No problem here. Have the 6500. I did reinitialize the premium after the update, but did not see any difference before or after.

Guys,

Has there been any successful methods to make the LG LW6500 TV play nVidia 3D Vision games?

I am unable to get the nVidia Stereoscopic test to detect my display as capable of 120Hz

I have it connected DVI to HDMI...

Your support is highly appreciated...

My set never stays on HT speaker... Before or after the last update. Sure wish there was a way to make HT the default.

As soon as I enabled HDMI Control, I hit the Simplink button on my LG remote and I had access to the controls there. I set the speaker value to 'HT speaker' and success!

I can now watch Smart TV content, as well as media files (DLNA and USB), and the sound comes through my home theatre and Denon via ARC and sounds fantastic! There is no delay/lip sync either.

So what this really means is that Top Gear now sounds like it should. You just can't appreciate the sound a Lamborghini Aventador makes through the TV's tiny speakers.

Just thought I would share in case there are other Denon owners out there. It's a setting that took me a while to find out about.

Thanks to all who helped here as well.

OMG! I've been wanting the audio return channel to work with my Onkyo a/v receiver ever since I received my 55LW5600. I did turn HDMI control to "on" in my a/v receiver AND I did turn on ARC in the LG menu - but nobody ever mentioned I needed to run the SIMPLINK option and select a/v receiver for the speakers. I even made several posts early on in this forum and opened a ticket with LG - nobody ever mentioned needing to use the SIMPLINK menus. I'm going to try this right away tonight. I assumed SIMPLINK was for SIMPLINK devices only - my receiver does not have a SIMPLINK logo on it so I never tried. I bet this is the trick - it totally makes sense now and looking back at my LG manual it even mentions SIMPLINK but doesn't specifically say you need to set it up. DAMMIT (in a good way of course - lol).

Maybe it's an option in the service menu. Does anyone know? The last thing I want to do is go messing around in there

I've discovered some more details and patterns to the issue with the new software (4.03.01) causing severe lagging with button response on the home screen. I'm curious if others see the same patterns that I am.

As others reported, after updating to 4.03.01 I started having the LONG lags when trying to do anything on the home screen. I did the "reinitialize premiums" thing, which did fix the issue, but I noticed that I was no longer "signed in" to my LG account. I then discovered that the issue came back a little while after I signed in to the LG account WITH the "Auto Sign In" box checked.

In other words, if I don't sign in, everything remains normal. Likewise, if I sign in without checking "Auto Sign In," I don't get any problems either. Note, however, that when I turn the set off and back on, I am no longer signed in. If I sign in with the "Auto Sign In" box checked, however, I remain signed in, but after some period of time, the severe menu lagging returns. The period of time it takes for the problem to return seems to vary quite a bit. In my tests, it has take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. The problem, however, DOES always come back as long as I continue to use the TV with it "Auto Signing In" to my account.

One other thing I've noticed is that when the lagging returns, two of the items on the main menu lower bar show up as little "circles of dots" rather than as their normal icons. These are the "Agent Sudoku" and the "SocialCenter" apps (neither of which I use.) As soon as I reinitialize premiums, the lagging stops, AND the icons for these two apps once again show up normally. As long as I don't sign in to my LG account, the lagging never starts up again.

To all the people that solved the menu lag issues by reinitializing premiums, are you also NOT signed in to an LG account? Is there anybody that IS signed into their LG account WITH the "Auto Sign In" option (i.e. so that it always says "Sign Out" at the top right corner of the home screen) that does NOT get the lag issue?

I can't help wondering if the reason more people aren't reporting this is simply because they aren't signed into an LG account.

Thanks for any feedback on this,

Larry

I was having some lag issues but have been "signed in " since late yesterday and so far it's been OK. When I hit the "home " button I get a message that a new software version has been detected and installed. I select the close button on the dialogue box and then everything's OK no lag. I'll keep checking and report back.

I have the 5600 and I ran into the Hulu black screen issue after the latest firmware update. I tried reverting to the previous firmware version without success. I was able to get it working again by downloading the latest firmware (Version 4.02.62) on LG's site here:

http://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-47LW5600

and updating via USB. Hope this helps anyone else having issues with Hulu.

Just to confirm, the upper right corner of the home screen always says "Sign Out" and NOT "Sign In" for you, even after restarting the TV, correct? I just want to confirm that you did indeed sign in with the "Auto Sign In" option checked.

Are you saying that every time you start the TV, it tells you that the software was updated?

