Yeah, I guess my tv has that to a degree but I never notice it bevause there's always color on the screen.

Why the LG Passive 3D rules over active, watch this on your LG and enjoy.. I can promise active sets can't handle this extreme depth!

I had this same problem how I solved it is I got an optical audio cable and used the audio out on the tv. If your surround sound has an optical audio jack use that, u can get one from amazon for a few bucks.

It is sitting on a flat surface mounted on the factory stand.

Thanks

Yes I first got the 55lw5600 and it had a bend along the top then I got a 55lw6500 it too has a bend in it. I can't see any pq problems but non the less its weird that they are bent like that.

For some reason I believe 3D movies where you have to simply put your glasses on look much better than ones you must select side by side or below and above image combination. It could be that Avatar made me think that way but I noticed I liked Final a destination 3D a lot too.

Right now I have Avatar, Under the Sea, Tron, Captain America, in 3D. Any recommendations? I saw Final Destination via the Vudu app on PS3.

Back on topic, I hooked up a receiver direct TV to the receiver and played around again with RB3 and the auto calibrate...

Well get this, through optical the tv actually has LESS lag from the sound than the receiver....

By about 25ms....

So....next up, Xbox to receiver through optical...we will see....

And I have gotten video to stay stable at 75ms....so that seems to be the best I will get...

And FYI, the RB calibration system is flawless so it is the benchmark...not Halo, not Uncharted, and certainly not CoD as that is all hand and eye test and doesn't equate for human ms lag

I haven't noticed anything different, though I haven't messed with it much. The ghosting is still the same with trying to use interleaved in 3d games. I'm guessing only 2012 LG sets will have this fixed by having an interleave option in the 3d options.

Thanks,

It brings up ex adjust menu what do I select after that? I thought after looking at the earlier posts you bring up the menu and put one code in for TGX bright room and THX cinema?

I don't know what this firmware changed but I do know that it's been over 8 hours since I did the update and the clock on my 65LW6500 is still not working. It's set to auto in the setup menu so it should automatically set the time. If it's still not working in the morning I'm contacting LG about it.

Did you make the changes in the service menu to enable the THX settings? It should look like this pic that mchaney post back on page 30. Remember this is for the 65LW6500 so if you have a different size don't change anything related to the the TV type. Once THX is enabled in the service menu you can go the picture setting in the setup menu and select the THX picture mode. When the THX picture mode is highlighted pres 8741 on the LG remote and that will enable all the ghosted out setting.

So I go into the ez adjust menu and make all the changes so my values are the same as the ones in the photo. After they are the same and saved, it will unlock THX or I make the changes like in the photos then after it will allow me to enter that 4 or 5 digit code and it will unlock THX? I just don't know at what point the labels in my video presets will be renamed to THX?

I just want to be clear what I need to change to enable THX. I thought I just had to pres the menu button to bring up the prompt, then enter one code to unlock THX Cinema and another code for THX Brightroom. Why am I changing all those settings?

Those photos unlock several other options but if you only want the THX options then go into Tool Option3 and change THX and THX Media Director from 0 to 1 and in Tool Option6 change 3D THX from 0 to 1.

What will those other options do if I change them? Is it worth it to enable local dimming and what exactly does that do? Also, thanks Fred for the help.

Ok, I enabled thx via your instructions, thank you so much. Is it worth it to enable local dimming? If so what post should I look to in order to enable it? Lastly, is there any other thing that I would want to enable besides the THX options and local dimming?

Ok I changed everything to the settings in these photos:

Hopefully it will just be an easy replacement of some board as I do not want to run the risk of the good panel lotto with a replacement. This is my second set as the first one I received had light bleed and audio issues.

Anybody hear of issues like this with this tv? Was generally pleased with this tv until this.

Just a quick update on my problem tv. Repairman came and switched out the main board. TV is back up and running. Now that I look back I noticed some wierd things that this tv was doing before it totally failed. Sometimes it would take multiple presses on the tv remote to turn on or off. The tv would never set the time if it was on Auto. I would always have to manually set - now it works on auto with this new board! The volume near the end before it broke would sometimes have to be set in the 60 and 70 range when watching netflix or hulu. I haven't had much time yet to mess with the tv to see if I still have to turn the volumn up for those apps.

FYI, I did have all the service menu tweeks enabled with the old board including the dvr option.

Auto clock only works with an OTA antenna connected. It syncs from the tuner not the Internet. Weird decision for a "smart tv" but that's what they did.
What does enabling the DVR function do specifically? How would you record onto a flash drive if that's what it does?

Also thanks for he help. The pic quality is 2x as good compared to just putting the basic settings picture tweaks I did before.

Last question, by doing these tweaks are you voiding your warranty bevause I bought a 5 year extended warranty from LG and am worried if a tech happens to come out and is looking at my settings, sees the THX stuff, then my warranty is voided. If that's the case, I need to know bevause if I do have any issues I'll restore the tv to factory default before they come out.

Is anyone else having problems with the HOME screen since updating to the new 04.03.01 firmware. It take about 20 seconds for it to come up after I press the Home button. Then once it does comes up I can't do anything because 2 of the apps at the bottom are clocking trying to load and the screen will just time out and close. Also if I try to delete the apps from the bottom row they just come back even though I deleted them. The only way I can the the HOME screen to work is to turn the TV off and back on but it only work for the first time I go into the HOME screen. Once I exit and try to go back in it locks up and time out again. I never had any of these problem until the new firmware update yesterday. BTW this on the 65LW6500

I am having the exact same issue. I tried turning the tv off for more than a minute. The HOME works the first time I use it, but as soon as I go back to the tv and press HOME again, it takes 30 secs to come up, and once in, takes forever to move the cursor around. I'm thinking this is a bad update and think I may go back to the previous version. It's very annoying.

Here's a problem that has made me very frustrated. I have to contact LG about it still, but maybe someone else has an issue.

My neighbor, on the same side of the house the tv is on has a wireless connection. He's obviously not to bright, because the connection is wide open. No WEP key. My signal is stronger and I have a WEP key. When I select my router, I enter my WEP key and I'm connected fine. That's until I turn my tv off. Once I turn it back on and check the Internet Connection, it picks up my neighbors router and connects automatically to it. I have to search for my router, select it and enter my WEP key again to connect. Why does the tv keep selecting the open connection and not stay connected to my router. It's a pain to keep entering the WEP key everytime I turn my tv on.
Yeah I was having trouble bringing up the menu via the home button on the magic wand remote after the update.
