What do you guys think? I'm trying to adjust to it - trying to adjust to the Lucas way - I have a g25 50 inch - do you really think this is best for sports in HD ? It seems dull ?

I do love the THX mode..... but only for watching DVDs or Blu-rays.
For broadcast over-the-air HDTV I found I prefer my own settings in Custom mode. It took me about a month to finally get the settings dialed in, but I haven't changed them during the last 9 months and they still look great to me.
And for you cable and satellite guys, remember that you are dealing not only with whatever the network is feeding your provider, but also whatever the cable and satellite providers are doing to the signal as well, which might be nothing or it might be a lot of weird stuff..... so it's totally understandable that you might need to use something other than THX mode to get a good picture with your football or basketball games.
The thing to understand is that you really do have a large number of settings to work with in Custom mode, and they all interact, so it can take a LOT of playing around to find the right combination of settings that work for YOUR situation. But be patient, spend some time playing with the various controls and pretty soon you'll begin to get a feel for what will work for you.
However, for DVDs and Blu-rays THX is amazing...... and that goes for old 1932 black and white films on DVD or just released Blu-rays.
