I've come to realize it is an ipad issue, since the website works fine on my mac.

According to LG there's 3 places in my area selling them.... take that for what it's worth though.

What area are you in? What sizes will this model come in?

Thanks.

The 55LW6500 that I ordered in late March was shipped today. It will arrive on Monday.

Anyone get the 65" LW6500... I am starting to see it becoming more readily available online... the price is too steep for me, I will need to wait- I am impressed with the passive 3d that I saw when I was at best buy...

Well I put on the glasses and immediately noticed how bright the picture was. I didn't notice any jaggies or loss of resolution.

Then it happened: ghosting, ghosting and did I say ghosting.

Very disappointed.

After reading the importance of viewing this set at eye level,
I gave it another chance.

At eye level, I did not notice any ghosting and the picture was very bright with the passive glasses. I would buy this set but at least the 55" model.

Who did you order from? I ordered one last week from Amazon.com LLC and they said 2-5 weeks.

What is the estimated delivery date of this TV; thank you.

I could be wrong, but my impression was that the Toshiba 55TL515U was edge-lit, and so its local dimming was basically the modest number of zones that edge-lit local-dimming provides. I'm basing this on the fact that the Toshiba web site says that the TL515U offers "local dimming", where as the higher-numbered series (6xxx and up) talk about "fine local dimming". But like I said, I might be reading too much into a choice of words....

I picked my 55lw5600 earlier this week, I had to take it back because it had light bleeding problems on the lower and side edge of the screen, it was noticeable in the day time, and really distracting at night, especially if I was watching content with black bars, so i took it back and exchanged it for another one, hassle free. And the second turned out to be perfect. I have it mounted on my wall at eye level from a sitting position. My viewing distance is 12 feet. All I gotta say is amazing, I bought tangled 3d and tried the 3d out, and I was impressed. Got to see "cars 2" preview in 3d as well, I was blown away, the screen is bright. Can't wait to start my 3d blu ray collection. I was also worried about having 3d cut in half resolution after reading about it. Couldn't quite gauge it at the store since I was about feet away from the tv, but at my home, the quality of the picture is great. I couldnt tell, maybe because of my 12feet viewing distance, but it look awsome, I gotta say, I watched tangled about 3times, not becuase of the story, but for the 3d. I would definitely recommend , I got mine at frys electronics bundled with a LG bd670 3d bluray.

Received my 55LW6500 today and got it hooked up. Picture is very vivid and clear. 3D is Awesome, just as good as panasonic demo in Best Buy. 2D to 3D upconversion is pretty good too, especially on a DVR Avatar recording I had. I am glad I waited for this one.

Does anyone have this set also have a PS3? If so can you please test 3D bluray playback from the PS3. The LW5600 sets show a purple line at the top of the screen and a green and a purple line on the bottom of the set. I would like to know if the LW6500's show the same issue. So far the problem is limited to the PS3 and LW5600's AFAIK.

I saw the 55" at best buy and have to say I was impressed with the passive 3D. Seemed just as good as active 3D. I have a 106" 3D projector JVC rs40 and a 50" 3D Samsung and the passive 3D was just as good. Wish I could get passive on the 106" screen.

Any gaming lag tests done on this set? How does it perform in gaming 2d and 3d. And how does it handle when watching sports? Any lag?
I am not a gamer so I can't help much with that. I have only watched baseball and it was very nice but haven't watched any fast moving sports yet.

You can LG makes a hell of a passive projector with a Severtson drop down screen it's amazing. I deal in the most expensive projectors and the LG is no slouch, almost no ghosting, that should no be like that, there should be some.

LG has it's 3D $hit together so much more than Samsung it's not even funny.

SONY should buy LG panels and go passive for the top bravia line.

On the 5600 model there are tons of reports of gaming lag. Just wondering if the 240hz will make up for this on the 6500?
That is not this model. That is the 55LW5600, not 55LW6500.

Before the Cinema 3D technology worked like this: During a time period of 1/200 seconds the TV showed 2 frames; 540 lines for the left eye and 540 lines for the right eye. The new algorithm shows 4 frames instead of 2 during the 1/200 second time frame. It shows 1080i for the left eye and 1080i for the right eye.

1080i per eye?

Lee.. 16,275 post since you joined in Feb 2007...this must be a record on AVS.
Street Preacher. is confusing the 540 odd numbered lines in the left line field and the 540 even numbered lines in the left line field as shown in the Lee's post as separate frames instead of realizing that it is the interlaced result of the even line field and odd line field that create a single frame as shown.
