Samsung approved the exchange...now I wonder if I'll get a new D6900 or ES model.

For my exchange (for the D6900) I was offered a ES6600.....I refused.

I asked for a ES8000, both have ultra-clear panels and top features/options.

Samsung called back and offered a ES7100...I took the offer.

I believe I could have held out for/ negoitated the ES8000 but didn't want to wait for weeks....

Please help! I'd reset factory settings in the service menu on my UN46D6000 and the tuner seems not working. Please to all owners of the SAMSUNG UN46D6000! Can you save your tv settings in HOSPITALITY mode TV to USB and send it to me. Thanks in advance!

Digital Noise Filter set to Auto and MPEG Noise Filter set to Auto for DirecTV really improves picture quality.

Especially with Film mode set to Auto1 with a 1080i source (like DirecTV).

Upgraded to 1025 firmware this eveing. All is well with the TV so far. Apps run fine.

I did the same and screwed up my HDMI calibration, I tried this pattern http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/9644/checkerboardsamsung.jpg and it did good to my TV.
First time I tried, it did not work that was because I had this picture in fullscreen mode in my laptop's screen.
Then I tried extending my screen into my TV fully blown up. and tried the calibration again, and that was the trick. Hope this helps.

I own a UN40D6000SFXZA (http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/UN40D6000SFXZA) and I'm having a couple of weird issues.

First, I noticed that under the general->system info menu, my TV is identified as a UN37D6000. I talked to Samsung Support and they said no such model exists and my serial number confirms I have a UN40D6000SFXZA (this is all on the back of the TV), so it must be a firmware issue, and that they wanted a tech to look at it. They, of course, want me to pay for this (the TV is not under warranty) so I declined.

Is this normal for the TV to show up as some random model #? Any way to fix it if it isn't? I tried Factory Reset from the Service Menu and the Regular Menu. Neither worked. I also tried flashing the firmware located at the link above, and the system says no compatible firmware was found on the USB stick.

Second, I'm having weird video sync (?) issues on the VGA port. Using a VGA scaler that I own which outputs at 640x480 @ 60hz results in a unstable, shaky/jittery image. The image displays just fine on my 24" Asus LCD Monitor, but the Samsung doesn't like it at all. If I hit the "Auto Adjust" setting, the picture looks perfectly fine and is stable, but, as soon as it is done, the picture goes back to being a dance party.

Any help is appreciated!

Anyone know if it's possible to hack the amazon video streaming app off of an E series and stick it on our amazon deprived d series?

Anyone notice there is a new firmware for the Samsung D 6000 series? On Samsung's webpage it has version 1030.0 which says was released in Oct. The odd thing was my TV had 1029.0 and said it was up to date. So I downloaded the firmware from online, ran the update from the USB stick. The TV now listed 1030, and then when I ran check for update, it said it found a new update (1030) and redownloaded/reinstalled it. I checked again and it said it was now up to date.

Its been a while since any updates in this thread. Ive been experiencing some problems with my set. I use the harmony 700 remote to control my setup and sometimes when I hit a button it will act as if I hit it twice. Such as when I hit channel 3 the television will turn to channel 33 (no cable box) or when going down a list it will go down twice even though I hit the button once. Thought it was a harmony issue, but when using the original samsung remote it still occurs. Anyone else with similar issues?

I have the exact same set, and I know what you mean, the artifacts only occur in the lower part of the screen, usually the left corner (though maybe a pan the other way would put it in the lower right corner). But always the bottom. I think this is a bug or the hardware is too slow, but no combination of settings I tried would make it go away. (Most recently I tested this on a blu ray.) In any cause it makes the smooth setting unpleasant for me, so I use AMP clear, which I'm happy with.

Can anyone possibly give me the dimensions of the stand for the UN55D6000? I'm at work and need the dimensions to cut out a piece of plastic to place under the stand to raise the tv about half an inch in order to clear the center speaker which I recently purchased.. Thanks in advance..

My UN60D6000 = 13 1/4 x 21 1/4. Might be same or close?

Thanks.. From the specs on the Samsung site, I was able to determine that it's 12 inches wide but nowhere does it state the length.. Looks like the size for the 60 inch is a little different.. Thank you anyway..

Just had a guy from the Geek Squad do a free calibration on my Samsung UN55D6000. I'm a Silver Premiere Rewards member so I was able to pick one free service. I originally had planned to calibrate a 55" LG that I had purchased last month for the living room. But since I watch most of my programs on the Samsung, he recommended I go with that.

Words can't describe the difference the calibration has made. My previous settings were either from this site or tweaktv.com. The picture now has so much depth. It's truly amazing. I watched Forrest Gump last night and Iiterally felt like I was walking through the rain forest of Vietnam!

Here are my previous settings:

Color Temp: Warm 2
Backlight 16
Contrast 87
Brightness 44
Sharpness 20
Color 48
Tint G50 R50
Gamma 0

Here are the calibrated settings:

Contrast 100
Brightness 40

So as you can see some settings were closer than others.



But here is where I feel the difference comes in:

These settings are found in the Advance Settings of the Picture mode:

White Balance: (Pre Calibrated) Red, Green Blue (Both offset and Gain) were all set to 25

White Balance (Calibrated) Red offset 16 Red Gain 41
Green Offset 21 Green Gain 29
Blue offset 21 Blue Gain 0

Then finally the setting Color Space.. First you have to assign to Custom. Then make these assignments

Cyan Red 0, Green 60, Blue 38

With the calibrated settings, skin color is so lifelike, even subtle shadows are noticeable. My picture before calibration was washed out in white. No Longer is that the case. I'm really enjoying the display!

Contrast at 100 doesn't seem right. On my 60" D6420, the highest I can go is 89 without clipping or a color shift. I have it set to 88 for a bit of headroom. Also, gamma at -3 would be way off on my unit. Sounds like you're happy though, and that's all that matters.

Have a UN55D6050TFXZA that has a power issue. We have to leave it unplugged for long periods of time (probably days) before we can plug it back in & power it on. My first inclination was a capacitance issue of some sort. I've seen that Samsung had a big problem with capacitors in the past on their LCD power supplies.

Has anyone had this problems with the LED TV's? Or does anyone have a thought on this problem? Hate to junk the TV when the problem is not a seemingly final issue.

Also, this TV does seem to have a few LED's out in the lower left corner. Any experience or fixes for this? I haven't opened up this TV yet.
