What program are you using to output to the tv? it may not handle 3d.

I could be wrong. But if the file you are trying to stream is MKV. I don't believe it is supported by your Sony TV. I have a friend with a Sony with the same problem.

The poster indicated that the two parts of the movie combine... which leads me to believe that his setup is working fine.

Also, he's not streaming it, he's playing it on his laptop which is connected to his TV - should have no problems. I'm pretty curious to see his response to the second post...

Are the glasses working properly (can you test on another TV)? Low battery?

For the Sony TDG-BR100

LED indicator
Flashes one time every 3 seconds: Power on
Flashes three times every 3 seconds: Low battery: Battery capacity is almost running out.
Flashes three times: Power off

If you have an SBS movie and play it in a regular player at full screen you should see the two images side by side on the screen. If you activate 3D in side by side mode you should now see a single blurry movie on the screen, without glasses on. With the glasses, turned on, you should see the 3D.
If you don't then there may be an issue with your TV or glasses, unless you can confirm that they work fine for other content.

Aslo if you don't want to use your laptop and do get a wdtv they can play half-sbs .mkv files. I'm about to use mine tonight for the first time for 3d. I can let you know how it works out.

Turn off 3D on your tv. Pause the video on a particular scene. When you compare both pictures, are they different or are they identical?

If they are the same, then perhaps the source file is not really 3D or some software on your computer is sending it incorrectly. I'd watch the video in split screen mode on your computer directly to see if the pictures are different there.

If they are different, it's definitely a problem with the TV for which you'd have to play around with settings on your TV.

After a response like this I'm surprised the whole forum is rushing over here to help you out.

Did you turn them on? Of course with my passive set you don't need to turn them on.

I'm pretty sure WD TV does not support 3d streaming at this time. If you want to stream to your TV from your laptop you need to find a program that supports this (Power DVD, etc...) As a previous post says if you don't get a single "jittery" image, then your not in 3d mode.

with my WD TV LIVE i got the picture blurry , and when i put on my glasses it was cleared , but nothing pops out from TV ,
maybe it is because of my movies ,
could u give me a link to some video sample that is extremely 3D ?
i wanna something to pop out from TV

This isn't a joke, flip the glasses upside down on your face for a moment. Is it in better 3D now? If so, the sync is reversed.

It sounds to me like your 3D is working fine.

Have you read through some of the threads in the 3D Content forum? Current 3D movies tend to have very little pop out. Current 3D is mostly about added depth. If your TV in 3D mode looks like your looking out a window, then your 3D is working fine.

The wdtv supports 3d content that is 1920x1080 (which is half-side by side), full side by side is 3840x1080. I tried streaming some 3d content last night it works really well.

But 3d does only adds more depth.

i know , now i can see the depth , but 1 month ago there was a LG showroom , i tried it , it was a demo that 2 jets fly and a also there was a ship , the jets were coming to my face , it was very exciting ,
anyone knows where could i find that kind of demos ?
now that i know my TV 3D setup is finally working.

ANYTHING that streams normal HD (1920x1080) will stream Side By Side (half). SBS half was built to be 100% compatible with normal HD. In other words your WD player won't know the difference.

If you are playing this video from your laptop, your laptop video card would have to be 3D capable for it to work and have the proper type of HDMI output. I may not be correct in this but at least that was my understand when I was looking into my HTPC that I needed the proper graphic card and a blu-ray with 4x or higher playback speeds to play 3D Blu-Rays. Streaming 3D wasn't being done when I was reading that, so not sure how that would work. Not sure about how it would work playing a movie off of a hard drive either but seems you would need the proper graphic card/HDMI connection unless you were streaming wireless through your network, which is how my setup is with my TV having media player capability built right in and dual band wireless N.

When it comes to SideBySide or TopBottom 3D ... the source device is agnostic to 3D. It sends the signal via HDMI like any other 2D 1920x1080 signal.

Its the TV that has to be *TOLD* that the incoming 2D stream is actually a 3D stream and be *TOLD* what type of 3D it is ... SBS or TnB.

I plugged my HDMI capable laptop and fed tons of SBS material ... and my Vizio e3D420vx played it like a champ.

The only issue is that the laptop does not know its 3D ... so the onscreen controls of the player (e.g. Windows Media Player) ... will be whacked by the display and difficult to discern. But there is no way around that. Even my stupid Comcast HD 3D cable box which knows that the on-demand material being played is 3D ... will not show onscreen controls in 3D ... again .. because all its doing is sending SBS 2D video over HDMI to the TV.
