Maybe you have not calibrated it correctly. Calibrating it correctly makes all the difference. Or maybe you just have a bad set. Play around with the backlight settings and local dimming. If you can freeze on a total black picture when calibrated the backlighting it can be easy to see where you need to set it.

1) if I set it to intelligent sensor, then basically no clouding at all;
2) if I set it to what I have calibrated to, then there is a very small amount of clouding on the edge.
However, I found the intelligent senor produces a picture that is way too dark for me. So I am sticking with the calibration I have.
