Official Samsung UNXXD8000 Owners' Thread - Page 231

Hi guys,

After reading this thread I went out and bought a 55" D8000. So far I am very impressed with everything apart from the most important bit, the 3D.

I get this ghosting effect on most things. It is most prominent on graphical text on sky sports on the sky 3d channel. The snooker happened to be on when I took this.

This was taken with my iPhone through one of the lenses on my 3D glasses. As you can see I get a repeat image to the right of the main image. If you look through the other lens you get a repeat image on the other side.

The outcome is when watching, obviously with both eyes, I get repeat images on both sides.

If you look closely (not visible on the pic) you can see the ghosting on the snooker balls / football players / anything watched in 3D.

How do I solve this?

Cheers

My UN55D8000 arrived this morning....purchased from Newegg last Wednesday. I went ahead and set it up before I left for work but didn't bother to turn it on since it was still quite cold. I'll head home at lunch and make sure it works.

Cosmetically, it looks flawless. Very happy to see it arrive undamaged.

Quick check on the back panel showed it was manufactured in December 2011 with an H303 panel so happy to see that also.

Looking forward to testing it out later today.

What are the best wall mounts for the 8000 series LEDs? The Samsung mounts look appealing due to their slim profile and the fact you don't have to tear up your walls too badly installing them.

http://www.samsung.com/us/video/tvs-...s/WMN2000CX/ZA

Any other options?

1920 x 1080 @ 60i HZ

^^^

The above is what I got when I hit the info button on the remote on my D8000. I returned that set. Isnt it suppose to say @60HZ what gives? Every Samsung LED or Plasma I've ever had was 60HZ? Where is the i coming from?

All the mounts work for this set I bought mine from Costco, it's perfect.. You can get either one they have, the one that comes out from the wall and turns left or right or just the straight mount. You don't need a proprietary mount they all work perfectly..

I finally took the plunge yesterday and bought the UN60D8000 at Fry's.
Lo and behold, the panel I ended up with had some major backlight bleeding issues.
It is extremely annoying and visible, especially when watching a dark movie like, say, Drive.
I have tweaked the backlight and brightness settings to no avail.

Yup, it's the H301.
I'll be forced to exchange the panel.

Has anyone had experience exchanging TVs with Fry's?
More specifically, can they take back the old one when they deliver in the replacement model?
It's a huge TV and I can't holler it back to the store...

Do they even have an H302 or H303 for the 60 inch model? I have only gotten H301 october and november builds when i had to do exchanges.

I meant to put H301 from October.
I'm myself not sure if there is a more recent build than the November one.

I have the 60inch model with the H301. My set looks fine. Was there a problem with the H301 build?

Once you change the contrast just throw all MAKnet settings out the window.. The set is wow already his settings are perfect.. Contrast is the 1 setting you can't touch or all the hardwork is pointless..

hey guys, i got this television a couple of days ago (un46d8000) and i am very pleased with it. i tried applying some settings i found on this thread, however, when i turned the set on this morning, they did not save for some reason. is there a 'save feature' or something that i need to enable?

55D8000, I do notice some judder on clear but it is random. I can't say I have seen it when the camera is panning. But it's so infrequent that it doesn't bother me.

You probably changed the input maybe? So if you switch form HDMI 1 to HDMI 2 the settings stay according to input or movie vs standard etc..

ahh, that's probably what happened. i switched to hdmi 2, where i have the ps3 connected to watch a movie.

so, i would need to manually make these changes for each and every input?

You returned the set cause it said 60i HZ? What for? (American or UK model?)

And for the record. I love the Soap Opera effect.

Anyone have any reasoning for this?

The reason you are seeing the 60i in the info box is because the info box only displays the signal's actual Hz and screen resolution and not the info of the picture on the screen after the TV processes it. Meaning that the 60i you are seeing is the signals actual specification and not the screen's specification. Currently there is no way to display the screen's specification in the info box since those specs are constant.

Hi, jazzdpb,

Yes.

The settings for each HDMI port belong only to that port.

Hope this helps.

My 60 inch October panel is H301 and I don't have issues. There may only be H301 panels used for the 60 inch. I think the panel version may be a red herring. Don't return a set based on that.....

I'm not returning it based on that, I'm returning it based on the terrible backlight bleeding.
We shall see if the problem is minimized with the more recent display.

Nope, but I suffer from the same issue myself. I haven't gotten around to calling Samsung just yet, but I'm definitely going to do so. All my movies look like that, as well as my games. Received Sanctum 3D today, and that was horrible too. I've done a fair bit of troubleshooting to no avail, and now my last resort is Samsung.

Its American model, I returned for a C8000 which to my eyes had a 100% better picture. But no 60i HZ was not the reason I returned it. Just curious as I've never seen a 60i HZ.

These are my settings which is similar to yours, differences in magenta. Still working on it but as a disclaimer, most of our viewing is in a not well lit room since the the cieling light is right by where my wife sits, so the settings might seem a little high for some. But I can distinguish different dark colors, purple vs black for example, when they are up against each other. These are strictly eyeballs and somewhat carrying over from the BR player on another input.

Picture mode: Standard
Backlight: 15
Contrast: 86
Brightness:43
Sharpness: 20
Color: 52 (yours was missing)
Tint: 50/50

LED Motion Plus: Normal

Hi, I would highly recommend you look at the wall mounts at monoprice.com. Search for 8588, I believe this is the one I'm using for my UN60D8000 and it's overkill. You can hang on it without fear of it breaking, it probably doesn't even notice the tv is there.

I too have a 60" H301. Does anyone have a H302, H303 or H304 on the 60" model? If so, please let us know!

Also, for my friends with the 60" H301 model - do you guys also notice some mild stutter/judder on your sets?
