I just finished running slides and applied dnice settings. The settings say to put 3.2 mode in auto but this setting is greyed out ann it won't allow me to change it. Is this normal or is there a way to change it.

It's grayed out because it's not available for the source that you're using, but it's fine like that and won't affect anything.

Ok thanks.

Anyone know if you have to adjust your router to get the NETFLIX APP to run better on this TV? The movies start alot faster then on the 360 but the audio stutters and sometime its skips a frame or 2 in video....its like their no buffer.

Plug the TV directly into your modem and see if the problem persists. Then you'll know if it's a router issue.
That makes no sense at all. How would you adjust the router? Either you have a sketchy wireless connection, slow Internet connection in general, or the app just doesn't work that well in general. I haven't tried the Netflix app since I have a pc connected directly to my tv.

Do you know how routers work? I have a LinkSys router and by default you do not have an OPEN NAT connection with the 360 I had to adjust settings to get it that way. Also not wireless.

You didn't know you can log into your router through a web browser and adjust things?
I wouldn't think you'd have to do anything to the router for it to work. Open nat looks like a xbox thing. I've never logged into my router though. Hows Netflix work on your xbox?

Does anyone have info on when Panasonic is going to do the 3d bundle again? Seems like with Samsung's bundling and pricing of their 3d accessories Panasonic needs to jump in the game soon?

It's an issue with the television. Some shows/movies that Netflix streams were not converted very well, and the television has trouble handling them.

The GT25 would create a very shaky/judder-like image and the ST30 seems to play the image smoothly, but cannot handle the sound.

However, and I don't understand why, my ST30's Netflix performance has improved tremendously. It is certainly a processing issue, and I've noticed the problem to be more sever when I am in the menu playing around with settings, while also watching Netflix at the same time.

Fwiw, my blu-ray player can process Netflix much better than my television (also a Panasonic)

Check out the Netflix Steaming Quality thread, and related threads in that forum.

It's a bit of a haze in my head, but I believe it's been observed that the Xbox 360 Netflix app downloads an initial block of data in a burst, then stops, and downloads more smoothly if you turn out to actually watch the show -- whereas other Netflix apps seem to be written to download more smoothly and evenly.

One thing to point out is that the PS3 Netflix app is able to download certain higher quality encodes (including some 1080p w/ 5.1 audio streams, reportedly) which other Netflix apps can't. So if you have a PS3 and you care, you should prefer to use that.

My 42ST30 arrived today, and my 100 hours should be up Tuesday morning. No buzzing to report yet, and no pixels misbehaving (although I wouldn't really be all that upset if there were a few). It won't be scientific, but I should be able to compare it to my 46G20 and Kuro 6020FD soon.

Will be interested to see this comparison! A user explaining his experience with a tv is nice and all but without a point of reference (something to compare it to) it all is pretty subjective.

Keep us posted! Still waiting for my st30 to ship "item is backordered" from panasonic.com. 14 days and counting :/

I posted earlier that I'd been having the same problem with corrupt Netflix sound on my st30. I find it's only present in HD material, and not in SD material. I reported it to Panasonic Customer Support and supposedly they're researching the issue. I urge anyone else with the issue to also report it to Panasonic Customer Support.

As a G15 owner (with an elevated black level at .020 ftL), I am curious to hear any further thoughts that you (Randy) or anyone else might have comparing the 2009 G series to the ST series.

If the black levels are proven to remain stable on the ST30, and the "floating whites" issue can be effectively eliminated, will the ST30 essentially be what my G15 was during its first 100 hours of use (before the black level rise)? Or does the ST30 offer a better picture than the G10/15 did even when new? Randy describes it as "much better." In what ways, exactly?

I have a feeling I am not the only one with a cursed 2009 set that is cautiously optimistic about the ST30 and/or GT30.

Very minor issue I noticed. In the credits to THE HANGOVER were the credits scroll on the right and they show pictures on the left some of the scrolling lines of text will cause a mirrored scroll over the image on the left that slightly darkens the image almost like the text is being mirrored horizontally very very very faintly.

55" ST30 ordered.

This question is for D-Nice or anyone else that may have the answer. He lists calibration settings for the G20/25 and VT20/25 but not for the GT25.

Which settings should be used on a GT25, GT30 and the ST30?

Thanks!

Just picked mine up tonight. I was very close to purchasing the Samsung UN55D7000. I don't know why, but I kept admiring the picture on the display. The savings allowed me to get some 3D movies and a PS3. Now I just need to figure out how to set everything up including the new cable box the cable company dropped off.

Ive got an 55 st30 arriving on Tuesday courtesy of Amazon prime free shipping. Hopefully the experience isnt as bas as some others have experienced from their shipper of choice as the price was hard to beat. Ive been running a 720P panasonic plasma circa 2006 that's still going gangbusters and which will assume bedroom duties...long live panasonic!

Nice! Enjoy your new set, tell us how you like it once you've fired it up.

I had another question about line bleed. Does it get worse overtime or does it stay about the same? Its not noticeable in actual content but if it gets worse overtime I guess that would be something to worry about? Good thing I got the 2 year BB warranty.

Following up my own post, for completeness, here's the post by michaeltscott I was thinking of. Check out the charts and graphs!

BTW, it appears that the latest update is that the PS3 still is the only device to pull the highest Netflix bitrate encodes. The 2011 Panasonic BD players seem to be running the same HTML5 app that the PS3 has, and is pulling 5.1 audio when available -- but only 720p encodes.

michaeltscott's list of 1080p w/5.1 encodes is here, as well.

Looks like I need to pick up a PS3. Will have to wait till this summer b/c I'll have extra money then. Would streaming Netflix through my laptop hooked up to my TV be the best solution if you don't have a PS3? Only problem with that is you can't pick 16-235 color with the PC Netflix.....so I would probly get a loss of shadow detail.

I'd use the Netflix app on a device normally plugged into a TV, or on the TV itself, before I messed around with laptop stuff.

Hey, do the ST30's have picture in picture. I couldn't find the info on Panasonics website. Also, do they let you use all of the inputs? on pip? My pioneer elite pro 950 only allows picture in picture where one of the sources must be antenna a or b. I can't do playstation on 1 and cable box (hdmi or component) on the other which is annoying.
