I don't see any picture quality reduction when i zoom a 1080 HD video

similar to way people don't find difference between a 720P and 1080P video's

Also depends on viewing distance, if you are very close to TV, you might find the difference.

Hi,

I have a problem. I don't get any signal from my HDMI main out anymore. Last saturday I was testing my HDMI connection with my Denon 4311 running it through the receiver and running strait to my tv. At some point i could not get any signal from the HDMI main out.

I have tried everything including going to the servicemenu and restoring factory defaults, hooking up to another tvetc but no signal. The HDMI sub out works fine.

The only thing i can think of is a HDCP issue (besides that there is a mechanical problem off course) on the HDMI main out.

I have gone throught this complete thread and there was someone else with the same problem however there was never a solution posted here.

I don't like it either. But the $15 RCA RCRP05B will control absolutely every function of the 110/210/310 and do learning, macros (activities), volume punch thru, and control 4 other devices. Just use the codes I posted earlier in the thread. You can even program it from your computer with an optional interface cable. So it's way better than the stock panny remote and way cheaper than a "good" universal remote.

Even though I am vierra linked up on tv and 210 apparently my receiver isn't exactly complient or the 210 don't send proper signal to switch receiver audio back to cable input....maybe this remote is best option... Is there buttons on it that mimick the panny layout? Am mainly used to where the home, return, and arrow buttons are. Would be nice to have a mute button and be able to change channels again all with one remote..

So no answers to some my dumber questions on last page?
How about a simpler one...
Does anybody see a quality loss using mkv over usb on the 210?
I have done supposed perfect 100% containering from dvd iso's using dvdFab's mkv.remux profile and but there is still some loss or artifacting going on. I can see it in the opening or ending credit text or in actors eyes. Instead of crisp and reflective pinpoints they get all glossy diseased looking.

update: http://forum.dvdfab.com/showpost.php...44&postcount=4 Apparently not everyone believes it can be perfect due to mkv container..Never even considered there would be some loss. This sucks as I wanted to move away from disks. Wondering if 210 will stream a vob now..

So I just bought a VT30 and realized that I won't be able to watch any 3D content as my Onkyo 707 is HDMI 1.3a. Since this player has two HDMI outs, if I plug one into the receiver and one to the TV (with a 1.4 cable) will I be OK? Has anyone tried this? Any issues, be it with Onkyo, audio syncing, etc.?

Thanks!

Well my wife is on me about her wanting to switch to blockbuster. She does the math/accounting around here so there must be something currently up with that as if they about to take back the market with a new cheaper plan than netflix..

Yep that will work. Have a similar set up with my Onkyo 876 and Samsung 64d7000. Just make sure you set it up correctly in the setup menus.

On my Oppo 93 I can "FF" ahead or back in 10 sec increments. Can't find anything similar on the Panny GUI.

(On the other hand, YouTube on the Oppo doesn't let me disble autoplay! )

Yes, this is annoying, the "TV" section on the remote apparently now is only for Panasonic TVs. They seem to want us to keep a boxful of remotes or buy a pricy universal remote. The remote for the old DMP-BD35 easily controlled my Samung T260HD in my bedroom which does double-duty as an external monitor for my MacBook Pro.

Emailing Panasonic customer service got a reply to call in to them, they could not answer my question on programming the remote in an email. That was abysmal. It is very easy to prepare "canned" email responses to Frequently Asked Questions, or to put it into the online FAQ.

At least this is training me to be consistent in where I keep the remotes :-)

Panasonic's product managers did make some odd compromises with the 2011 players.

Even though the "multi-brand" capabilities for narrowly focused remotes like these are often only rudimentary, I would have traded the Touch Free sensor for a better (full-size) remote, Divx compatibility, or a wider set of outputs, features common on other competitors.

But, even as CE devices have largely eliminated on-device front panel controls and shifted almost all control functions to the remotes, the savings from the former hasn't been reallocated toward any improvement in the latter.

