My neighbor, on the same side of the house the tv is on has a wireless connection. He's obviously not to bright, because the connection is wide open. No WEP key. My signal is stronger and I have a WEP key. When I select my router, I enter my WEP key and I'm connected fine. That's until I turn my tv off. Once I turn it back on and check the Internet Connection, it picks up my neighbors router and connects automatically to it. I have to search for my router, select it and enter my WEP key again to connect. Why does the tv keep selecting the open connection and not stay connected to my router. It's a pain to keep entering the WEP key everytime I turn my tv on.

Maybe it's an issue with your router if you can't nail it down to anything on the tv. Try do a chat support talk with your routers manufacturer. Otherwise it's obviously something on the tv and I'd contact LG.

FYI, I sent an email to LG Support today and this is the response I got.

"I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you.
We have forwarded this issue to the factory for investigation and if required correct through an update."

I found this on another Forum and appears to fix the lag on the tv.

Go to SETUP > SUPPORT > Initialization of Premium ONLY!!!!
Turn your tv off then back on.

You may lose some of your settings, but it appears to work. If you try before me, let me know if this works.

Thanks.

OK I did the initialization of premium. I went into menu then to support at the very bottom and the selected initialization of premium and so far problem is solved. I didn't lose anything at all as far as I can tell, I think what the ppl on the other tread was talking about was losing the settings in the service menu but I haven't had any problems and from what i read nobody else did either. So it did solve the problem it is responding just as quick as before the update.

The problem with the home screen lag will only stop if you initialize the premium. You have to turn the TV off and then turn it back on, once u turn it back on the home screen will come up fast and work without lag so u can get to the setup menu and go to the last option which is support and open that and initialize premium. I did mine about an hr ago and it still works fine without any lag.

As I stated above, do the following. I tried tonight and it worked for me. Once I did it, my Premium Apps also updated via a separate software update.

Goto HOME>SETUP>?(last tab at the bottom)>Initialization of Premium
Select it and click OK. Wait for a minute and the TV will restart. Click on HOME again and you should see a message saying your Premium Apps are updating to a new version. Once done, it says Successfully updated. At this point, you're good to go. Problem solved.

Enjoy your TV again.

It appears that it does and a damn fine job of it too!
SteveCaron can you give me some idea about your native PAL question? Does this mean you can put PAL region DVD's and see them on the tv,or does this mean for example you have files that are PAL and thru USB or media server can play back fine on your LG set?? I am not aware too much about the working of native PAL.. just trying to figure out what you were all asking...

My question was directed towards PAL DVDs. THe Oppo out puts PAL on those discs and when you allow the OPPO to do this you will see improved picture quality. I have a copy of Cook the Thief and her Lover from the UK in the PAL format that looks absolutly fantastic on this TV.

Hey everyone. I just wanted to post this its kinda interesting to try http://www.xrite.com/custom_page.aspx?PageID=77&Lang=en it test how well you see your colors. I scored a perfect 0 it ranges from 0 to like 1590, idk if thats awesome or not but it says that 1 out of 12 men have some kind of color deficiency and the lower the number the better so i guess im not 1 of the 12. What a relief.lol All joking aside it is pretty interesting check it out.

Ok my trusty forum friends. I have an RCA remote.. It's the one with the guide button instead of the go back button. I actually "borrowed" it from my mom on a recent visit to her. The remote now can partially control my 55lw6500.it controls volume and pretty much everything else. I am ready to explore guys. Explore the THX settings etc. I've had my tv since October and it's time to take the training wheels off. On my remote when I hit the GUIDE button the tv asks me for a code, and I am totally lost. LOL .please help me guys. Thanks. Eagerly awaiting help :-)))

SOMEBODY HELP ME. I GOT INTO THE SERVICE MENU OF MY 55lw6500 and accidentally changed one of the standard values and my damn tv shut down on me. What I need is the DEFAULT NUMBERS FOR TOOL OPTION 2.. Right now I have 5555 but I know that is wrong because it disabled just about ALL of my inputs :-((((((. Under tool option number 2

Ok. I was able to use a value from a site I came across to get my tv running again. Pheewww. Word to the wise. TAKE A PICTURE OF THE DEFAULT SETTINGS BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGES..I found a THX value of 0 and changed it to 1 but I don't see a change in the pic. Maybe it's me. Am I missing a step?

You should see the added choice in the Picture Mode list in the Picture Setup menu and also in the Picture Mode list from the Quick Menu.

Setting the THX option from 0 to 1 simply enables THX on your TV. So, when you've finished making these changes in the service menu area and are back to the normal everyday use of your TV, then you should now see THX (maybe THX Cinema and/or THX Bright Room) listed among the other picture modes that you can select, such as Vivid, Cinema, Game, THX, Expert, etc.

When it came time to take the plunge into the Service Menu area of my 47LW5600 to activate THX, I found the following post to be a very helpful guide thru this puzzle: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...8#post21257438

The sound on my TV yesterday was just randomly cutting out I had to cut the TV off and back on to get the sound back. Has anybody had this, I'm wondering if its the update that hit the other day because of the other issues its had. I've got about 9 days left to send it back, I bought it used from amazon warehouse deals so there is no warranty and i want to send it back before times runs out if i need to. It hasn't done it yet today but it hasn't been on as long today either so...

It didn't work for me. It only works until I turn the TV off. Once I turn the TV back on it's back to the lag. I did the firmware rollback trick mentioned in another thread and that worked taking me back to 04.02.28. Looks like I'll wait until the next update after 04.03.01.

OK I need some input, I posted this on another thread but I'm gonna ask here to cause I need help asap. OK i currently have the 55lw6500 and it is scheduled for pick to return to amazon and the plan is to replace it with the 55lm6700 unless someone knows why I should keep the lw6500. I know the lm6700 is 120hz vs the lw6500 is 240hz that's not a big deal so no need to mention that, I know all the stats I've compared the two but I'm looking for someone who has seen them together or knows more technical things about them. If anybody has some input on the two like PQ or features or just if u think I should just do it straight up or not do it just let me know what y'all think. I've got till 2pm 2maro to cancel, they are set to pick it up between 2 and 7 so i need some input asap. Thanks in advance...

So how are you returning it to amazon for that tv? Got my 55lw6500 in oct. last year. What features of the new tv is justifying you wanting to replace?
