missions are pretty cool so far. One has you doing a certain mission from a different perspective. Some completely change it up. There's your standard target practice. Some require two people so I assume that involves one on the ground, one in the air.
I haven't really dug in that far solo since I'd rather play it coop, but what I have tried has been pretty cool.
Just happened to check Amazon again and BF3 is now trading in at $21! Alot of people must have taken advantage of that $40 deal. Glad I locked it in this morning, thanks for the post Daekwan!
Yeah. I was getting my arse handed to me pretty bad over the weekend. I managed to level up to 52 or 53 but my KDR is only .92 or .93 I think. I think I only have around 10hours of game time so it seems leveling up isn't too long. I also focused a lot on completing weapons challenges so I could level up faster and that got me killed a bunch too. Tons of times I would die holding a stinger and looking up at the sky...
I only played regular TDM except for two or three games of hardcore TDM. Some of the guys on there are insanely good. I've also seem some people in the high 70's for rank and even one or two already at 80. I was feeling like a chump for a while, even more since I'm missing dead silence and almost feel naked without it.

I really think they should reset the stats. Not that it's going to matter in the long run, but still, it's the principle of the thing.
If you're at a 52 with 15 hours, it sounds like it's going to be quite a grind to get to 80. I'm assuming the last 10 or so have a ton of XP between them. Roughly guessing, it took me on average a bit over 25 hours for each Blops prestige.

But, like Daekwan said you're playing against all the hardcore l33t CoD fanboys. Once the game drops you'll do much better as you'll have more scrubs to beat up on.
I am not getting it on release day. There are still plenty of games that I need to finish and I am going to wait for it to go on sale. So, you are looking at 3-4 months from now.
Yesterday I finished God of War 2 and I was ready to play it over again with the unlocked costumes and weapon but I will do that another time because I want to start on God of War 3

MW2 was quite a grind also. At least with being able to permanently unlock weapons with prestige credits, the grind shouldn't be as painful.

I like it better thus way. In blops I felt like I had to give everything up as soon as I got it.

Funny you should mention it, I JUST finished God of War 3 yesterday. Awesome game with a sucktastic ending, IMO. But that's just me. YMMV.

bd, have you played much Team Defender or Kill Confirmed? Those 2 new modes sound great on paper, but I'm wondering if they play as advertised?
KC is great. It's like TDM but people have to come out of their holes. Things get crazy running for the tags. It's a lot of fun.
I didn't play much team defender because there just werent enough people playing it to consistently get in a non-laggy game. It was really chaotic and fast paced. It seemed like half the people playing couldn't wrap their head around what was actually going on.
KC is right under TDM. Mercenary is TDM/KC. Ground war is TDM/KC/DOM. They're pushing it hard...it's a great mode. Team defender is probably going to be more niche like HQ or dem.

That's good to hear. I figured I will be playing lots of KC.
