Longhiway, check the following: go to System Setup / Network Setup / IP Address, Proxy:
DHCP: On
IP Address : your fixed IP
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: IP address of your primary router (gateway to Internet)
Primary DNS: IP address of Internet DNS server
Secondary DNS: address of secondary DNS server
Enable Proxy: Off ( assuming you are not using a proxy server)
All the above fields should be filled in by DHCP. Any one not correct could be causing your problem.
