Need a receiver for my paradigm monitor 9

Thread Starter
I am looking for a 500-1000$ receiver to drive my new monitor 9, cc-290, Adp 190 x2 and dsp3200 sub.

I would like dual hdmi outputs since I will use it for an epson 8350 and a new tv. It will be used 50 50 for gaming and movies.

- 5.1 or 7.1
- hdmi 1.4
- network feature is a plus

I had the denon 3311 in mind but I find it a little expensive.

I would appreciate your suggestions!

Thank you
Mark

I would suggest looking at Onkyo! I have the monitor 11's, cc290, adp 390's and the dsp3200. Pretty much the same setup and I am driving them with the Onkyo 807! The new Onkyo 808 would be a great avr for your system! I'm actually thinking of upgrading my avr. Onkyo and paradigm sound amazing together!

I have 10+ yr old Monitor 9's and the only thing that drove them was at first Onkyo, then Integra, a DTR 8.2 for 7 yrs. and now a brand new DTR 40.2. Onkyo/Integra is an excellent match for the Paradigms. I might suggest since your budget is inbetween $500 and 1K look into the Integra 40.2 which retails for 1K but can be had for way less. If you have even a fleeting interest in internet features look at this receiver! I'm just blown away by how many Internet Radio stations I receive with my new Integra! Hundreds of V-Tuner Radio stations and Pandora (40hrs free a month) and a trial sub to Sirius Internet Radio (1 yr) This new Integra has made my Monitor 9's come alive again!! And the setup is very user friendly!

I'm in the same boat as you I have the 9's and CC-290 and am looking at a new receiver as well. I currently have a Yamaha 663 but my short list includes the Denon 4311, Integra DTR-70.2, DHC-40.2 and 80.2 and the Onkyo 3008 and 5008. I can go either route as I am running amps as well.

There is an extensive discussion on blu-ray.com on the DTR 40.2. Eric, look into the DTR 40.2, it has preouts for seperate amps, way less than the 70.2.

One thing I really want is MultEQ-XT32.

I am tickled pink (not elmoy...) by the MultiEQ. What does the XT32 do above and beyond the MultiEQ?

More filter resolution and SubEQ-HT for calibrating two subs.
