So in a fit of rage I exit the lobby only to find out (guess what?) I had HOST.

I get host: I lag. I don't get host: I lag. I play with friends: I lag. I play alone: I lag. Lag lag lag lag LAG LAG LAG!!! Argh!!!

I've gone back to Black Ops-- the game I used to bitch about incessantly-- and you know what? Black Ops still has frame rate issues and WTF lag moments...... and it STILL plays 1,500% better than MW3! I just don't get it. What's the secret to enjoying this game as 99% of my friends list is on this game EVERY NIGHT and I'm sick of playing alone?

After the last 2 days I am feeling the same way. I feel useless in the game, been mostly in last place when normally I am top 3. my k/d dropped .05, I try to be the team player and I can't even do that

best night I had was Thanksgiving Eve, I actually had fun..
I joined a game with Jitu on Wednesday and I went 2-17 until I raged quit

Since they fixed the Type 95 in a hotfix, I need to find a new gun, any recommendations???

also I can't find a strike package I like anymore, the rare times when I get one
Whats everyone's setup that does not get shot down every time? Support & Assault. I don't even bother with specialist, because I can't get past 4 killstreak

As far as I know, the only thing they changed about the Type 95 was its accuracy/spread when firing from the hip. I've seen no change in anything else with it - if it's your gun of choice, I recommend you stick with it still.

Last night's GW was really bad. From moving in slow motion to shooting rubber bullets and semtex that can't kill anyone within 5 feet radius...it was just so frustrating. I play solo and bring my KDR up only to play GW and loose all that in an instance.

#MW3 players will also notice a title update tomorrow morning when they connect. This will address "Host Disadvantage" / "Lag Compensation".

I run blind eye so I never worry about air support. I still get hit with the odd predator when I'm too close to a team mate and I sometimes can't get far enough away from a stealth bomber but that's it.

Maybe I'm lucky but I don't experience many issues with lag in GW. I did see a few host migrations the other day, but it seemed like the host quit those games. For the most part though I have a lag free experience.

Were you in a party? If so, then yes I would say you are definitely lucky.

I wasn't affected during our ground war session, but in our sixer of geezus, someone, desperado, mystaphyer we got absolutely beat up for a few rounds

Came home last night after a business dinner for a couple of collegues...

At Buffalo Wild wings.

And of course by business dinner I mean beer. Lotsa beer. Copious amounts of beer.

Really to much beer.

My question in all of this is you folks who drink while playing, how do you actually kill anything?

I was dreadfull. Just plain awfull till I sobered up. At least Mrs. Steelhouse was still consistantly killing team mates accidently.

Daekwan would be able to answer this well. Unfortunately he is no longer among us on the forum.

Guys, can anyone recommend a place where you can fall 30 feet or more to your death? I know it sounds weird but I want to get the XP for doing it since it is a challenge in the barracks, but every where I jump off of I seem to just survive, guess its not 30 feet. If you could recommend a couple maps/locations because I don't seem to play on all the maps when I am on. Thanks.

I don't always run blind eye, but even when I do, I tend to make it a priority to take down aircraft (unless I'm like one kill away from a big streak or something and don't want to get shot while staring at the sky). Whether it's me that dies, or my teammate that dies from air support, that's one kill closer to winning for the other team. The less stuff in the sky, the fewer deaths for my team. Fewer deaths for my team = better chance of winning. Easy math for me.

One might go so far as to say the people running blind eye are the ones that should be taking down the aircraft since they have better chances of doing so uninterrupted by the aircraft, not to mention the benefits of blind eye pro.

But that's just my style of playing. I'm not too great of a player, so I feel I benefit my team more when clearing out the skies. Everyone has their differences I guess.

Edit: I also share William's curiosity above. On my 4th or whatever prestige and I've yet to get this challenge on any of them.

I have a range where I get in the zone and I find it difficult to stay there. It's usually at about the 4 beer point. I don't go drastically downhill until maybe beer 7 or 8, but I also dip, so it kicks in quicker for me at that point.

Anyway, I guess it's just something you get used to if you do it often enough, which I'm sure is something most people could care less about doing. Might roll to the scotch for this weekend though. I got a nice bottle of 18 Y.O. discounted to $45.

I was thinking about doing what sandy ravage did on one of the lie stream where he would take a shot every time he got AC-130. That was for MW2 though. It's way too easy to get AC-130 in this game and if I took shots for every AC-130 I would get effed up after 2 matches!

Jump into the well (by the canons) on Seatown.

Those sir, were some serious cØckbags

That match we had on Lockdown made my night though, 40-5 is by far the best of done on this game to date. That match on Seatown is the kind of things that gets controllers thrown... that was damn frustrating!

Man I am sorry I had to bail out on you and Eric but I was so mad after those matches. All I wanted last night was to relieve some stress from work and this being my only outlet, I wanted to quit before I made myself even more stressed out.

Alright fellas, I need some advice.

I'm currently playing on a 56" JVC Rear Projection that I bought almost 5 years ago. Its showing its age and I have trouble spotting things in shadows and etc. so I'm looking to purchase a newer, smaller set. Any suggestions?

I'm torn between getting a 27" or 32" and whether it should be a computer monitor or regular LCD tv.

I believe computer monitors have a faster response time? The reason I ask is because I actually need a computer monitor anyway so this would kill two birds with one stone. Also, I'm looking to spend < $400.
Thanks dudes!

I think I'm going out for happy hour and then maybe for a bit to see a small band play at a local bar with a couple friends, but I hope to be on after tonight.

I know there were at least 2 groups going last night, so I apologize to Mrs. Steelhouse for having to ignore her invites. Depending on who is grouped up tonight, I'm sure I'll see some of you later on.

I actually just switched from playing in my living room on my 60" plasma to my 24 inch computer monitor. The difference is mind blowing. I actually went out and bought a brand new 27" computer monitor to allow for the HDMI input, but then found a DVI to HDMI converter cable so I'm sitting with a 27" monitor in the box taking up room.

I think I paid about $300 bucks for the monitor, and if you're somewhat into gaming, monitors are head and shoulders above regular LCD TVs, at least for FPS and fighting games. Since you need one anyway, I highly recommend getting a monitor.

Edit: Hmmm I guess I could have just kept it short and sweet like Jitu.
