Hey, which area do you live? Ive been waiting for my 55 inch since last week Monday and still haven't received it yet. I've been calling my Sony style store everyday. Im in Massachusetts.

Hi all. Long island sonystyle store had one hx929 55" left. Saw the display in the store with 3d and 2d hd. Picture was fantastic in both. Ordered the last one and it is supposed to be delivered within 3 days. Will let you guys know when it arrives. Thanks for all the videos Nick, helped me decide on the Sony.

How does this TV handle motion on BD and other HD content without MF on? I currently have the 909 which I am very happy with, except it's native motion resolution. I do not like to use MF on any level because of the unnatural movement and panning it causes. Since the 929 panel is truly 240 Hz without software enhancement I would believe that it should be significantly better. In contrast, I read that the 909 panel is actually 60 Hz with the software enhancement simulating 240 Hz.

Wrong, HX909 is also natively a 240hz panel. The UV2A panels are supposed to be very good with handling motion. Im not sure why yours is having issues.
Try using motionflow on clear1, the motion remains very natural on this mode and it handles it well.

liguy,

I'm assuming you are talking about the roosevelt field sony store. Are you sure you were looking at the hx929, I was there about 3 weeks ago and I called them on Saturday to find out if they had one to view or if they knew when they were going to receive one so people can see it. I was told that they dont have one yet and they dont know when they are getting it. perhaps the person that answered the phone was misinformed. I guess ill call again today to confirm.

They just got the 929 on Saturday. One is up on display. Went there last night and paid for one which will be delivered this week, they said it was their last one available.

I'm in Ohio. The tv was shipped on the 28th out of Chicago. The free starter kit arrives today via FedEx (are you tracking your set? FedEx is really good at updating the status). Hope you get yours soon! I'll be taking mine out of the box and setting it up this afternoon

I can attest to that. I went to the Roosevelt Field mall on Sat. myself to see the TV. Overall PQ seemed to be noticeably better than the HX909 on display.

I have one on order through PC Richard & Son. They are getting a delivery of 10 of them (tentatively) on May 8th. At least half of these are already spoken for. (BTW , we settled on $3297 for the TV which includes free in-home delivery)

Hey guys glad to see that the 929 is hitting the shops in a greater quantity now!

As I've said before I live in the UK so look forward to getting as much user feedback as I can before this beast hits end of may! But I was wondering if anyone has heard when sites will be reviewing this TV! I've had no luck myself!

Just got home from work. I have two buddies coming over in a few minutes and we're gonna start getting the 55" HX92 up and running. I wanted to quickly chime in as I ordered from SonyStyle where they gave me a free starter kit. It arrived a few minutes ago and contained the "Alice In Wonderland" 3DBD from Disney, a 2 meter high speed HDMI cable, a 3D emitter, and two TDG-BR 100 3D glasses for those who are curious. Now on to the task at hand....

doesn't the 929 series have 3D built-in? why do yo need an emitter?
i believe the starter kits that sony is giving out are the ones from last year. Most of all sony 3D tvs last year had to have the external emitter because they were not bulit in.

I just came back from the roosevelt field store and all I can say is i'm very impressed, now I have to choose between this set or one of two plasmas Pan gt30 or lg pz950. Regardless this set from what I saw has a beautiful picture 2d and 3d.

For those of you that have already received this set, does it come with 3d glasses in the box? if it does are they last years model TDG-BR100 or the new rechargeable model TDG-BR200?

Well looks like you guys are getting the raw end of the deal! I just checked the Sony UK site and it states that the TV comes with rechargeable 3D glasses, doesn't confirm the number or model! It is odd that they would not extend this to the larger US Market!?

Not trying to rub salt in wounds just thought you guys might want to know!

Agreed. I admit I'm about to blow a fuse in anticipation of a proper, thorough review of the 929.
My local Fry's (Texas) has had the D8000 on the floor for two months now -- still no HX929.
Shouldn't be too far off now.

Anybody in this thread from Michigan?

I finally got the 55" HX92 set up at home but then I had to help a buddy who bought my tv install it....THEN take them out to dinner...THEN talk to my g/f for an hour to make her feel as wanted as the HX :-) Well, I finally got home took some photos and watched some tv (no manipulation of settings except turning off the sound it makes when being turned on and setting up my wifi connection). It's a killer set, plain and simple. It does need some visual tweaking as it was pretty bright out of the box. When turned off the set is black as night. Looks great on the wall!

I don't have anywhere near the skill that Nick does (awesome job, by the way, Nick!) but as soon as I can figure out how to post pics/videos on here I will do so. I'm out of town for work until late Thursday night but when I get back I'll be messing with it.

Awesome! Did you pay straight sonystyle website price or were you able to get a discount on your deal?

Soon will be the proud new owner of the XBR55HX929. Had the OB issues as everyone else on my KDF60WF655.

Posted on the Facebook page "I Have a Defective Sony TV" and after 3 different calls to negotiate a new TV was offered their flagship TV, the XBR55HX929. Granted it was $1,562 but the TV retails for $3,800. Feel like I got a pretty good deal, over 50% off retail.

I decided if I was going to get something new I definitely wanted 240Hz and was surprised when I was offered the best TV they make.

Will definitely be subscribing to this thread and looking forward to getting input on the optimal settings.

So you got a discount because your 5+ year old projection tv was broken?

Sign me up. I'm gonna go post a complaint about my xbr4's buzzing issue.
does anyone know if the bracket for sony ct-350 is compatible with 46hx929? im really tempted to sell my 40hx800 and get the 46hx929.
