I agree and disagree.
In this case people got the tone of his tweets wrong,
but he was wrong to assume that people outside the conversation
would get it right.
He should not say anything even remotely related to Durango and clearly it was perceived that he was doing so.
I don't think he was, but that makes no difference. People took it as a sign of things to come, especially considering the speculation about "always on" on Kotaku, IGN, etc...
People need to chill out.
He did not speak about company matters at all.
There is nothing in those posts that are official or are linked to any MS products or services.
Re-read them. If you think he is you are delusional.
Twitter is a joke.
You don't discuss anything of consequence there. Especially not official MS products or policy.
Orthy knows that. I know that. Most folks in the tech biz know that.
It's a promotional tool, for bs-ing, for rants, etc...but not for discussing serious subjects.
Who does that at 140 characters at a time?
(the exception is the Arab Spring.)
Orth was bs-ing with friends.
He's done it before on Twitter and this was just another instance.
The folks on Reddit and Neo-gaf missed that, took it out of context.
they are making a big deal of him posting a pic that says "Deal With It" and "#dealwithit".
Read all the posts.
He was posting that in response to the Bioware Dev he was Tweeting with who is a friend of his.
Not at anyone else.
Yet people have blow it completely out of proportion.
They assumed, out of context, that he was posting "deal with it" to them and gamers.
If you read the posts in context it's clear he was responding the the Bioware Dev.
We over hear a conversation and assume we know what it's about.
We read a post on a forum and assume the tone.
Sometimes we get it right, sometimes we get it wrong.
