This is the fastest I have seen it in a while also
Unfortunately where I am living at, I can't get anyone to provide service so I had to go to Clear. Worse part is, I can see the tower across the street that services me.
^ Insane. I do have the option of going with Comcast which obviously comes at a price. That said I never have any lag/connection issues with on XBOX but I can only sit and daydream of what it would be like if it were faster.....
Xbox should have a different service for people who have pings more than 50ms to the nearest servers. Seriously though. Separate lobbies. It would improve the gaming experience for all parties. Except when wanting to play with friends who have ****** connections. But hey, friends don't let friends have ****** internet
Anyway, bandwidth doesn't matter, (consistently) low ping is much more important.
For all you "it's not the game, it's you" haters out there....
All day every day. No throttling or speed boost or any other tricks. Just raw bandwidth. Just taken now, prime time on the east coast. Is it safe to say "it's not me, it's you"

plz tell me you do some game streaming with that upload!
I don't know how much my play would improve, if any, if I had the connection that some of you guys posted. I do all right, but damn if I had PJ's connection maybe I could be a God - just a little ribbing PJ
For those of you who have Comcast, is it worth the sh$%^7* customer service? My ISP has golden CS, but I can't get the upgraded connection because I'm too far from the tower. Can you get standalone internet with the higher speeds? The 25mb download packages on the Comcast site include basic cable, which I don't need.
I got a text message from amazon hours ago and just now got an email saying it shipped. They may have a few hundred thousand messages to send out and they may be doing them in small groupings. Hopefully everyone gets their games tomorrow, especially Daekwan. I don't want to tell my wife I knew the guy who went on a UPS shooting rampage.

Pay no attention to the kick-ass broadband behind the curtain!! The answer to PJ's god mode has been revealed!!
Not too bad but doesn't feel as smooth as Fios when I had it (with lesser speeds). Something about Time Warner that is just weird. Others seem to have the same feeling. My father's connection is 10/1 and is just terrible with TW.
First review I've seen. I think the embargo for european journalists might be up sooner.
5/5
Chopped up a bit to skip some of the descriptive stuff:
Quote:
Modern Warfare 3 excels in what it does because it's abundantly clear that its developers knew exactly what they were making. They understood the pacing, the problem with choke points, the need to keep things constantly fresh and frenetic in a linear, plot-based shooter. As a player you're catapulted from one scene to the next, with time to take everything in and enjoy the ride but never time to languish. No section outstays its welcome, or forces you into an endless cycle of killing bad guys. Here, on the odd occasion when enemies do respawn, it's to illustrate the fact you can't handle the odds and have to escape before you're overwhelmed. And the signposting, your goal as an actor within the story, is handled immaculately.
It's comfortably the best Call of Duty campaign yet, with consistent high points and none of the lows that have occasionally punctuated past games. And despite the quickfire nature of its scene or setpiece changes, it's around 8 hours long, the ideal length for a shooter of this ilk. Any Call of Duty developer has always had to tread a fine line to achieve the right balance, but here Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer walk this line with confidence, never faltering or putting a foot wrong. It's a remarkable balancing act, and one I can't praise enough.
Modern Warfare 3 is a shining example of refinement and improvement. It's familiar, sure, but here familiarity doesn't breed contempt, just respect and reward for those who've dedicated so much time to the series. And for new players, it's the perfect starting point, more accommodating and encompassing than ever. The series has always been renowned for elements like the excellent sound design, the gloss, polish and compulsion of its gameplay, but with Modern Warfare 3, Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer have created a game that not only lives up to the brand hype but exceeds it. A game where the mass appeal is justified, and the expectations are met. A game which is undoubtedly going to be played for a long, long time to come, and deservedly so.

All I have is comcast internet. I run Direct TV and cell phones.
Is it a bad sign that the COD Elite website is down already?
Elite has been going up and down in pieces all day long. This morning the guns didn't have clip sizes listed, now it does. Seems like it'll be in flux for a bit.

Game is working fine.
Did you register your Elite account yet with the Hardened edition? How does it work, can you do it through Xbox Live or do you have to go through a PC? I have an account setup with my GT attached but I haven't been able to log in today to see what it is like. I wasn't in the beta so I don't know if I even can right now.
It sucks that one or two internet companies can dominate the market in an area and make it very difficult to get what you want. It would be like certain areas of the country only being able to buy Ford/Toyota and other areas Chevy/Honda. I can't get Fusion broadband because the technology is incompatible with the AT&T terminals. My company can't just go in and build them and AT&T is not going to help a competitor.

You have to do it through XBL. I registered it but elites not fully functional or even working ATM so I haven't really been able to try the premium stuff out.