On the whole, they're often barely functional afterthoughts. From that standpoint, there are some truly atrocious factory remotes out there, especially paired with receivers, compounded by how complex modern receivers have become.

There is a cost to cheap electronics, I suppose.

It has enough buttons although some names are not intuitive, but you can put any function on any button. You can leave out things you don't use like Skype. You can even put 2 functions per button (or 5 per button with a programming cable). I spoke too soon about every function. Without a programming cable, you'll have to learn some functions unless you have a European remote (URC-7940, 7950 or 8350), in which case DVD setup code 1579/21579 will cover them all. But you can add functions that aren't on the original remote like discrete on and off (very useful for macros). In any case, it's a good cheap substitute for the original.

Here's my button layout and codes for the RCA using DVD setup code 0490. Use the Manual programming instructions in my Wiki link for assigning Advanced codes.

I have both and can tell you BB streaming pales in comparison to NF. I found maybe a dozen titles of interest out of the 6,000 or so available. Besides, I thought only Dish network subs could get it at the moment. Although the disc part of the service is slower than NF, BB has the added benefit of blu-ray for no extra charge, game rentals and in-store exchanges.

This happens to be one of them. Not only did they eliminate the volume control for a receiver from last year's generation, the placement of the Home, VieraCast and the Top Menu just outside of the navigation arrow keys is ridiculous. I can't count the number of times I've hit the outer key and lost my place in a movie.
I was suprised to see that I no longer had the receiver controls on the remote for the 210. I was considering getting a new universal, my old harmony is a bit long in the tooth and my BD85 was going to a good home so I couldn't keep it. However, I started playing with Viera Link and got it working. Now if I am using the 210, I control it with my TV's remote (Panny GT30), or my receivers remote (pio 1021). It works great, no need for the receiver controls on the 210's remote.

I'd say that the Panny engineers saw Viera Link as a replacement for the receiver control buttons and in the Panny tradition, expect everyone to get new receivers, TV 's , etc. like I did.

Does anyone else think the player is a little noisy? I have the DMP-BDT110 in my bedroom, and the disc drive noise is quite annoying during quiet scenes.

I won't assume that your definition of "noisy" matches mine, but I can say that my 110 is as quiet on nearly all discs as my 2002-vintage Sony DVD player. Not too shabby, since the Sony was a true tank. It was better able to contain and reduce operating noise compared to the lightweight, low-profile designs of today. The 110 also compares well to the newer, low-profile Sony progressive scan DVD players in two of our bedrooms.

However, a handful of my older DVDs do produce a noticeably higher level of noise when spinning. My guess is that it has something to do with the balance of the disc, where better-balanced discs will cause less noise. Since the 110 is in my family room, we don't really notice it (well, my wife and daughter don't, and it isn't enough to distract me).

When playing a BD opera, only the subtitles, sound and BD menus are shown, no movie?!?! Do I have the wrong settings on my 110? The same BD works fine on my BD player in my PC.
THanks for any help

Has the flashing problem been fixed on the 110? I've been delaying buying it because of this.

How are the subtitles on the 110 accessed with Netflix streaming? Does each movie show if subtitles are available?

Thanks.
Well I've moved on over in seriously considering some custom Handbrake presets to do my whole collection from dvd-to-mkv for this players usb connection. Just couldn't get any the other converters to do quality and properly smooth frame rates at same time. My specific issues are listed on Prosperos guide thread for his presets post #87 and mentioning it here as such for my own future reference as well as others that may need a leg up:
http://forums.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=22632
Handbrake on a high quality setting spit out Bridesmaids at 1.6gig with no apparent degradation from disk.
Next best thing in quality seems to be vob streaming but at the expense of all the functions a mkv can offer in a single small file package...not to mention the unpredictable nature of loosing your share/streaming connection with your router or having your media pc on all the time. ..This going to rock in doing it all off a big hardwired usb drive!!

If you have fast Internet downloads then you won't have much problems. I hardly see that happen.
Each movie you have to go manually and chose the subtitle and 5.1, sometimes have 2 choices of subtitle. For example on the psych if one doesn't works the other one does. Something I really like about this player is the PQ, amy friend brought the xmen in DVD after I watched I notice that it wasn't a bluray, the whole time I thought it was bluray.

