im not very happy with my D6400. it doesnt handle motion very well. any work arounds for this?

Also can i connect my PC via a HDMI cable to my TV?

Wish a wireless keyboard would be compatible with this unit Has anyone got one to work with it? I have the D6300, would be great!! (NOT the samsung monster keyboard)

If you have an iOS or Android device, you can download the Samsung Remote app and use the keyboard on there.

Yeah, but a usb wired keyboard or wireless will definitely not work right? If not i probably will return the smart TV b/c its such a hassle.

Hi guys, i am sorry for breaking into this topic but i have a doubt and i hope you can help me with it...
First of all i am Portuguese... So if i do not express myself as i should i am terrebly sorry.. XD

So... I am thinking of buying a Tv for my bedroom... After some research i think that i am going to buy or the Samsung UE32D6000 or the UE37D5500. The 6000 has 3D but i don't really care about it, my mais concern is about the 100hz on the D5500 versus the 200hz of motion rate on the D6000.

Do wich one do you think i should buy? The D5500 That is bigger or the D6000 that has better motion rate? Both Tv's cost exactly the same...

The tv is going mainly to be used to play Ps3 and watch some movies.

Can you help me decide please?

Hi Pedro, ive got a D6400, it has a motion rate of 400 hz and im not happy with the way it handles motion. motions are blurry and stutter at times.

not sure how the tvs you mention perform in comparison to mine.

DO NOT blame Any TV for blur/stutter in motion until you have compared different sources & channels. Most NEW TVs do a pretty good job after proper settings and the source programming and/or the carrier including OTA/cable/sat are the source of the problem not the TV.

This is experience talking not speculation.

First of all thank you very much for your answer Anoop, I know that sometimes 400 or 600hz tv´s do the exact same thing as 200hz ones because i already saw that, for example , in a store i saw i Samsung with 200hz kick a Philips's ass with a 400 or 600hz motion rate.

My main concern is related with the fact that many people say that the D5500 is not really 100hz (at least real ones)... I have heard that the difference is much bigger between 50 and 100hz than between 100 and 200.

Will i be better served if i choose the D5500 for being bigger? Does this tv perform well? I am really thinking of getting the D5500 because i have a big bedroom... So what i am trying to know is if the differences between the picture quality and motion on the d5500 and the d6000 model are that noticeable...

As i said before this tv is going to be used to watch some movies a nd most of all to play games such as call of duty or fifa on my ps3 and the 3D feature its not thar important for me (i have watched some 3D movies in theatres and they completely kill my eyes after half an hour, not to say that i think that 3D distracts you from the movie itself... I was also told that 3D in 32 inch models is not that reat, specially in the D6000 models...)

Has anyone updated the firmware to 1028.1? What are your thoughts and is everything still working?

My un46d6000 has been on it for several weeks now. Everything is just fine. Don't notice any difference in performance between 1028.1 and the last firmware revision.

why does everyone suggest to keep judder reduction at 0 and blur reduction at 10? Shouldnt judder reduction be at 10 too?

I THINK AMP may be functioning correctly again as of the latest firmware (1028). Can anyone else check and confirm? Seemed to be working fine on Custom and Off when I tried it again.

The higher judder is set, the more soap opera/smoothing effect will be added. I find Clear is the best setting, and have yet to find a custom setting that is better.

I have been comparing the und7000 and und6400 for some time now and had a picture quality question. When glancing at the forums I see many posts regarding the 7000's clouding/flashlighting issues. However when I look at the 6000/6400 thread I do not see nearly as many posts regarding this issue.

-My question is can anyone tell me if the 6000/6400 in particular has less flashlight/clouding issues then the 7000? Also is the PQ similar in the 2?

The 6000 definitely has flashlighting but some sets are worse than others. I have not seen many complaints about the 6400. The 7000 is 240hz which is better for 3D and it also has micro dimming but i dont know how well it works. But the 6000 has phenominal HD picture comparable to the higher end samsungs sets imo

i notice slight flashlighting on my d6400. but its like once in a while on a complete black scene. those scenes are rare and dont matter much. Also i dont watch movies in the dark so that would be another reason why i dont see it as many times. but still, its not that many that would it bother. i find the motion issues really annoying.

Anyone know how the d6400 compares to the new es6100's?

Hey there, just looking for some feedback. My Sharp Aquos (LC46D62U) recently was knocked over and I'm looking for a good replacement at a good price. I am in talks with someone for a barely used (4 months, still has extended warranty for 3 years) UN55D6300.

Does anyone have this model and what are your thoughts? I mostly use it for TV/Movies (HTPC) and will play some PS3 on it once in awhile.

Also, where can I locate the panel model on the TV? I will be checking it out tonight and want to see what panel it has before making my decision.

I appreciate all the posts, I've poured my way through tons of them but haven't found many reviews for this specific unit.

Is anyone familiar with VUDU brightness issues? Whenever a movie starts, the brightness looks like it goes from 50-100 and the picture is totally washed out. Only happens with this app not netflix youtube etc

My local best buy has a 40" d6000 on clearance for $680..Is this years es6100 that much better than the previous gen to purchase for $899. Or would I be better off saving my money and getting the previous gen?

I'm a proud new owner of a 60D6400. I've owned over 10 Samsung sets in the last 6 years and currently have:

I've searched high and low for universal settings like we use to see with the A series Samsung TVs (2008). I know there's different panels; I have all SQ panels expect my F301 60 inch.

Does anyone have a link to settings that are well liked in our community for the D6000 series?

Well the es6100 has built in wifi but has 1 less HDMI port. I also cannot confirm this but I have heard the es6100 does not have a clear coat screen so maybe its matte? not sure though. will check next time im at sams club. As far as flashlighting issues it sounds like the es6100 has roughly the same problems as the d6000.

I somehow turned on the ESPN bar, now it turns on every time the tv is turned on. I can't find were to turn it off

What's on it? And is it displayed regardless of input?

its the epsn bar from the samsung apps and once it loads it just sits on the side of the screen. I haven't tried other inputs. I'll do that when I get home tonight.


I know I was playing around in a settings screen and enabled it, I just can't find where I did it to turn it off!

I did that exact same thing to myself when I first bought my TV . Smart Hub -> "D" (or blue) -> Service Manager -> Ticker Autorun -> Off

has anyone noticed flashlighting getting progressively worse over time? I feel like my top left has gotten worse. Note: I had my backlight up higher than normal(16) for a few weeks, now it is back to 12. This was my 4th D6000 haha... Was reading that the 2012 ES6100s are just as bad. Guess its something I should just accept until I can afford a local dimming Sammy?

Actually I have. I was thinking of making a post on this a while back but forgot. When I first put the set it, I was really happy that flashlighting was minimal (you could see if it if you looked for it, but it wasn't bothersome). Now it's getting more and more pronounced... a bit to my surprise.
