By all means, adjust your display's black level, contrast, color & tint tilizing a calibration disc first. For some, that is enough.
For others who want to maximize their display, you'll need to do a full calibration, or hire a pro.
Price for a pro calibration depends on the display, whether it has 3D or not, componants (AVR, gaming system, BD player, sat/cable box, etc), number of inputs and modes you want calibrated, and the selected calibrator's experience, expertise and equipment utilized.