Don't know for sure but in reading much of this thread it seems many think it might not be possable to fix due to panny having broken it at a hardware level. Regardless, if you haven't seen the actual blink (not a flash really) I would not advise placing too much into the issue.. it's but a blink is all and was every so often upon transitions to lower or higher quality stream resolution or whatever. If your connection is suitably fast and stable you won't really be effected. And that said I would question why anyone would want to be paying for the service if they don't have suitable speeds in first place. To justify expendature on these streaming services it makes sense frankly to accomodate them and kill two birds with one stone of having good isp connection/speeds. I suspect those complaining about a little blink once in awhile or overlook the great value these panny's offer? Just get a 210, you'll love it..

I think there is something more than "fast and stable" involved. I HAVE a fast connection that appears to be stable for everything EXCEPT Netflix on my BDT-110. For me, the flashing seems to occur only during evening hours. Sometimes it's just a bit, sometimes quite a lot. However, I have no problem with Netflix from my Panny ST30 TV, which uses exactly the same wired connection as the BD player. The other streaming services on the BD player work perfectly, including HDX from Vudu, no matter what time of day/evening I use them.

Mmmmm...I don't know about that. If 1.5 Mbps service is good enough for everything else you do, does it make sense to pay another $24/month for 12 Mbps service just to accomodate an $8/month streaming service?

Higher speed Internet service tiers are still not exactly cheap. My system, Cox San Diego, wants $25/month for 1.5 Mbps, $35/month for 3 Mbps, $49/month for 12 Mbps, $62/month for 25 Mbps and $100/month for 50 Mbps service. We get that 25 Mbps service, but I'm online all day long and do a lot of large file downloading, which is worth it for me
post #4378 of 8311
All depends on how much PQ you want, you can go in the netflix account and lower the quality of the downloads and you wont have any trouble with the lower speeds.

Okay, finally...got the Panasonic 310, Mitsu 82740 and my non-3D compliant receiver working in harmony. 310 is set to bitstream, secondary audio off, sub video off...after tinkering I eventually got the DTS-HD Master setting that I wanted.

Hi,

I was hoping that someone could end this frustration for me. Has anyone been able to pass a 3D signal with lossless audio (DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD) from a Panasonic DMP-BDT210 through a Harman Kardon AVR 2600 or 3600? The AVR is set to HDMI bypass and is 1.4a compliant.

I know I can pass a 3D signal through the AVR, as my PS3 works just fine (1080p 3D and lossless audio). I can also play a 2D blu-ray with lossless audio in the 210 Panasonic.

What I have tried with two 3D Blu-Rays (Avatar 3D and newest Pirates of the Caribbean 3D movie)

1) 3 different sets of HDMI cables (TV to AVR and AVR to 210)
2) Re-flashed the HK 2600 1.4a firmware
3) Tried different power on sequences
4) Tested using Deep color on or off (210 setting)
5) Tested having “HDMI audio” on or off (AVR 2600 Setting)
6) Tried resetting the 210 to factory defaults several times (as described in the 210 manual)
7) Tried resetting the HDMI settings on the 210 (as described in the 210 manual)
8) Tried a different HDMI port on both the TV and AVR
9) HDMI bypass is set to on (AVR 2600)
10) Tried different color modes on 210

When the 210 boots to the home screen, I have seen it detect that a 3D compatible screen is detected. When I start the 3D movie, I get the 3D precaution screen but the screen always go blank and then the TV can not detect a signal. The odd time a the 3D movie will play in 2D.

Any thoughts…? please help. I am going mad over the amount of time I am spending troubleshooting this issue… I am very close to getting rid of this 210 unit and never looking back!

Setup is below

TV - GT30 series Panasonic
AVR – HK 2600 with 1.4a firmware
Player – Panasonic DMP-BDT210 with latest FW (1.70)

Thank you
