Deciding between B&W, ML, and Def. Tech. HELP...please :)

Hello, new member here. I have really learned a lot from reading the many posts on these forums, so I thought I would bring my question here. I am currently looking to get a two channel setup for my home. The room I am putting the setup in is fairly large with high ceilings (12ft.) I have narrowed my tower choices down to the three following speakers with prices I would be able to purchase these speakers at next to them:

B&W CM9: ($1650/pair)
ML Source ($650/pair)
Def. Tech. STS Supertowers ($1450/pair)

I know speakers are a personal preference, and I have listened to all three. In all honesty, the ML's were hands down my favorite, however, their notorious small sweet spot might be too much for me to overcome, considering this setup will be used for entertaining purposes as well and my own enjoyment. I am leaning toward the CM9's, but I am starting to wonder if just the sheer beauty of the glossy black with the kevlar is what is gravitating me to them more than the actual sound.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

If you like the ML Source the best then buy those. Where are you seeing them for $650/pair? The cheapest I found was like $673 each. As far as entertaining guests, screw them you paid for it so you should get the sweet spot.

I was going to say. Those prices are for EACH! I would say the CM9s would be your best bet. If you were shooting for a total of $1,500, get the B&W 683s. Close sounding to the CM9s for half the price.

I can actually get an ML accomodation that wold allow me to get them for that price for the pair, not per speaker. All of those prices are for the pair. However, I would have to add $70 for freight shipping. Also, I agree about the guests, haha. I'm just not sure the ML's will pass the wife test, they are beautiful to be sure, just don't know if she would see it that way.

Damn! I just paid $673 each + tax on a pair. The other speakers maybe "better" but at $650/pair + freight that's one hell of a bang for your buck deal going on. So jealous! hah

Hey,

I just auditioned ML Source and CM9 over at Best Buy, I like the CM9 better. ML really suffers from off axis sound stage.. They say there will be new speakers coming out from ML.

Can you PM me where you can get CM9 for $1650/pair... I wouldn't mind paying the shipping...
