that's because you think it's 1998, and people still "pull the plug" when they want to leave a game without something being recorded. get some kills and deaths, then sign out of XBL during the game, and see what happens. i tried it, and my kills and deaths were NOT recorded, when i signed back on and checked my kills and deaths in the leaderboards...

the ONLY time it will record them is when there is a host migration, which also happened in BLOPS as well. trust me when i say something, this isn't my first time playing a COD game...

I know and that's why I am upset. They just made their billion but the sad thing is it was effortless. Rehash previous CoD even down to the code. Sure the campaign mode took some time and they had to create all new maps and blah blah blah.

It's only a matter of time the greedy bastards will get what they deserve.

Whatever they have done with the lag compensation "fixes" has only made things significantly worse for me. I was attempting to jump between TDM / DOM / and Mercenary last night and it was almost unplayable. Fix this shyte already...

Worst lag since the game came out for me last night. And I generally have 4 full bars.

Even still, those games last night were a blast. One of these days I'm going to take Dubs shotguns and stick them where the sun don't shine

How you figure?? everyone still buys it every year and then complains, they don't care they already have everyone's money and they will get it again next year, in fact they figured out how to double their money with elite.... until people stop buying CoD they will keep doing the same thing..

I don't but here is to hoping that they do. You are right though. We will continue to buy into their lies every year because we got a little taste of something that we liked and we wanted more. CoD4 gave us hope but everything after that took it away little by little and what they took away was our focus on enjoying the game and moved us more on how it isn't as fun as it used to be.

We have no choice but to play the latest CoD because the older ones are hacked up and the creators have no intention of fixing them.

Give it a few years! I think it was Jammy that posted a great article about the future consoles, and how the big FPS games will stack up against each other. Point of the story, the BF series has basically back-end designed itself for the newer technology coming out (just take a look at the PC version of BF3 and you'll get an idea). While the COD series is "king of the hill" at the moment, it is using older technology and will be behind the proverbial 8-ball when the new consoles come out.

The more I play this game, the worse I seem to play. I don't remember that happening on the other CODs. Quite the opposite actually.

I have not been online in 2 days, but I will try to check tonight to see how the lagginess goes. I did see some pretty sweet looking deals for AT&T Uverse for voice & data in my area, any opinions versus Comcast here?

It definitely used to work to just dashboard and it would not record kills or deaths, would not break your winstreak, but would give you a loss. I heard that the friday update changed this though, so it records stats even if you leave. I assume there is still a way to trick it, probably if the host dashboards (or if you are the host and dashboard), it won't record them, but otherwise I think it now records kills and deaths if you dashboard. Don't know if it has an effect on your winstreak or not, but I hope not, because you shouldn't break your streak if you legitimately lose power or internet or whatever.

i know but brand power is amazing, for example when activision bought the guitar hero name, but EA got the actual guys that produced the game, Guitar hero sold very well despite the fact (IMO) the games took a turn for the worse after activision got a hold of it, but the general public just knew the name GH, in fact it was funny seeing all the people talking about how rock band ripped GH off!!!! It has to kill the old IW guys that are seeing activision rake cash off of a game that is basically their design, i mean all MW3 did was a couple of minor changes and everyone pretty much agrees the game is not as good as when the original IW guys had it....
I am not arguing with you, i love BF much more than CoD, but the reality is it will be a while before the CoD flame dies out, especially considering so many people will prepay for map packs (elite) before the game even comes out, i mean i will give activision this much they are very smart because a lot of people would not buy those map packs now, but they already have their money!!!

i didn't say dashboard, i specifically said sign out, which is completely different because when you dashboard you're still signed in...

try this. go to the leaderboards and check your deaths. then join a game, and purposely die say 5 or 6 times, then sign out. and by sign out, i mean guide button, X, yes. then sign back in, go back to the leaderboards, and check your deaths. i'll bet you anything the amount of deaths you have now is the same exact number of deaths that you had before you started the game...

I log into Elite via my laptop and everything works fine there. I can see all the stats I want and can stay in game. They extended everyone's membership by a month.

According to the premium content on the "What's Included" page, we are getting everything. The monthly DLC they said would be over a 9 month period so they have until February to start that.

They even reused some of the same buildings from previous cods. Activision doesn't care though. They'll milk cod to death and then buy the next big thing.

Except they may not milk it like they did with the GH franchise. As popular as it was, it can't hold a candle to the CoD series of games and I think even with a D-Bag like Kotick leading them, Activision is going to tread lightly when it comes to mucking up what is arguably the most popular and profitable entertainment media product in society.

I hope I didn't give off the wrong impression but to be honest I don't care if they make billions of their product. However, it does bother me when the product is buggy. Do I enjoy playing CoD? Yes! I absolutely do...when it works.

Do you all remember when I was on a break from CoD and how I really enjoyed playing other games? It's because those games just worked. I expect MW3 to work so that I am not questioning my skill. I know I am good and I took to the time to learn the maps and construct my own tactic for winning but when all that gets nullified due to unfair balance issues, you can see why I may open my mouth from time to time.

I'll have to try it. Have you tried it and verified it since friday?

I'm with you dude. Nothing worse than lag issues causing my mediocre to slightly above average game to tank into pitiful. I also value things that just work.

What's your issue jitu? Lag?

When I step out of KC game mode I get hit with lag and crappy connection. Once in a while I experience lag in KC also. Host migration is happening a lot more. Can't kill anyone with Reaper or AC-130 sometimes and I would drop it right next to them too. Javelin and C4 does more damage than any of those mentioned killstreaks and thats just ballocks!

That's my issue, but it happens so randomly that it makes it more frustrating. I've explained that I have a rock solid connection, pretty darn fast, and have no issues with any online gaming.....except MW3. My son and I both frequently encounter matches where there is a substantial amount of lag and sometimes it is so bad that it drops the connection. We've also begun to see a lot of matches where Host Migrations take place multiple times during a single TDM game. In the last few days, lag has gone from a seldom occurence to an occasional occurence, and it's starting to impact my gameplay, I feel.

Yeah they have toned down the killstreaks big time. For the better IMO. They are not very powerful. You're lucky to get a few kills average, maybe 8-10 kills tops if you're lucky even with the best killstreaks. Compare this to a minimum of 10 kills, 15-18 kill average for a chopper gunner in BLOPS, with as many as 26 I think was my tops, maybe 10 kills average for a chopper gunner in MW2. The killstreaks are there, and fun, but are not as over the top powerful as in previous games. IMO this is OK though, I feel they are better balanced to not make everyone rage so hard.

Sucks that the lag is hit or miss. I totally understand that. I've been the victim the better part of BLOPS, and for the time between thanksgiving and last weekend in MW3. Finally, they fix it for me (it's literally perfect) and I'm loving it, but everyone I play with now hates it because it's broken for them I really hope they can sort it out so the majority is happy.

How many people experiencing lag are playing split screen with other players? Or, if not playing split screen, how many laggy rooms are caused by multiple pairs of split screeners?

Since the early days of xbox, split screeners have always seemed laggy to me. I'm not sure why they decided to let them in given COD4 didn't have them.

Ok so I have tried turning off theater mode to see if lag was any better and since I see lag in GW more I played GW and it didn't make a difference. Then I got to wondering, well turning off my theater mode wont help because others have theirs turned on and since we are all connected, 1 person wont make a difference. So, I wonder if everyone turned off theater mode, would it help with lag? No way to know I guess???
