Here is a video of my issue on the 925. Blue trailings when whatching TV/BR/Video games and when objects/people move. Only occures in 2D, no problem in 3D. Below the problem in the "Resistance" PS3 video game. All options in the 925 menu are OFF.

My issue appears to be the same as yours in your video. When the screen pans from one side to the other, or when the camera scrolls across, you see a bluryness or dizzyness effect around the screen. Its very visible to me and almost gives me a headache watching it.

I think I will be returning my 832 because the motion artifacts are too much. Disabling the feature simply makes this an expensive 1080p set.
Has anyone else been having difficulty in getting the closed captions to work?

Followed the manual (pushed cc button on remote) and can't get the cc menu/display to pop up. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Overall very satisfied with the 832 we purchased from costco about a week ago. Matte screen cuts glare big time. Got the software update through wifi but haven't noticed any dramatic changes. Finding that picture quality is best in the "dynamic fixed" or "dynamic" with motion enhancement off or low....watched hockey playoffs last night and no puck artifacts. Getting golf ball artifacts no matter what setting. Regardless, we'll be keeping the 832.

After two emails I also called Sharp CS. He said I was the first to complain about the blurry effect. I was referred to page 28 of the 830 user guide where it says if its a problem turn it off. I asked why they promote a feature and then tell you to turn it off?
No answer. Asked if the complaint was going to go futher up the line so someone can look at the issue. Sort of got the idea of NO. Maybe if more people complain they will fix it.

OMG, it seems that the issue I had on the 925 is not fixed on the 83x...

Do you confirm that you see EXACTLY the same issue (see below image)? For me it was on slow or fast moves that generated big blue/purple trailings around objects or people. Quite frustrating because I was super happy with the overall performance of the TV.

I have this tv and mine does not have this issue. I have studied it trying to get it to exhibit what you guys are explaining, and it refuses to do so. Mine seems to be perfect. I guess I got lucky. I absolutely love my tv, and wouldn't trade it for anything else. I wish everyone good luck on this issue. I was also wondering how many of you use opc, and what setting you have for the lowest it will dim. I disabled the energy savings under power control, the standard setting( the one that allows video to be adjusted according to content). As soon as I disabled that the picture came to life! It's an amazing difference for me! Try it out and let me know what you guys think!

The problem is that the issue was not visible at the beginning. It appeared suddenly. Cool that you're not impacted but you should cross fingers! Just have a look at the 925 topic and you'll see that numerous persons have this problem. The bad news is that it seems to still be visible on some 2011 models
post #128 of 558
The issue that you are describing is not the same thing that everyone is talking about. They are talking about some motion artifacts like around a golf ball or hockey puck. Nothing like big blue and purple anomalies, at least that's what I gather.
Anyhow, would just like to say good luck with you choice!
hummm, look at knucklerama's reply. He said he has the same issue (see top of this page) :/
post #131 of 558
Yeah I see that now. My bad. I was just letting everyone know that my set exhibits none of this. So every set is not like this. Also just a reminder, let's not forget what we buy these tv's for. Sometimes it seems like we obsess too much instead of just enjoying them. I love the forum like everyone else here. It is good info, but if you let it you will spend all your time on here looking and searching for problems your tv might have instead of sitting in the recliner and enjoying what this tv has to offer. Just my 2 cents, and once again I apologize, I did not see that post of knucklramas.
I really like this TV. The only time I have seen this as a problem is while watching a hockey game with the motion enhancement turned on. I will see if its more than that once my son hooks up his PS3 to it.

Hi, I'm interested in this or the 830. Do these new ones have the lip syncing issues like the 810 and 820 when connected to a receiver? Are any of you coming from a plasma to this? Do you recommend it? Thanks
post #134 of 558
Seems like some folks are having problems and others aren't; kind of makes me wonder if there is a problem with some sets and not others (probably not) or a problem with the input of some that are having problems. If the problem also shows up on DVD, Blueray & video games that would seem to eliminate the input possibility unless everything is run thru an AV receiver. Could the receiver be the problem--------probably not? Like looking for a needle in a haystack!
I was in Sam's today and was watching the demo they were running on all the sets. The one of particular interest was a surfing video that showed large fast moving waves and surfers that were moving very fast. I didn't see one bit of motion or artifact problem on the 832. I don't know what the settings were because the remote was not with the set and no one was in the TV department. My experience with Sam's is the set runs on the setting as they are out of the box.
I called Costco today and they said they have no stock of the 832 and it did not show as on order---------makes you wonder if it's because of a lot of returns.
The jury is still out for me; i'm waiting for the 60 inch GT30 and ST30 Panasonic plasmas to come out next month before making a final decision even though I could care less about 3D.
The comments about Sharp CS are right on the money; their standard answer is I haven't had anyone complain about that.

I have the 832 I also had some jerkiness when the picture panned from side to side. I discovered the setting film mode was causing this. I also contacted Sharp and their response is as follows - When viewing High Definition from a Cable or Satellite box, I recommend turning off all motion features in the Sharp TV menu as the incoming signal is 1080i/60Hz. I recommend having motion features activated when connecting a Blu-Ray or HD Gaming console - I am quite happy with the picture quality of the set and Sharps answer makes sense all these motion settings are made for a high quality input signal so turn them off if you have cable or satellite and enjoy your set.

