Is it really noticeable in actual viewing, or do their tests just exaggerate it too much?

It's probably a little better than my G10, which is very good, when watching cable. I haven't hooked up the xbox yet but don't suspect an issue.

Does anybody else have any settings to get the picture brighter while still maintaing accuracy without using photo mode. Also why does photo make colors look different? In Madden when on a still image of a jersey of the Detroit Lions, when I engage photo the blue changes. Its a weird effect. Im just looking for the best picture quality besides D Nices and a brighter picture. Any help is appreciated, thanks kindly

Start with D-Nice's settings then update these three settings...
- Color Temp.......... From [Warm2] to [Normal]
- Panel Brightness.... From [Low] to [Mid]
- HDMI.................. From [Off] to [Photos]

So I guess it does exist, although I couldn't find which countries are affected. Don't really care though as long as US sets are fine :P

FWIW, placed an order with Amazon on Sunday 11/13, 55ST30 delivered today. Box had some damage, but there was no cosmetic damage to the TV. Running the d-nice break in now. October build

I just got my 50ST30 from Amazon. How do I tell what month it was built? The serial number is XX1108XXXX.

Since it is way lower than 1215 I guess I got an old one? Should I even bother running slides, or just try and get the fix for the fbr and then do it?

I found the build date, April 2011. Oh well. I guess I will just hook her up and hope for the best.

Got mine today too. April build as well. Said it came from Indiana on shipping info. Running slides now. Not sure if it has the flickering issue.

Just to ask everyone on here. I'm a noob at this. Is replacing the A-board a big deal? Would you just return the TV? I don't want to pay over $800 for a POS. I love my G25. I hope for the best.

Just to be clear, the manufacturer date can be found on the box?

No, it's on a sticker on the back of the tv. The august builds have a serial of xx1215xxxxxx or higher, that's the only thing on the box.

Not to my knowledge. The date is on the back of the TV. What you can find is the serial number on the box. The first 6 in the serial should look like this, the xx represents anything as it doesnt matter. XX1215 This ensures that the build date was August or later and was confirmed by a Panasonic Rep.

Please help

Issue with break-in images. Every time I try and run the images, downloaded from the site, they have an image, then the next slide is a blank screen with an exclamation point. I cant run the slides because every other slide is blank with a static image. This is just using a drag and drop on a Mac to an SD card. The SD card has only the images on the card. Thats it. Anyone else have this or a fix?? Why is it creating these extra images??

Try importing it into a paint type program and then exporting it to the card, that should eliminate the extra files that the mac is inserting.

Ah ok. Looks like it depends on where they ship it from. Carlisle PA is shipping recent builds.

Just got my 60" ST30 today. Its a July Build. Not sure if it has the FBr or not, but I will report back. Still in the process of hooking up the whole HT. It was bought Amazon direct. A huge thumbs up to Amazon prime, but not for the TV. Make sure you get faster shipping. If they offer "free" shipping, it took almost 2 weeks for them to get it here. The delivery company was great though. They opened the box, put it on the stand and plugged it in and verified that it worked correctly. Much better than "Brown" who left my last set on the doorstep in the middle of the day haha.

Just got my 42ST30 today and unfortunately has the xx1124 build and not the 1215 I was hoping for, got it from Best Buy's "ship to store" option in the Los Angeles area

For those of you who just received yours and are planning to wall mount it, did you test it before you put it up on the wall to see if it had FBR issues? As in did you put the TV on the stand that it comes with first to test it? Or did you just put it on the wall already?

Got my 60ST30 from Amazon direct on Wednesday - October build. Running slides now. CJ, I have my tv on the stand for now and will test it out for a few weeks before mounting.

I have to say I find DNice's settings to be perfect for my set and eyes! The picture is as good as, if not better than, my 2009 54G10 which was professionally calibrated.

I couldn't be happier! So glad I sent that POS Samsung back. Won't stray from Panny again.

+1, I concur that my 50ST looks better than my 54G10 using his settings. I was watching Big Bang Theory last night using a good source and in their apartment, just looking around, everything looked so good.

He has a cal report over at hdj and in looking at it, it is very nice and all without going into the service menu.

Just picked up a 55" ST30 from Target, bastards declined me for the 5% off with my target debit card because I haven't had along enough history with them, make no sense as I have used the Target Debit card like 100 times, and is quite ridiculous as they advertise next to the Display TV the target red card price, good luck letting these greedy people try to approve the transaction.

I ended up having to go all the way to my bank and take out $1300 in cash for the TV because of Targets ridiculous RedCard policies. Anyways awesome TV, i was lucky enough to get a October 2011 model, and have no issues.

Some pictures

Yeah the box was the length of her

Sorry about the picture quality took them with my iphone. Will post some better ones later.

The tv is massive though, I bought this for our bedroom to replace a 2008 Panasonic 43" PX80U. Was a very nice upgrade. I am very impressed with it, just need to pick up some 3D glasses now.

Well i have been running the slides for just over 24 hours now and there are a couple noticeable green blobs on the grey slides. One slide in particular.

have most of you noticed this? I am going to see if I can notice it during normal viewing and decide what to do after that. i never really watch any B&W so maybe i wont notice it. Of course now that i am looking for it......

Any advice on the best way to handle this?

I ran the slides for about 12 hours today. I am pretty sure I noticed the same thing when I walked in the room. I am currently watching a Harry Potter movie and I notice no green blobs or any issue (lots of dark and light scenes). I havn't even noticed any FBr. Or at least that my eyes can tell. Even with the settings lowered for break-in the display looks amazing. Very happy so far. Much better than the 60" S30 that I traded in for the ST.

Super happy with my new audio setup too. Just finished setting it up today and trying it out. All Polk audio ran through a Pioneer VSX 1021. Its my first ever setup and I am all smiles

did you notice them at the beginning of running the slides? yeah this is a known problem, and they might not go away. i would return it if they dont go away and it bothers you.

I am surprised there's still stock left around from April or even June. I would think that besides geography, what model is purchased would affect ones chances of getting an older manf model.

Along these lines, from my experience, the 55 & 60 inch models in the ST line seem to be the most popular and thus stock is used up more quickly for those.

I am upgrading from a 50" TH-50PX77U from the 2007 time-frame to the 60ST. I am surprised at what 1300 bones can buy now-a-days vs what I got in 2007 in the 50"!

New features from the TH-50PX77U:

-1080p
-3D
-Networking
-"New" blacker black tech
-10" of more tv
