Having problem with samson ex500 sub install

I have a pair of 4 year old samson ex500 subwoofers hooked up to a marantz reciever. i blew out the original woofers in the cabinet . i went online and purchased new woofers from carvin, the ps15-4's The right woofer works fine but the left is giving me a crackling sound. i thought it was a simple vibration problem or xlr problem but its not. any ideas on what the problem could be?

You're sure the wiring is correct and connected well?

How did you blow the woofers on the originals?

Sometimes subwoofers (or receivers) will make a cackling sound when 1+ capacitors is failing.

Thanks for your replies. One of the subs works fine. The other is cracking up.It sounded like a vibration from the cabinet but,it is more noticeable coming from the woofer itself. I will go through a trial and error i have a feeling it is the amp. It maybe the caps or a short some were.Any other ideas I Am all ears. thanks.