Yes, I did have this issue but I was able to correct it using my receiver (Pioneer SC-27).

Thanks for the info. It makes sense...and yes, I will enjoy my set.

I was also able to correct the lip-synching issue thru my receiver's delay settings(Onkyo TX-SR505). Had to do the same thing with my previous set which was a 50" 720p samsung plasma.

I'm really bummed but I've tried everything on this thread to eliminate the blurryness on this TV. I love the picture and all features but its a deal breaker. I've been recently reviewing the threads on the 70" sharp which I might try since I can afford it and have the space for the large size. This newer version doesnt appear to have this issues but lacks a few features I can live with. Maybe I have a bad unit but at this point, I'm ready to try something new and bigger. I really hope many others dont have the same issue after roughly 30 days of use.

What is meant by List #1 List #2 etc? Thanks

My 832 has developed a very dark upper left hand corner. Sharp's tech support asked me to send some pictures. They are sending me a new 835 (3D) as a replacement.

I was in one of the three Sam's Clubs in my area today and noticed they had reduced the price of the 832U to $1,898. I was talking to the sales person in the TV area and ask him to check stock. That store had two plus the one on display but he told me it was discontinued; they couldn't order any more. I had him check the other two Clubs and they also had some in stock. I checked Sam's Club on line when I got home and they are not listed on the web site period. Strange!

Has anyone been able to view avi files through their network? When I connect to my server, no avi files that are in my video folder show up, just wmv files.

Does this TV only play avi from the USB or am I missing something? I can play the same avi file when I load it on a thumbdrive and plug it in the port. I can't however find the file using DLNA.

Just picked up a 60" sharp aquos LC-60LE832U from costco. I had a samsung 58" plasma before but had to return it cause apparently im very sensitive to the "rainbow" effect while watching it. Anywhoo. My condo has basic cable included with the unit and with the samsung i was able to simply hook the cable up directly to the Tv and get a a few hundred channels both digital and analog. However with the new sharp tv, no channels are being detected, even switching between "cable" and "air" in the settings. Anyone experience the same problem before?

Have seen and really like the 60" but, alas, I am size constrained for my application. Nothing specific mentioned here yet, so I'm curious if anyone has experience with the 46" model? I just rec'd a coupon code and will very likely give it a 30 day in-home trial. Please post your thoughts if you own it, thanks.

BTW, some additional info that may be of interest to those contemplating this TV...

I can confirm the $100 price drop for the AQUOS Quattron 60" 240Hz 1080p LED LCD HDTV #LC60LE832U at my local area Sam's Clubs as mentioned by 43sbest. According to a conversation yesterday with the electronics department head honcho, there are more than (5) sets in stock at each location. He reports a few sets sold at each location over the past few weeks with no returns.

If you are price shopping, there are Sharp manufacturer instant rebate at the register coupons in the May 2011 BJ's MemberSavingsBook. In addition to the coupon I referred to in the above post ($100 off the AQUOS Quattron 46" 240Hz 1080p LED LCD HDTV #LC46LE832U valid 4/28/11-5/15/11), there is a $200 coupon for the AQUOS Quattron 60" 240Hz 1080p LED LCD HDTV #LC60LE832U valid 5/16/11-5/31/11. That drops the 60" to $100 below the just reduced Sam's price. If you have a BJ's Rewards membership (did I just say that!?), you receive another 2% cash back.

Note: BJs has a 30day return policy, 90days at Sams. Both require original register receipt and original packaging, neither has a restocking fee. Both offer the same third-party extended service contract from N.E.W. (terms can be found on the Sam's Club website under Service link). I believe this is the same contract used at Best Buy as well. The extended service contract starts after the manufacture warranty expires and includes in-home service. Cost of a 2-yr contract at my local BJs was $180 vs. $230 at Sams, or $90/yr x 2 vs. $115/yr x 2 respectively. However, if you have the Sams Preferred membership ($100 vs. $40 basic) and purchase any extended warranty, you automatically get that extended one additional year. So that's $90/yr x 2 at BJs, or $77/yr x 3 at Sams, not including the cost of membership. Or you could do a 1yr for $160 and get an extra year for free, making it $89/yr x 2 at Sams, not including the cost of membership.

Hope that info helps someone trying to sort their options, best regards to all.

I still haven't replaced my 2010 PN58C8000 Samsung plasma that Samsung bought back because of heat issues.
I stopped by my local TV and Appliance store on Wednesday to take a look at the new Panasonic GT55 plasma--the 60 inch that I want is not out until middle to late May. While there I took a look at the 60 inch Sharp 835; they also had the 70 inch Sharp on display--------now that's one large TV. Sports center was on and they had basketball, hockey and baseball highlights on. I watched both sets for about 20 min's and saw nothing but a great picture; no motion lag (trail behind the hockey puck) or artifacts---nothing. They have Direct TV and considering how many times the signal is split the picture on both sets was very good. The 60 was set to 240 dynamic (I think) and the 70 was on 120 high (don't remember any other settings). I can get the 835 for $2,100. They will transfer the 5 year extended warranty I purchased with the Samsung to whatever I buy. If I decide not to get (or wait on) the 60 inch panasonic I will pull the trigger on the 835. I can get the 70 for $2,500 but it just to big for my TV room.