Thanks,

Larry

Mine says "sign out" so I'm always signed in. The message came up when I hit the home button on the remote and just one time after the update. So far everything is working and all apps show up. I'm wondering if you possibly had a bad or incomplete flash? Ill keep checking it during the day and post back.

Interesting ill check on this when i get home. I have found a temporary solution for the time being. I let it go to black screen then select home and go back into the app, it seems to work everytime.

After a couple of days, I still run into the black screen issue on occasion. Before I did the USB firmware update, it wouldn't ever load, even selecting home then going back to Hulu. If it works for you by going home then back, the method I described might not help.

How is the lag on this TV? i understand that this is last years model but has the lag issue been addressed by LG via firmware updates? i am not a hardcore gamer but i do play COD MW quite a bit..The main reason why i am interested in this is TV was because it has a "matte" finish as oppose to glossy finish. My living room gets plenty of sun light and i don't want to pay close to 2k for Samsung tv that i can see my reflection in..i was also considering the un55d7000 but glossy screen is the killer for me.

I'm not a gamer myself but if you look through this thread you'll find the lag issue has been discussed quite a bit. Some have it and some don't . There are many suggestions about how to set up the 5600. I also have a very bright room and the matte screen works good for me. There's a lot of brightness in the TV almost blinding brightness and you can crank it up if need be for a really bright room.

My TV won't find or download 4.03.01. Says no update available. I'm still at 4.02.62 that I loaded manually from USB months ago.
I'm in Canada if that matters.

Where are you getting the new firmware 04.03.01?? My 55LW5600 will not get it from update software on TV setup, and it is not on the LG site. Thanks
post #7698 of 8097
04.03.01 was pulled due to problems.

Hi, I have an lw5600. It seems to have an auto dimming feature.

I tried searching but I'm not sure what I'm looking for. I only notice it when watching a show the switches from a light scene to a dark scene frequently. I especially notice this when watching Game of Thrones.

The screen will auto dim and return to full brightness depending on the scene. How do I turn this off? As far as I can tell, there isn't a definite option in the menu.

I apologize if this was asked but I can't seem to find it.

Hi, on the LG remote, on the top left, there is a green button.

It says "Energy Saving" press this, scroll down and turn it to "Off".

This should do it.

OK, so now what ? How is the up-date removed or reversed ?

Is this the cure for it or is there something else which needs to be done ?

Seems to be a cure for sluggishness, if that's what you mean.

Hit Home, then select Setup, scroll down to Option (but don't select it), hit the 9 button on the remote 7 times. You will have your previous firmware back.

Thank's, back to 4.02.62 in a flash !

Now I guess just put on hold for up-dated; up-date.

any way to change the ratio when viewing 3d pictures using the smartshare?

if i us my lg thrill 3d smart phone and share an image to the tv its stretched..
There seem to be no options on the tv or phone when using smartshare to correct this.

since they are both lg products you think they would work perfect with each other.

Thanks I rolled back too. Even though my 5600 seemed to settle in with the new firmware after a couple days. I figured if LG pulled it I wasn't going to take a chance.

Hey I'm posting from my phone so this is hard to search for, but how do I set up my ps3 so that each player only sees his screen using the 3D glasses as filters?

I know I need to modify the glasses to have 2 left lenses (and the other pair 2 right lenses), but what settings do I have to change on the ps3 and TV?

I just bought the LW5700 and from my understanding you just go into any game with split screen game and enable Top/Bottom or SBS and wear the R/R, L/L glasses.

With my research it seems it causes some ghosting and to fix it EDID need to be spoofed to the Playstation 3D TV EDID using a HDMI programmer, when this is done the PS3 will let you enable SimulView and remove ghosting. Other have said its not noticeable during game play and should be alright without spoofing EDID.

I have not tried this I need to buy extra glasses but should be alright and ghosting should not be bad at all. I assuming EDID is spoofed on the newer LG TV's and that's why it has a different option called Dual Play.

This is my 1st post. I wish I found this forum 2 weeks ago when the 4.03.01 update came out. I to had the same problem when I clicked on home. I called LG and they put a service call into the local tv repair service. They ordered a new main board and came out and installed it this week.
My question is, now when I go to Home, Setup, Support, Product/Service info it says Global-Plat3 for Model/Type can anyone tell me what that means?

I have it working without spoofing the EDID and the only time I notice any ghosting is when the screen is paused. I have never noticed it during game play.
