Hey guys,
Bought my 55LW5600 in December after purchasing the Toshiba model and not being happy with it. Several people here answered questions for me and helped make my decision to switch, I haven't regretted it a bit. While some things were comparable or even a little better on the Toshiba, overall the LG wins hands down for me, so glad I switched. I plugged in some settings initially, been happy with the TV, but lately I had the urge to play more, probably because I just redid my setup at home and finally mounted the TV etc. Caught up on 100+ pages of conversation that I missed too!
So I'm up to speed now on latest firmware, service menu, etc. and ready to tweak my settings. I actually saved all of the posts I saw and printed them out, I saw a lot of similarities but also some weird differences, so decided to plug them into a spreadsheet to see what looked like a good starting place as well as if there was a way to merge or tighten up on some of the agreed upon ranges. I haven't tried any of these yet, but I thought I would share my spreadsheet in the event anyone else would like to try different settings and doesn't want to search through 8000 posts to find them.
I'll report back once I have time to try some of these for a day or two each and let you know what I like the best.
If anyone has any information on some of the notes I have in the "Merged" column at the end I would appreciate it. I have no idea what some of these settings do or why one should be better than the other. Hopefully the manual will help with that, but if the info is not there feel free to elaborate.
Thanks to everyone for all of the posts in this thread, even if some of the questions are asked over, and over, and over... There is a TON of information in here, I remember when I was deciding between Toshiba and LG the Toshiba forum had 4 pages of posts, this one was already on 50+ and steadily growing. That alone helped make my decision easy.
